  1. OP here. Just to clarify. My idea was really for missions where the player aircraft are set to ‘client’ but mainly designed for SP. So, say you have a mission with 4 different types of helicopters, you can choose one and the others will show as parked, unless you do decide to play it MP and someone else takes the other ones. It just makes more sense to have an airport with a few aircraft sitting around and when you choose one, you can still see the others.
  2. If you build a mission with multiple flyable client aircraft it would great to see them as static aircraft if not taken by a player. At least for aircraft that are set to ground or ramp start. Maybe as an option. Would make the airfield look more populated.
  3. They are saying 'passing' which means going past a point. The point is reference to the 'bullseye' (bulls) point. It's a common point that friendlies reference, so that the enemy doesn't know where everyone is. In your case they are 198 degrees and 24 miles from the bullseye.
  4. Thanks! Here it is then. I join the crew and the engines are doing funny things. Only the right is working. So I leave the crew briefly after it taxies and then I rejoin. Then the engines are stopped until we reach takeoff speed. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ektwz45cs7qhezo/TFK_Warbirds_Normandy_Rhubarb-20211010-163422.trk?dl=0
  5. Hornet driver here just picking up the Viper. Is this an F-16 specific thing? JDAMs work just fine in the F-18 without lasing.
  6. Normandy Map on MP server. Jumped in as observer while taxiing. No engine sound and props stationary. When we reached flying speed the engines came alive (spun and sound). Could still manipulate cockpit controls. Please see video. Sorry no TRK as it was on a server.
  7. I've uploaded them to user files. Who would you like me to credit? Here's one. The other isn't active yet https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3317303/
  8. +1. Should always be AI co-pilot in MP unless another player jumps in.
  9. It rubs the lotion on its textures
  10. Bump. 24 June 2021. DCS OB ver 2.7.2.8165 and this is the same. Tearing my hair out trying to find what I'd done wrong. Same loadout for day and night pinpoint strike missions. Weird that the 3D model of the LAU-3 pod still shows in ME and game, but you just can't select them. It must be a nightmare keeping track of every single mission's backwards compatibility.
  11. All of the Mk80 series bombs in DCS seem to only have M904/905 mechanical fuzes. I don't even know if these still even get used. They are mechanical (clockwork!) armed by a wire that is removed and spinning vane. You can tell by the silver cylindrical extension from the nose of the bomb (M904) and the anemometer on the tail (M905, which doesn't actually spin in game when released). This is Vietnam era technology. Modern fuzes like the FMU-139 electronic fuze you can tell when fitted by the nose cup which just looks like a pointy green nose on the bomb and no anemometer on the tail. You also need fuzes like this to be able to select inst or delay from the cockpit. I note that DCS has options in the jet for both efuze and Mfuze, but you can't have both for nose and tail fusing.
  12. Now that it's released
  13. Thanks. Was user error. Radios not tuned right.
  14. Ok thanks for replying. Already onto it. So far I've done Mi8, Mi24 and SU-24. Will upload shortly and credit you guys if you're happy. I have an idea of making Northeria and Southeria skins for various aircraft, to make missions and campaigns that don't relate to rl countries.
  15. Hey @Charly_Owl LOVE your never-ending work. A suggestion if I may. Have you though of splitting the manuals into two more manageable parts? One part flight manual and one part tactical manual. Because although modules do get bug fixes for flight manual stuff, they seem mostly to be static once released on that side, whereas it's the weapons side of things that keeps getting expanded. For example, I'm just trying to learn how to fly the Harrier right now and I don't care too much about the weapons system, but the whole guide is not available (I know the history and understand why). Here's an example page from RL Hornet NFM:
  16. Bump. Looking for these skins as well. Links all broken. Although unfortunately it doesn't look like @Strut has been on the forums since Oct 2020.
  17. Thanks! I was just eyeballing the crop and not taking notice of the actual size. Mainly because I didn't know of this requirement.
  18. The downloadable template for the Mi-24 is two parts of the skin in one file. Anyone know best practice to split them into the two usable livery files? I’m using GIMP. When I crop and save them as 2 x separate dds files the textures just show as black in game.
  19. Take a peek in the bazar > liveries > mi-24v folder. There’s lots in there. Or make a simple mission with an AI Hind and play with the different countries and liveries.
  20. Hey @Charly_Owl Love your work! Another one for the update. Running the pneumatic system out of air by leaving the gear handle up, also prevents you from using the brake parachute after landing. I don't know if this is real-world accurate, but experimenting in DCS confirms this. A flight manual I found here also supports my theory. Thanks again!
  21. VERY old thread here I know and a long shot, but @Cobra847 you wouldn't happen to have roundel templates for Southeria, Northeria and Easteria would you? I'm re-mastering the Default 'Stillness in Time' MiG-21bis campaign and I'd like to re-skin all the aircraft to remove real-world factions.
  22. I've seen numerous screenshots that include an old timey style metric to imperial conversion on the ASP. Example in Chuck's Guide page 25. While other shots show just black. Mine is also just black. Was this removed in an update some time? Is it an option? (I can't see it anywhere). A mod? I literally have a similar real laminated chart stuck on my monitor which I made back in Flanker 2 days, but having it in the jet would be handy.
  23. EDIT: I'M AN IDIOT! USE YOUR CHECKLISTS, KIDS. ESPECIALLY THE PART ABOUT OXYGEN: ON. This is what hypoxia looks like. Mods feel free to delete or leave this here as a lesson to others, DCS 2.7.0.5659 Halfway through mission 4 of this excellent F86 freeware campaign and the screen just switched to what looks like a VR/stereo setting. I don't and have never owned any VR hardware, nor have I ever experimented with any VR settings. My GPU is a GTX1650 Super with driver version 465.89 and I didn't have Geforce experience activated. You can see runtime in framerate counter of second screen shot @catt42 as the creator of this campaign (thanks! BTW) have you heard of this happening before. Happened right about the time I guess the B-52 would have spawned.
  24. Hi guys, I know this campaign has been around for a while, but I just paid for it and I'm kind of disappointed with the voice-overs. For a campaign like this, it's the extra stuff like the briefing material (which is great, BTW) and the voice-overs that should really make it. Otherwise I could just set up simple 1v1 BFM scenarios and skip all the boring bits. I know there are limitations with ATC in DCS - but if you're making a paid campaign for some immersion, at least the custom voice-overs could be close. Some examples: - AI formations are heard calling ATC for separate takeoff clearances. Formations take off with one clearance. - "Request taxi to runway". Well of course you want to taxi to the runway. Drop the "...to the runway" bit. - Calling 'Nellis departures' for takeoff clearance. Should be ""<location> Tower' - 'Taking the active'. This is not a thing. Should be '<Callsign> line up" (from ATC) with similar response. - "Callsign, airborne" on the same freq that gave takeoff clearance. This just does not happen. There's a departure call, but that's made on a different freq and contains more info. - Aircraft cross an active runway to get to another runway without clearance. That's a runway incursion. - CONSTANT "Uzi 1-1 this is Uzi 2-1 <message>". Man this one bugs me. He is your wingman. He does not not need to identify himself every transmission. Just say what you want to say, mate! This sounds like someone who is used to Army style Raytel procedures did this. - Use of "out" on the end of transmissions. "Over" or "out" is never used in aviation comms (unless talking to e.g a JTAC or ground forces). - "Now position back to India waypoint" after each engagement. What's with the "now"? This also sound very disjointed. Is it a generated voice? Sorry if this sounds very negative, I just can't play the whole campaign listening to this stuff over and over.
