Microsoft Defender says F15E is Potentially Unwanted.
Heesh replied to Major_Mayhem's topic in F-15E
Yeah as I said: Even in the thread you linked most people have issues with RAZBAM DLLs and only one person states that more than RAZBAM DLLs are affected on his end. So it's a coincidence none the less as I said before. *edit: I am not scared by the alerts and thinking that those are false positives indeed. Adding the whole DCS folder as an exclusion makes sense I guess especially performance wise. -
Microsoft Defender says F15E is Potentially Unwanted.
Heesh replied to Major_Mayhem's topic in F-15E
Kind of weird that it only happens to be DLLs related to RAZBAM modules like the Mirage, Harrier and F15 for me. None of the other modules / DCS related DLLs ever produced such warnings on my side. Given the current situation it's at least a little bit strange! -
Was playing online on the 4YA Caucasus EU2. Got an CTD when I fired the 2nd hellfire. On the first hellfire I forgot to hold the laser (no CTD). Dunno if the mission uses mod. Track attached (dunno if it helps). 4YA_Cau_PVE2_V2.92[01_MAY_FEW]-20240606-182732.trk

Simulated display lines lead to bad readability.
Heesh replied to Heesh's topic in Bugs and Problems
I did some more testing. It's less pronounced if anti aliasing is set to DLAA but still clearly visible. The screenshots above are taken in MSAA 4x -
*Edit: Somehow my text got deleted. So here we go again: The readability of the glass cockpit display especially the mms view is really bad sometimes due to the "simulated display lines". It depends on the zoom level and head position. The screenshots provided don't really show the whole problem because ingame you have additional flickering as well. I know this problem is due to the renderer / engine (in this case not even restricted to dcs, rendering narrow fine lines always gets you artifacts). But maybe its better / possible to remove these lines entirely? What am I talking about? This lines here: 1. Close up look of the display lines (parallel to the display): 2. A little bit further away the problem begins to appear (parellel view): 3. It gets worse to this point: 4. At some point the lines are stopped being rendered: 5. When you are at the usual head position the lines are even worse in some cases (not parallel). Just in case: I'm playing DCS in 1080p. I guess it's less pronounced if played in higher resolutions but I can't tell for sure.

Isn't this just the official dcs manual? Seems like it and the manual isn't updated yet. Bignewy said in another thread that only wags youtube video is there as documentation for now.

requested Bomb fuze update - where is the documentation?
Heesh replied to AndrewDCS2005's topic in DCS 2.9
Sorry but this argument is kind of absurd... You can't document (or provide us with) anything before you tweaked and fixed everything but you have enough information to literally put the feature in the game? I mean I get it is supposed to be a "beta" feature but this feature essentially touches every module ingame and we can't have a documentation because it's not ready but it's already in game? That's not how it works usually... If it's "released" it should be documented and by that I don't mean a youtube video which is helpful no doubt. You could release a documentation which just corresponds to the current state of the feature which is in game already. Then as you "tweak" the feature you can "tweak" the documentation. In my opinion this is a good example on why there is discontent within the community sometimes. You are releasing undocumented wip features (in this case a big one) and the community needs to do the guess work afterwards. Just tell us more and everyone knows what he is up to.- 18 replies

Thank you for answering! This gives me a better picture now but I still don't understand how a bomb after release can get a better fix on its own than the fighter jet it released from?! But even if this is the case I am not sure on what exactly we do have with the viper right now. As Nedum in his post described the biggest problem with all of this is that there is complete documentation missing about changes and new stuff. This plays a plays a big part in this whole situation and adds to the confusion in my opinion. We all want to have fun with a complex situation but to do that a good documentation is needed especially if something is changed. As I said before I really don't know what I'm having right now with the Viper. At least for me the INS drift seems to be really big and the GPS fix seems to not be working for me either. To my knowledge I'm not doing anything different procedure wise than before the patch but after half an hour I already got 2nm drift with GPS enabled!? There must be something wrong right? A few posts ago in this thread Lord Vader posted about the drift: So there must be something wrong with what I am doing because as mentioned before I have WAY more drift. After an hour of flight in can see the TGP wandering around like I'm slewing it but I don't. I am doing a full alignment every time and got to a aligment status 10 precision. I will try to replicate this and provide a track if possible. By the way I read somewhere that the alignment status 6 is fully aligned and enhanced to 0.6 with GPS data. How to achieve 6? Is it even possible right now?

I do get your points but why is there so much INS drift with GPS on the plane then? I mean I get that we don't have absolute mode but why should a bomb with GPS have superior self localization abilites (which absolute mode essentially is) over a plane with full fledged INS + GPS combined? At the moment one can't use JDAMs stand off capabilities with pre defined coords because of the INS drift of the F16. But again why would the JDAM do the localization better than the plane itself? This is no braggin I just really don't get the logic or something because even with no absolute mode the JDAMS should be able to hit just fine imo but maybe I'm wrong. *edit: just for clarification, I'm talking about missions in the 2000s + where GPS is available

Still strange that they push the last OB Build to release version without any other changes

Can't join multiplayer 2.5 stuck in loading or lobby or black cockpit
Heesh replied to Jaakov's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
This is true while it is true for everything game related like textures, models and so on. As long as the objects are still in memory the loading times of loading a mission the 2nd time will be faster. Even though those loading times are very much higher than before (1.5.8 and before the last beta patch). And even (at least on my side) over 5 minutes of loading time without any log messages written is a little bit odd to me. The phenomen of getting kicked back to the main menu is likely to be caused by reaching server timeout when finally getting to the lobby screen (just my guess). The one thing what bothers me is that the loading times in MP are much much higher than every other single player mission. This should be the question! Maybe its patch related (new shaders). If you delete your saved games / dcs / shader folder you are getting this messages. After a shader is created once the same message for a specific shader should not be shown again. -

Specs: Intel i7 -4790K NVIDIA GTX 1070 16 GB RAM Game installed on SSD 2 Screens HOTAS Warthog / Saitek Pro Flight Combat Rudder Pedals + Using TrackIR / SRS plugin everything else is clean Internet: IPv4 Attached my dcs.log I wrote 2 remark lines directly into the logfile for you to better understand at which state the game is at that point of time. Hope it helps *edit: tried to join DCS blue flag server with about 40 people already in dcs.log.zip -

Heesh replied to Jaakov's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Same here, before the last update joining a mp host was taking a long time but it worked at least. After the update I'm getting kicked back to main menu all the time trying to join a mp server with some players already in. So its worse for me than before the update :( -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9

I think so too, still frozen for me -
First of all, great tool! Saved me some time setting up missions in mp. So much thanks for that! Besides that I have got a problem with a fligthplan I recently set up. I can't get it to load up inside DCS no matter what try. The flightplan looks like this inside the flight planning tool: I also attached the init.lua with the exported flight plan. Things I tried: * change flight plan 1 to see if the changes get loaded inside the sim > worked * deleted whole flight plan 2 and re set it up completely > did not work * restarted sim numerous times * tried sp / mp (plan 1 loaded all the time, plan 2 never) I have no idea why the 2nd flightplan isnt loading up :( Maybe someone could take a look and come up with an idea. Regards Heesh init.lua

Wow nice, good job :) Thanks ciribob!

Hi ciribob, maybe I'm doing something wrong or there are some settings not right but I can't get it to work that I hear people without transmitting on my own once in a while. When I'm done setting everything up (aircraft, radios, sr) I don't hear any transmission even though I'm on the right frequency. I then have to transmit myself (just press ptt once) to receive transmission e.g. hear other players speaking. If this would occur only once it wouldn't be a problem. But sometimes during a flight on blueflag I notice that I haven't heard GCI or any other player for a while. After pressing PTT I receive transmissions again, most of the time even almost immediately because someone is transmitting at that moment. I don't know whats wrong here but I happened so often to me that I'm sure to say that it is not my imagination (could be just radio silence). I can't be a coincidence that the moment I press PTT I hear transmissions again. Could there be some wrong settings? Closed ports anything? I love SR but this drives me mad. *edit: Sorry, I saw this was reported before :(

Hey Ciribob, first off all great addition to DCS and blueflag. May I add two feature requests? I would like to minimize the standalone client to the system tray, would this be possible? Another thing is, maybe you could make the overlay saving its size, transparency and position when closing. Another strange thing happend to me lately was that I had to push the PTT button once to hear anyone. I was flying on blueflag with gci on 264 and I was wondering why noone is saying anything on that frequency when others assured me that gci is on 264. After I made a mic check (meaning I transmitted) I could hear everyone talking.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 7
Heesh replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
In my opinion it would be nice to have some stronger airfield defences. Maybe it could be the way that there a some kind of "key" airports on each side which have stronger defences than others. Looking forward to round 7 :) Even with all the discussion going on blue flat is the best dcs online experience for me. See you in the air -
I tried everthing but for me it was a one way upgrade :( Can't get anything except .7 working after first install.

Are the throttle sticks itself a bit loose on your side (the left one for me)? For 300€ I think I will return the unit and get another one to see if this was just on my unit or if its a generell problem.
-
Hey there, sorry to reopen such old thread, but my issue fits here i think. I just bought a new HOTAS Warthog (finally yes yes yes :joystick:), but I am kind of disappointed with the throttle section. First of all the left of those two throttle sticks is a bit "loose" as I can move it sideways a little (about 2 mm each way). Is this normal? As for myself I really wondered about the quality difference between the stick and the throttle :( The second issue I am having is the HOTAS slew "stick". First of all it was very very sensitive and in my first flight with the A-10 i couldn't even place the TGP where I wanted it to be. So I adjusted the axis sensivity within dcs and now its far better already, but I was still not convinced by the controlls of the slew. I went into the normal windows joystick controllers window and everytime I slew in upwards or downwards (with my normal hand positioning on the throttle) it moves a little bit sideways on the vertical axis. I moved the throttle box around I tried to move the stick with one finger while watching the movement on the screen and on the stick and even while watching it was incredible difficult to just move the stick into one direction without moving it sideways (not to speak from the normal hand resting position). I think this fact does a huge amount towards the "sloopiness" I am experiencing. My question again, is this normal? Thanks for your replies See you in the skies, Heesh
