  1. Confirmed, only works with stream VR which gives me less performance them oculus
  2. I tried the previous version a while back but did not notice a difference. When i enabled the debug mode i did not see the visualization of the super sampling area. I now noticed the GitHub text says 'steamvr'. Should this work for Oculus VR too? SteamVR is much slower for me than Oculus VR -> do i need to configure something, or is this the common perception with the Oculus Quest 2.
  3. Putting the headset on the table for a minute resets my fps, but it is not a fix, more a patch. ED customer support could not fix it for me. I had less issues in the last stable version and I also suspect that custom skins make them problem occur more often, as I never have this issue in single player.
  4. I see a difference between Waggs' tutorial and my own experience. Am I doing something wrong? When I select the AG master mode the radar images appears to be just fine. When I zoom in using the OSB button, regardless the level of zoom, the radar image goes black. I also noticed that when i set the azimuth to 10 degrees, the 10 degrees 'cone' is just black. The rest of the display ia painted correctly.
  5. Same here pastranario3. I only recognize those tears from using OpenVR FSR1.1 with 'extreme' settings. So I was thinking that ED included FSR. However, replacing the DLL with the FSR version does not solve it. Hopefully we'll get a new version quickly.
  6. Could you guys at ED release an updated manual when a beta release is published? I do like the vids on youtube, but I prefer an up-to-date manual for step-by-step execution of the new procedures.
  7. BTW: in VR I reduced textures from mid to low and reduced pixel density from 1.7 to 1.5 to get my 'normal' FPS. To compensate for the lower pixel density i set MSAA to 2x instead of OFF (as i normally prefer pixels) and the other SS options to ON.
  8. This FPS issue seems related to another issue in DCS: being the lack of asynchronous processing. I cannot tell if it is true, but it sure has the symptoms of it. Asynchronous processing means things run in parralel. Something a programmer would do to get data from files or online resources, while continuing to render. It is not the same thing as 'multi-core', but more multi thread. This is very obvious when loading missions (in VR). Moving your head will create v-sync like issues. It is also very noticeable in multiplayer when internet latency comes into play. Also, when the map loads while flying (preload setting) you will notice stutters while loading. The relationship with the fps drop we ow experience could be that frames are not rendered in advance (prediction) sufficiently by the CPU, resulting in low fps as the GPU cannot keep up with the realtime events. Or that the CPU prerender proces is too limited in resources, causing the GPU not maxing out. Well, hopefully just an intermediate step towards Vulcan. But from the multiplayer experience (also in previous versions), the architecture needs some work.
  9. I am down on fps too. I also noticed some flickering in VR. Like somebody else wrote here: the latest GeForce driver does not seem to be a good match with the beta. I did notice a performance drop in other games too with the latest (two) GeForce updates. I am on windows 11.
  10. Remove it from your head, place it on a table, put it back on some time later.
  11. Meanwhile i discovered that the issue resolves itself when i take of the VR headset for a minute. I don't know yet whether this solves it for the remainder of the flight.
  12. My FPS drops to around 10 in multi-player. Unclear why and when, but usually after at least 10 minutes. I use the Oculus Quest 2. The issue does not happen in single player. Sometimes, the FPS recovers after a few minutes, but meanwhile it is hard to play the simulator. I don't see a CPU nor GPU spike when it happens. I did not have this issue with the shader mods installed so i suspect a rendering or texture compiling issue. The issue is present in the current release version, as in the current beta.
  13. Please post your successful strategies for using AI flight members. (no discussion, please share knowledge) You must have experienced this too: they always get shot down by SA-19s during CAS missions. So how can we have them successfully attack air defences and ground targets without making the same beginner mistakes every time.
  14. The optimal settings depend on what you prefer (fluid flying vs good looks). Obviously: turning down settings will give better performance, increasing settings will improve visual quality. And there is also a choice to make between resolution and 'aliasing'. -> the higher the resolution (DCS: Pixel Density), the less need there is for anti-aliasing (DCS: MSAA). I personally prefer a PD of 1.7 (with GTX 3070 graphics card) versus PD 1.3 with MSAA 2x. I wouldn't spent my time on NVidia settings and VR settings outside DCS> DCS overwrites it all. Things that will help whatever your settings are: FSR: https://github.com/fholger/openvr_fsr This will give you a higher frame rate without changing settings You can tune the config file (sharpness, debug mode and fsr area) Reshade mod: https://reshade.me/ (better visuals without increasing the visual settings -> more bang for your bugs) Regardless general remarks on the internet: a modern CPU is bored during gameplay. Memory....not interesting if you have an SSD drive, GPU is the limiting factor. One could also say that some software design issues are the limiting factor, but that is not for you to fix. (network delay interrupts frame generation, access violation (bug) causes frame rate to drop and never recover). Don't trust the FPS numbers in DCS (enable by CTRL-pause). Trust your eyes Finally: the more object (planes, cars...) in your mission, the worse the performance. Multiplayer will reduce performance.
  15. i applied the shader mod with great succes, but when joing a multiplayer server i couldn't see my viper cockpit. Any suggestions how to fix that?
  16. Nice idea! Would make it more realistic: Kneepad on the knee.
  17. I really like this campaign. Complements to the creator. Executing the campaign is very cool and a great learning experience, especially with all the documentation that comes with it. Makes the understanding of 'it all' much bigger. Is there an option to repeat individual missions instead of restarting the whole campaign?
  18. +1 Related: external lights are off on the Flight members when using the Push Time feature (which is nice :D). Lights are 'always on' when flying the full missions, which is kinda ...not so smart of those wingman'. No comm option to tell them what to do, and they don't follow my lead.
