Last night when I started up a server the server list scrolled off the screen, so pretty active for a Tuesday night. Now all but like one or two of them were locked... but they were up! :) I've had some luck with open servers. Never run into people Team Killing but definitely run into people not respecting (or even understanding) which runway is active (me landing after having contacted ATC properly while someone was taking off from the other end of the runway and a third person was AFK parked on the runway after landing) or not following waypoints or not getting on teamspeak then getting angry when they have no idea what's going on.

Next you'll be saying that a pilot can't put the plane on autopilot and go make some popcorn while flying to the Fence In Point I bet!

All you need from Steam is the activation key. Library -> Properties of A-10C then CD Key or something. Then head over to DCS's webpage and download the 1.1.1.1 full install: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=135&lang=en And activate that with your CD key from Steam. No patches needed, nothing installed via Steam needed.

After your fourth death in a mission and instead of sitting there clicking the same buttons for another eight minutes for the fifth time in a row you hit autostart and go stretch your legs and get a drink. Now you apparently come back to Master Caution going crazy... It's probably literally one line of code to change the auto start sequence to turn that thing off. If you're talking attention to detail, that change should have been noted and fixed in the autostart feature when the new feature was added. I'm cool either way, but it was rather confusing and annoying when it went off after I turned on my inverter last night after more than a year of no warning sounds when you click that switch. :)

The whole point of Auto start up is so that you don't have to press anything. :joystick: ;)

Possibly mentioned in here, but who's idea was it to map Mic Switch Up to "Stick to Trimmer Mode"? On the TM Warthog the Mic Switch Up has never been mapped to anything and makes a perfect TeamSpeak PTT button. So you can imagine my surprise and horror and confusion last night while teaching a new Warthog owner how to fly and every time we talked our planes would go wildly out of trim! There's nothing in the patch notes about this strange mapping choice. Seems even the mouse thumb button (my other PTT) was mapped to that as well. So crazy! :)

You wait for it to refresh or contact customer service. It should really never get that low. I fully uninstalled and deleted 1.1.1.0 last night and installed 1.1.1.1 and it didn't use up an activation. So unless you're installing on a dozen computers you should always be fine.

Why was there 4 minutes of nothing before the effect you were trying to show kicked in? :)

I use mine for TO Trim :) Can you map Radio Option 1 or something to the button instead of trying to map it to "F1"?

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
kylania replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Soon™ pretty please? :) -
The previous setting was apparently the "real" setting, but in game was resulting in lawn darts. So people figured out 1800 was good so they've changed it default to 1800 so we don't have to change the inventory every time we fly anymore. I imagine it'll change back to the real setting once ED figures out why the real setting wasn't working as expected in game?

HTTP is stuck at 100KB/sec for one file and 900 bytes/sec for another. FTP has never connected once today. Torrent is 4KB/sec.
-
I wish... I'm on fiber basically directly connected to AT&T's backbone.
-
Just try again, when it asks for a password (or the HTTP links put you back at the homepage) it just means their servers are full and to try back later.

I must be getting better at DCS, since I understood what most of those changes mean! :) http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/patches/dcs-wh_patch_1.1.1.1_en/

Your post from the Black Shark area is my point exactly, "functional trees" would be a concern for Black Shark, but no A-10C pilot is going to say, "Whoa there's a Shilka, I'd better drop to 15 feet off the deck and hide behind those trees to avoid it!" or "I'll just fly at 250kts 20 feet from the ground and hide behind this tree line to sneak up on those tanks". :) It's all the same engine now anyway, so it's great that it's happening, just confused why an A-10 pilot would be asking about this.
-
For the Black Shark I can see this being an issue, but how often does an A-10C get INTO trees or in a situation where trees being 3D matters?

SLI sounds great, but there's very few games that actually work with it. Most of the ones I play have pretty big issues with it, if it works at all. Thankfully it's easy enough to turn off though. :)

Welcome Dean, good to have you here. :)

There's a few iPad apps that allow interactive control of the A-10C. Far more than simply reading PDFs or charts.

TrackIR tip for less annoying behavior
kylania replied to wolfstriked's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I use snapviews and TIR constantly. All my snap views are just on the numpad since I'll only ever use them on the ground or while on autopilot (usually!!) so don't needs Hands-On at that moment so can easily reach over hit Numpad0 Numpad2 and get a face full of CDU. :) -
TrackIR tip for less annoying behavior
kylania replied to wolfstriked's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Wags posted his a few months back and it worked much nicer and smoother than any others I'd tried. The only "shaky cam" stuff was looking sideways in the extremes and even then it wasn't bad. So the recentering you're talking about isn't as necessary as it is with a default profile. Also if you're using the clip make sure your camera is on the same side as the clip or else your face will obscure the sensors much sooner than it should. -
How to get AI to Take off again after landing
kylania replied to Krunkskimo's topic in User Created Missions General
Unless the player is actually going to see this happen multiple times why would this be necessary? It's cool for immersion when you're starting up, but during the mission is it necessary?
