  1. Call in SEAD or use AGM-65s I'd say. You probably shouldn't be gun running AAA in an A-10. :)
  2. And I find it works exactly the opposite for me, with FD on and hold trimming I'm constantly fighting the aircraft while with lots of small trim adjustments and no FD I get the aircraft do to exactly what I want it to do. Just so many ways of flying! :)
  3. If they'd tell us what it is the fighting in this thread could stop. That's one reason to finally announce it. :)
  4. Save and just get the Warthog first. You'll never have to worry about mapping buttons or combos or profiles or what is mapped to what or any of the torture most people deal with playing DCS, you'll just fly and attack targets the way you're supposed to. :)
  5. You should get some ground crew to hang onto the tips of the lower rotors, holding them down, till the upper ones are moving fast enough not to collide.
  6. I tried to use the bullseye call from an F-16 to find it's targets. The targets were at the bottom of a mountain and the bullseye call was placed on the other side high of the mountain. For someone figuring it out while flying a fast mover I'm guessing that's 'close enough'? :)
  7. Here's three videos from beta about how to use them:
  8. Umm.. maybe? Slew the camera onto target. TMS Up to track, then fire once in range.
  9. For anyone that doesn't know how, it takes two clicks to open the door and drop the ladder. First (dual green arrow icon) click on the cap to open it then second (green circle cross icon) click on the little red button under the cap to drop the ladder.
  10. When you click the button it doesn't drop the ladder? From a cold start without doing anything it's opening for me fine. I'll try with engines on and all that jazz next.
  11. To check your departing airport, press F10, then click on the > ME < button. That will center on your plane. Then just scroll in till you see your airport. The runways are indeed Runway number x10 = direction, approximately. So Runway 13 points around 130 while runway 9 would point 90, due East.
  12. Had a chance to try out this mission tonight and it looks pretty good. A few comments: 1. I really dislike missions that disable things like external views and the map (well, at least yourself on the map - trying to figure out which way to taxi is a pain if you can't see where you are). Hiding enemy units I can understand, but disabling missile view or friendly aircraft or yourself on the map is just aggravating. :) It should be up to the player to disable that kind of thing really. 2. I'd move the "loiter and wait" message to the Fence In waypoint. It was a long trip without knowing what to do from take off to waypoint 2 (RP). Putting it on the Fence In waypoint would make more sense since that's when you'd prepare for operations and than head to the AO. 3. The delay after getting to the RP and getting the first task seemed a bit long? Maybe it wasn't too bad, just seemed a bit long to me. 4. It's kinda hard to learn from missions when everything on the mission is hidden in the editor. I was trying to see how you did the awesome light trucks illuminating the runway thing (turns out it's just part of the airport) but having to go into every item on the list and unhiding it was a pain. Sure it makes the ME look cleaner, but it's more difficult to learn from. 5. Liked the coords entering thing, always a nice touch. 6. Would be neat to have SEAD flights take off in front of you while you start up. They seemed to take off around the same time as I did, but I only ever saw them on the TAD due to the restrictive mission settings. I've really only scratched the surface with this mission but it's quite impressive for a first one! I made a mistake of loitering around Angels 4 and when the first site popped up I got wasted since I happened to be pretty close and directly overhead. Still got my targets though! Looking forward to your next mission. Thanks!
  13. I would delete that mission and start from scratch. :)
  14. The latest version is 1.1.1.0. You'll see the number in the bottom left corner of the little blue splash screen before you enter game. The quickest way to test what you want is the mission editor. Just start it, place a plane near your airport, switch it to Player and Takeoff from Ramp then click the blue button. No need to save or anything. To change the skin you'd click the payload button (2nd button in the bar in the right middle) and in the bottom right is the dropdown for that.
  15. Well, there was this quote about it: Link Hasn't really been much else said that I'm seeing about it.
  16. Whoops, sure seems like it! :joystick:
  17. Aww, and I just found this too!
  18. On the TAD screen click the NET button in the bottom right corner. That will bring up a new page where along the right side of the TAD you'll see GRP ID and OWN ID. You can type in a number, like 01, in the UFC or CDU then click the GRP ID button and it will switch to the number you typed. To return to the normal TAD screen click the TAD button in the top left.
  19. The community was in an uproar when they did that with Black Shark 2. ED just can't win either way. :joystick:
  20. I'm wondering the same thing! :)
  21. I'm fairly certain you do at 0 AGL. :megalol:
  22. Well, if you press CNTCO you're denying the missing, saying "Nope, I can't attack that" and ending the process. So you'd want to press WILCO if you are going ahead with the attack.
  23. Does that mean that some "NEW TASKING" will have the triangle yet others won't? Or that some JTAC won't do the whole data link tasking thing?
  24. China Hat Forward is mapped to the V key. China Hat Aft is the C key. IIRC = "If I recall correctly". So with your TAD as SOI press "V" once. The upper corner of the TAD will say EXP1 and the map will turn so that "up" on the map is North. It will stop following your plane as it normally does, but you'll be able to scroll around the map now using slew commands. Press V two more times to get back to the normal "follow my plane and point the map where I'm flying" mode. The WILCO is a green word that shows on the left side of the TAD when you have tasking. Across from it on the right side will be CNTCO in red. Click the outside button on the TAD for whichever option you want. I didn't know it sets your SPI if you WILCO though, I'll have to try that out. :)
  25. Stupid question, but you've zoomed out (TAD SOI - DMS Down) on the map enough to see where the red triangle is?
