  1. I'm fairly certain there's a better tutorial out there, but I can't find it. :) I'll check again when I get home.
  2. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1161326&postcount=1
  3. Who's Angel, got a link? :)
  4. Those are amazing covers, but sadly he's not selling them anymore. Even the website is gone now.
  5. This one I think: http://files.lockon.ru/en/86362/
  6. With my Saitek pedals I had to reverse the axis, since by default they were "on".
  7. Works great for me in BS2. In ArmA 2 I have a lot more control over helicopters and planes. My only complaints are that I haven't found the sweet spot with the throttle (I still have more control with QZ for example) and while I have better control flying in helos, like I think about it and it does what I wanted to happen, I don't feel like I have the same control over pitching up to slow down for example.
  8. Wasn't available on Canada's Amazon page, but the US Amazon page has a Pro for $150.
  9. Saitek X-52, even Pro, should be cheaper than that. However the Warthog is $200 better than the Saitek and totally worth playing from your truck. That said the X-52, especially Pro, is a really solid stick and will last you years. But for flying A-10C there simply isn't anything better than the Warthog - flying with the Warthog is a completely different and improved experience over any other HOTAS.
  10. From there east cost I see 26 servers up. 10 are open (no password) and only 6 are under 100 ping. This is actually a good thing, since before the holiday sales there would usually be maybe 7 servers only 2 of which were open (basically stallturn and that china one).
  11. 1. Yup, something like 22 each I think. 2. Paddle is set to TO Trim. Mic Up is set to TeamSpeak. Left Throttle Button is set to Gear Toggle. 3. Never installed TARGET, don't need it. Other than some toggle switches above the APU switch there isn't really anything you don't use on the Warthog that you could assign to anything like NVGs or TIR Center. Since I so rarely use those I just stick with the keyboard for them. Gear however I did map to the button I mentioned above. Really the main benefit of the Warthog is that you don't need to remap anything. That's very satisfying. :)
  12. Glad to hear you're airborne! :)
  13. The T-55 and T-80 are types of Russian tanks. The T-55 being older and the T-80 being a more modern main battle tank. As far as threats to you go, they are not much of a risk. Their machine guns can hit you but you need to be real low. They are a great risk against friendly vehicles however. The 2B14 Podnos mortar is a 82mm mortar, usually found in pairs I think? They are no threat to you but often are a threat to friendly forces and bases. Often a CAS mission will be given to take out a mortar site that's attacking friendly units. Basically your main threats would be SAMs and MANPADs, these have missiles that can track you and shoot you down. After that would be anti-air vehicles like the Shilka or a Zu-23 truck which have powerful anti-air cannons which can shoot you down as well. Once those risks have been taken care of either by you using Maverick missiles or by friendly airplanes assisting then as an A-10 pilot you call the guys on the ground (JTAC) to ask for targets or follow your mission orders and attack any specific targets. The order to attack things in often depends on the kinds of weapons you have as well. I'll usually try to take out anti-air defenses with my Mavericks. Drop GBU-12 laser guided bombs on hard targets like the T-55/T-80 tanks. Then gun or CBU-87 cluster bomb the softer targets like infantry or trucks. GPS guided weapons like the GBU-38 JDAM are good against structure targets like bridges and buildings. It all really depends on the mission though.
  14. Welcome to DCS A-10C!
  15. Paid travel? From the US? Sign me up! :)
  16. :joystick:
  17. Do you have your profile online anywhere for that? My friend just got one and we're having trouble finding a good layout for the buttons.
  18. Don't use Steam for A-10C. Just copy down the CD key for it and use that to activate your full 1.1.1.1 download directly from ED's website. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=135&lang=en
  19. Hi Cpt Falcon! :)
  20. Trim changes constantly. Any time you change speed you'll need to change it. Don't think of the autopilot as a trim replacement, it's not.
  21. It's on sale till Jan 2nd, so might as well buy it cheap now. :)
  22. That's the number one reason I dislike TARS. :) It should not work like that at all. ACRE, a similar radio realism mod for ArmA2, works how it should. If someone is running active ACRE and you're not near them you can't hear them unless you're on the same radio channel. HOWEVER, if someone is in channel and NOT using ACRE you can hear them and talk to them just fine. TARS blocking out everyone that isn't actively in game and on your in game radio frequency is a horrible "feature" making it impossible to communicate with people not in game or people having trouble getting TARS setup. The only people it should block are those using TARS and in a situation where you couldn't hear them in game - not everyone by default.
  23. I've been dropping them from the default 1800 and hit 3-5 targets each drop usually, using CCRP. Really depends though. Sometimes I'll hit my target and nothing else other times I'll hit everything but my target.
  24. The game itself is 4GB don't forget. Then 2GB for each patch. Or just 4GB for the game. :) You can't patch without first having the game installed. So rather than have to store patches and patches, just install the full game and be done with it. Faster, less download, more fun. :)
  25. RWin + Home I think it is? It's useful to watch to see what to start when, but it's more rewarding to do it all yourself :)
