  1. Hopefully this is getting moved forward. ? :helpsmilie:
  2. +1. Control setting under main, UIlayer spyglass zoom. Use a keybind.
  3. Or, wait till you have enemy cornered at your 6, then pop your brakes and Ctrl-E-E-E...
  4. A-10 pilots are known to have carried and used binocs during missions.
  5. Spyglass zoom very nice!!
  6. Been flying since the Flanker days... since before my kids were born. Now they are both grown and moved out, I'm retired, and still wish for this time saving feature! Wish for the ability to save a mission, then rejoin at a later date to continue...
  7. Just tried your method of lining up the two reference points on the right top of the HUD frame. (using VR) I adjust my vertical height, so that the top of the two nuts appear level. I find the top approx. 1/3 of the HUD is out of view. In order to get full HUD in view I have to lean head forward and down.
  8. I do not use the pilot body for the simple reason it restricts too much of the cockpit. Particularly the pilots left arm. In RL you would simply move your arm, in the sim... no can do.
  9. First thing I do after hopping in the cockpit is adjust the seating position fore/aft and up/down.
  10. I'm quite happy using kneeboard (custom checklist added) in VR. Works great for me.
  11. Gave away my TrackIR recently. It was in drawer gathering dust. Have been using a Rift CV1 since they came out and have not looked back. imo, like going from a horse and buggy to a Ferrari. FWIW, I know nothing of the Cosmos, but after simulating in VR there is no going back for me. One has to decide if they desire 4k clarity, viewing the simulated world through a window, or lower resolution combined with utter and complete immersion of actually sitting in the simulated cockpit. If it is the latter, it is VR for certain. Now, I'm off to the Persian Gulf. There is an island near the Straight of Hormuz which has been over run by baddies, I have the keys to an A-10C loaded with LGB's and been given the number a JTAC with eyes on the whole mess. He wants some stuff to blow up. And I aim to oblige! ;)
  12. Thanks for the clarification.
  13. lol Yoda. All I'm saying is the graphics update to the A-10C will be great. Any improvement to the fidelity of the model/weapons would be awesome. I dont know who at ED agreed to what with whom, or what may or may not be revealed about the flight performance of an airframe that first flew 47 years ago... but if it can be tweaked ever so slightly to come closer to real world performance, well, that would be just peachy keen imo. No matter what, I am going to continue enjoying this module for a longtime. :pilotfly:
  14. Link or it didn't happen. ;)
  15. Why argue against making the sim more realistic?
  16. Just dropped some and they work ok here. Are you doing TMS up and then TMS up long to make it a SPI?
  17. +1 to what Habu says above. It would be great if someone could run this up the ED chain and see what comes of it. The ED A-10C is a fantastic, mature sim which could possibly be tweaked to make it even better!
  18. Yeah! C-130 gunship would be a day one purchase for me. Dont need to fly it... just need to have the COD4 AC130 Spectre ability in DCS.
  19. "Can someone please configure an A-10, from left to right, as follows and see what your airspeed is with the following loadout and parameters:" My results below. Temp 26c in mission editor. Altimeter 30.24 1150 rnds TP, 9500lbs gas, 1xLAU-105 with 1x CATM-9 STA 1, rocket pod STA 2, single Mavs on LAU-117's STA 3 & 9, 2xTER's of BDU-33's STA 4 & 8, 1xLITENING TGP STA 10 Max power @4500' gives me: Speed 291 KIAS sustained vs RL 310-315 KIAS FF 2900 lbs/hr each side vs RL 3000 lbs/hr ITTs 790 vs RL 830 ITTs FANs 81% vs RL Fans 85% 500 AGL and fly 300 KIAS. Performed a loaded roll with the TVV between 0 and 5 degrees. Steady tone at 4.2-4.3G after turning approx. 40 degrees. vs RL 5G's at least for the first 60 degrees Notes 1: Pulling any more than this resulted in the chopped tone. In order to sustain any further turn beyond 40 degrees have to reduce G significantly due to rapid speed bleed off. 2: Wonder if this may be a drag (weapon) calculation issue? When I fly the same profile with no external stores, I get steady tone at 4.8G chopped at 5. Able to turn much more also... 3: I read they have been adjusting drag on some of the F/A-18 weapons and pods... maybe the Hawg needs some attention in this area?
  20. Thanks for this info. Questions: 1) OAT 26 degrees... was this as read from the CDU? 2) The IAS you were reading from the steam gauge or the HUD? 3) When you do the level turn how fast are you increasing the G? 1 G/sec rate or 2? In the sim, with no seat of the pants visceral feeling, and a short throw control stick, it is extremely easy to go stop to stop with the controls... something that in R/L you would be less inclined to do (certainly for pitch). Thanks
  21. That one is only Nevada. These two work with Caucasus map. Day time: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/59524/ Night: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/59551/ Cheers
  22. Hi, Make sure to turn on your UHF radio (middle radio) & tune freq to tanker 275. You can then contact Texaco A-OK. This works in your mission. You might also find this AAR mission useful: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1795805/ Cheers,
  23. Some comical bias being displayed in this thread...
  24. As a r/w pilot, I manipulate the controls in order to make the a/c do what I want. If you were to ask me after a r/w take off, how many inches did move the stick aft on rotation? I would say I honestly dont know... I move the controls to achieve the desired result. Same in sim. Fly the aircraft not the controls. Now if we are talking about flying a sim with keyboard or mouse for flt controls, I would agree with your above statement. Cheers, :pilotfly:
