  1. Same for me. Is not working.

    Smoke System?

Is the airshow smoke system installed in the EA Yak?
  3. Best wishes Cap!
  4. I would not want to fly the Yak (with it's unique attitude indicator) IFR... I'd probably be inverted in short order. lol
  5. Landed gear up to see how that would go... lots of sparks shooting out the back as the tail ground along the asphalt. Nice effect. Selecting the gear down after she slid to a stop resulted in the plane bouncing into the air and flipping onto its back in a weird glitchy, somewhat amusing spasm. ;)
  6. Its from this thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=198338&highlight=Physical+IPD+HMD+this%2C+AKA+Focal&page=4 Post #38
  7. My understanding of the DCS IPD (poorly named IMO) is as explained by SkateZilla below: Physical IPD on the HMD Does this, AKA Focal IPD, Adjusting the IPD of the Lenses to Match your Eyes for clarity and reducing eye strain. Rendering IPD changes the IPD between the rendering viewports within the engine itself., thus adjusting scale. Matching the Rendering IPD to the Focal/HMD's IPD will make every Appear 1:1, Closing Rendering IPD will make objects seem larger, Opening Rendering IPD will make objects seem smaller.. Basically, you're scaling your head size, smaller Virtual IPD will shrink your head, making everything seem huge, larger VIPD will make your grow your head, making everything seem small.
  8. Bah. That's what the Hog is for. :music_whistling:
  9. I too noticed a while back that the cockpit of the A-10c appeared to have grown a bit. Seemed to occur around when the Hornet came out in early release. I now adjust the in game IPD when I switch between the Hornet and the Hog.

    Spin pattern

Lex talked about spinning at the carrier in one of his vids. Not sure which one. They are all good though. Check em out here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPqnAPcQSxyCqJ0CZu9qMmg
  11. Apples to oranges? Are you testing for FPS exactly the same as those with better FPS? Same mission, same settings? We need a standard DCS FPS test mission, then it will be apples to apples. My suggestion would be this: I would like to see ED provide a standard DCS FPS test mission. Cheers,
  12. Mods, It seems what the op is saying is that the A-10 cockpit is larger now than he remembers it. which was my impression recently as well. Has it actually changed? is this an IPD issue? Only the shadow knows...

    Holy Cow!

    Ok. I'll close this thread with a cow joke. What do you call a cow with a twitch? . . . . . . . . . . . . Beef jerky. Your welcome. ;)
  14. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=213643 Have a look at this thread ^
  15. ^ +1 Grab some popcorn and read through the above thread. Answered some of my questions/concerns on the Hornet early access, WIP. Cheers,
  16. Well FWIW wicki says this about the GE404: "It also demonstrates high responsiveness to control inputs, spooling from idle to full afterburner in 4 seconds." Article in FlightGlobal https://www.flightglobal.com/FlightPDFArchive/1981/1981%20-%203726.PDF says: "The F404 is very responsive, typically accelerating from ground idle to military power in under 4 seconds." In the sim I'm seeing (based on FF) idle to full AB in approx 7 seconds.
  17. I think the AOA/hook issues abv 33000 lbs may be enough to keep guys from doing this much.
  18. It was a simple question, not a demand. lol. :music_whistling:
  19. This is what the Navy Hornet pilot said about the DCS F/A-18 flt model in his vid. "I gotta say it feels like there's a little bit of too much lag, or too much drag or something like that with the throttle response, because sometimes I find myself, I gotta go into burner with a relatively simple maneuver like a 30 degree angle of bank, it just seems like too much..." So that's what a r/l Hornet guy says. Any official comment Wags? Cheers,
  20. Have a listen to the comments at approx. 22:30. Then go back and watch the rest of the vid. Loads of good info.
  21. Well, I'm a former jet pilot and this feels off to me. Never flew a Hornet but I'm going to go with my gut on this one and also the comments of the r/l Hornet driver.
  22. In another thread about the real life Hornet guy who is making vids I read this: "As of the 3rd vid he has only commented once on the flight model but one observation he has that is shared by many including myself if the throttle response is slow/weak/ iirc. While doing pattern work he had to push the throttle really high and into burner just to achieve another 10 knots or so. To early to call it a FM issue or something that needs tweaking but I am looking forward to when he turns his attention to the fidelity of the aircraft." This ^ is what I am noticing also. I'm using the Warthog Throttle/Stick. Problem could be the drag as currently modeled... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=213353
  23. You find the throttle response on approach to be very sensitive? In the Hornet? :pilotfly:
  24. Is the current engine response to throttle input accurate? or is this an area that is still a WIP? It seems to to take (large) fist fulls of of power to get a response from the engines. I'm finding this particularly challenging when on approach. Thanks
  25. Another thing that may not be so obvious... if you need glasses for DISTANCE, you WILL NEED THEM IN VR. If you think the screens in the VR headset are only an inch from my eyes so i wont need my glasses... you are wrong and your experience will be miserable.
