Interesting. They look pretty bulky, though. I've been using this, which improves the default sound. They clip onto the headset. You get a similar effect by cupping your ears with your hands with the headset on.

You're a gent! Kudos to you.

I used to work at Farnborough Airfield. Every day was an airshow with the Comet, DC-10, Snoopy, and various other trials. When the airshow was on, I had free access to all areas. I was lucky enough to sit in an Apache, Black Hawk and the cockpit of the Antonov AN-225 Mriya parked on the airfield's non-public side - sadly destroyed in the Russian / Ukraine war.. Watching the four Harriers take off from the top of the SpaceCraft building was amazing as well as feeling the reheat from the Mirage 2000. They were good times. It was the place where I fell in love with the F-16. Here are some photos from the 1990 airshow. The Su-35 I took myself - a colleague managed to get in the cockpit - lucky git! null

I just found out that Globular Cluster makes stereo headphones for the Quest Pro that plug into the QP. Is anyone using them? What is the sound like? The Globular Cluster comfort pack has made a huge difference to my QP, so I expect the headphones to have a similar improvement. They're similar to the headphones used on the G2. They look a bit big, though.

Not unless you either have a mount specifically for the pro or use a number of pads each end to pad out the curve.

Available for £134.99 plus postage and packing for a pair of Slugmice. These are Bluetooth mice without cursor control. They provide left, right, scroll up, scroll down, middle mouse and back button. Cursor control can be performed with an Oculus hand-tracking headset or an Ultaleap Motion Controller (either version 1 or 2). HTCC (Hand Tracking For Cockpit Clicking) is also required in either case. Other headsets may offer hand tracking to mouse cursor control. Battery run-time - days! Charge time - less than an hour! Game immersion level - huge - just point your hand and click! Shipping to most countries is available. Full details here: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/344857-slugmouse-a-mouse-button-emulator-for-hand-tracked-cockpit-clicking/ Send me a private message with your left and right index finger size and email address, and I will make them to fit you.

I have two crystal balls on my desk. They’re quite difficult to master. Still learning.
-
Oh right ok. But nonetheless, still dependent on ED being around despite having paid for the software. I find that concerning.
-
Isn’t that only for a couple of days? After that you have to authenticate it with the server again.
-
The irony of all this is that at anytime, should ED close up shop for whatever reason, none of our installs will work anymore without the license verification server. I’d be more concerned about that.

That’s right, or on top. You might find a CAD model to mount it to your headset. Before I had a 3D printer I used a modified go pro mount. I’m happy to print mounts for the ultra leap if there’s a CAD model for the headset with any Slugmouse order at no extra cost.

Then when you retire you can't afford the subscription... along with all the other subscriptions such as Adobe and all the other games and applications that you're advocating to switch to a subscription model for. You'll have nothing left to live for. If ED have financial problems, they need to sort it out through marketing and getting a constant stream of fresh blood into the game.

Only if using a router would you need ethernet to it so that you get maximum throughput to the router and then across WiFi to the headset. If using a hotspot on your motherboard, your PC is already directly connected to the WiFi transmitter via the motherboard. It's all about maximum data throughput to the headset and reducing latency. If you had WiFi to the router and then WiFi to the headset, the latency would be doubled.

When I tried VD, I set my Z790 motherboard's onboard Wi-Fi 6E AX210 to "mobile hotspot" mode. It seemed to work ok.

Microsoft tried... and failed.

Setting to reduce Forest flickering(?) ?
slughead replied to Keith Briscoe's topic in Virtual Reality
You need to increase the setting of “Visibility of Trees” and “Loading Radius”. With your system you can max these out. -
Have you guys raised this on the VD discord?

Is hand tracking with the Pico 4 possible in DCS? If so, what options are there? Actual hands shown and if so, how does it perform for cockpit interaction? Is there an option to just control the mouse pointer instead of VR hands?
-
Or perhaps a monopoly of VR OS, like Microsoft, by trying to make theirs the defacto OS.

Update: Bugfix: Fixed the condition where the Slugmouse would not auto-sleep if the paired PC disconnects, i.e., it is turned off before the Slugmouse enters the sleep state.

I find though that say you have mapped mouse buttons to your stick, you can’t turn and look at cockpit controls far left and far right and hold/control the stick buttons at the same time. If you have a headset with hand tracking, you may be able to use the hand tracking to control the mouse pointer and wireless finger mounted mouse emulators, such as the Slugmouse, to perform the mouse clicks. This makes interaction with the cockpit hand based and improves immersion. Oculus headsets have hand tracking and can be used with HTCC to control the mouse. Others that don’t have hand tracking can be used with an Ultraleap Motion controller to perform hand tracking along with HTCC (hand tracked cockpit clicking).
