  2. Long over due for a Mud Hen Sim!!!!
  3. China Hat Aft Short, Keyboard Command, C
  4. Actually its not all that bad. The 16 has a lot more. But I'm not saying that the hog doesn't have a good amount of safety wire. It's just the the 16 has a bunch of shit they keep cramming in there. The A-10 is basically hollow in the center fuselage.
  5. It's official, its #93 in the Beta 5 Change log
  6. The Air force has those also, the slang term for them is The Hush House. I've never had the death wish to go warm my hands with the air comming out of the can at 100% Aug, cause the wind going though there is like being in a CAT 3 Hurricane. Even if it is -30 wind going through there like the winters in AK, F* THAT! :)
  7. Thats the rounds of the T-72 that fired at Wags before he fired the GAU
  8. Take a look here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=59208 StrongHam has a excellent profile of the x52 Pro. I cant imagine flying the sim without it (because I fly with an X52). He also has some TIR info and VAC profiles in his signature. All well worth a look. As for the TrackIR profile thing alot of people use Matt Wags profile http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=59974 Some like it, some don't, I use it and I really don't have any problems. I haven't really noticed a difference from the default TBH. Hope I helped out.
  9. Nice Read, Congrats
  10. Me too, always right stick. Unless one day they come out with a left seat hotas setup for the airbus or cirrus aircraft. :)
  11. Did you set the target you are trying to attack as the SPI? I've had the same problem before and after setting it as SPI the LGB came off the rack.
  12. That will be my next adventure. Im waiting for the prices to drop some. They are insane right now.
  13. I've also recently upgraded my rig. Before the upgrade my spec were: Intel Q6700 C2Q @2.66GHz 4GB Corsair DDR2 800 PC2 6400 RAM And my stab at better FPS EVGA GTX460 FTW 1GB Windows XP 32 Now this was during Beta 3, but when I was just attacking static targets I was getting 20-30 frames with settings on medium, nothing on high, but when a moving convoy unit spawned, slideshow, basically unplayable. Can you say bottleneck? I gave up on the game. Didn't play for about a month and a half. Then I finally got off my ass and started doing my research on the upgrade of parts I could afford, plus I caught a few holiday deals. Eventually after going back and forth between a E8600 and staying with 775 and adding more RAM or spending a lot more money, I just made myself realize that even though it would be more expensive it would be better to go 1156. I decided to go with an i5. That meant new motherboard and for that I spent the most on out of all the parts, even with discounts. Got some top quality RAM and water cooler and Win 7 64. Updated specs in my signature below. Got the parts installed and got everything updated, then I let the motherboard do it's thing let it overclock my CPU with the push of a button:thumbup: No need to overclock my GPU its already running at 850 Core and 1700 Shader from the factory. From what I have read most standard GTX 460 barely make it to 900 Core and 1800 Shader and be stable. Now this rig just eats DCS's lunch, I have consistent 60 FPS in cockpit and higher. Drops to high 40's when looking at the normal heavy areas, and it only drops to high 20's when gun rounds hit, but no stutter. All settings on high, except no civ traffic, with HDR and TSAAA and 16x MSAA at 16x10 cause I only have 22'' Monitor. It cost me about 900 bucks but it was way overdue. My last setup was more than 3 years old. I am very satisfied with my choices. Now, no more worries about FPS or stutters just strap in and go BRING THE PAIN!!!!!:pilotfly:
  14. Thanks Harm!!!!!!
  15. Hey Goldfinger, I have had my Pro Flight pedals for almost three years now and pretty much what Atomic and Topdog said is how they are. My two cents on the moving of the assembly is it only real draw back but if you can find a way to secure them or brace them against something, but IMO is not a big deal. I just position my feet closer to my body that way I have downforce on them, because I am on a hardwood floor. I have had my pedals come off the their track twice since I had them. It wasn't during flight though. I usually rest my feet on them when I am doing my normal computing when I havent moved them off to the side. It was my fault that they came off track, cause I may have been a little excessive in the resting of my feet. But it is a easy fix, just pull the 10 or 15 screws off the bottom cover and put the trains back on the track essentially. what happens is they just get twisted off the rails at the stopping points. Reinstall the cover and screws and your all set. Like I said it was excessive/quick movement that made them jam. Hope this helps, Scout
  16. Go to these three links and start downloading. The first link is for the Beta 1 and the second link is for the Beta 2 patch and the third is for the Beta 3 patch . They are big downloads so it might take you a while. You are going to need to download all 4 files and the second page (Beta 2) and both files in the third link (Beta 3). Install Beta 2 before you install Beta 3. http://www.atomicgamer.com/files/88492/dcs-a-10c-warthog-beta http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&product_sid=DCS_A-10C_Beta_2_Patch_EN&end_pos=2364&lang=en http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&product_sid=DCS_A-10C_Beta_3_Patch_EN&end_pos=2364&lang=en *EDIT I didnt know about the problems with Beta 2 full with 3 on top, but I added the link that was posted in nomdeplume's reply to the list.
  17. Yeah, just like NFL players play Madden 11 to prepare for the next weeks game:rolleyes:
  18. Yeah I've seen the IMAX movie and coming from someone who was in the Air Force and crewed F-16's on a daily basis, I laugh so hard how cheesy and obviously fake some of the scenes are. Now I understand that to get actual video of some views that are CGI are almost impossible, but for me its the vibe that the film puts off, like they try too hard to make you believe those are actual real video recorded. At least 90 percent of the footage of the maintenance crew marshaling is so unbelievable and scripted. I know they are not actors and all, its just for me at least its just very hard to watch.
  19. I am wanting to upgrade my GPU. Tonight I almost bought 2 GTX 460 FTW's but I stopped cause I am worried about my CPU and a bottlenecking issue. I know my CPU is not a new I series but I am hoping that it will do the job. My question is: Should I SLI two cards together, either the 460's or even 450's or just get one 460 FTW? From what I read in the thread A10 wants CPU power more than GPU power, but I know getting a new video card will do wonders. Just asking advice on how much GPU power to get. Another 4 gigs of RAM and Windows 7 64bit are not far behind this this step of upgrade. My system spec are in my signature below. Also my max resolution is 1680x1050
  20. How do you install the patch? Do you have to run the DCS Beta Version Setup.exe and it will install the new patch?
  21. I was a F-16 Crew Chief for 6 years, I was stationed at Shaw AFB, SC for 3 and I was at Eielson AFB for the last 3. While at Eielson, I worked in the phase dock and the A-10 phase shared the hangar with us. I haven't never crewed them on a daily basis, but I've assisted with many phase inspections (against my will LOL) It was a very cool ACFT but it can very a big pain in the ass sometimes. Especially on de-panel and panel up day.
  22. DUDE! That was an intense video! Thanks for posting.
