  1. Also, I just found out. When you pay for Area 51 membership, it comes off your first purchase. So you are really only paying ahead of time. I didnt know this, now I will be saving to get into Area 51.
  2. Would be interesting if only the UKR planes could use them. Though I think there is enough actives flying in the skies. The only bane to the F15 is almost everyone who flys the F15 spams the 120. I dont understand why they dont go fly Ace Combat.
  3. Nice color MFDs. F15's are supposed to have those..........
  4. I havent really tested the ODAB. But I like to use them, because its a pretty explosion =)
  5. I would still like to see ground map navigation. And should be real hard to implement I would think, considering the code is already in place for the russian planes.
  6. ground altitude......... terrain............. Not the same thing? And I thought its purpose was to provide safer flight closer to the ground?
  7. No, obviously that statement only applies to CD owning people. Come on now.
  8. Not currently. But Taiwan President plans to declare indepedance 2008 when he comes up for re-election. China will go to war with Taiwan if they do, they have always stated that. China will go to war with US if we continue to arm them during such a conflict.
  9. Yeah, it is much more intersting when you dont know if you killed the guy. Before these messages came along, you had to look for a crash site, or see him going down. Now you can just fire, turn around and run, and wait for the message.
  10. Is it 'old LPI' when it comes to the time-frame that LOMAC is set in? Intead of the RWR giving a constant azimuth and signal strength, would it possibly get a varying signal strength and go on and off? And as far as NCTR and IFF are concerned. Doesnt the F15 currently give dots and bars? Isnt this a simple form of IFF, and play-balanced with the russian bar/double bar? Though I would really just like to see a nav map MFD mode. Though the LPI would be cool.
  11. About LPI, "allowing it to sense targets without being picked up by hostile radar warning receivers". Further reading suggests it is not 'passive' like EOS. But a mode that makes it harder for the enemy RWR to detect reliably. From what I read, the latest upgrade to the NCTR only has 14 aircraft profiles. And thats the latest upgrade. But then again, we are concerned with LOMAC here. Not only does the F15C have an IFF system, but a supplemental NCTR system. Currently, we can identify the type of aircraft when close enough, I would think most likely the NCTR implementation.
  12. From http://www.faqs.org/docs/air/avf15_1.html "The centerpiece of MSIP II was the advanced AN/APG-70 radar, a next-generation descendant of the AN/APG-63, with the same antenna but much-improved capabilities and a range of operating modes. It featured "low probability of intercept" capabilities, allowing it to sense targets without being picked up by hostile radar warning receivers. The cockpit layout was also improved, featuring: A new color display built by Honeywell. An improved countermeasures system, including an updated Loral AN/ALR-56C RWR; an improved Northrop AN/ALQ-135 built-in jammer; a new Magnavox warning system; and Tracor AN/ALE-45 chaff-flare dispensers mounted behind the nosewheel door. Provision for a "Joint Tactical Information Display System (JTIDS)" datalink, to be fitted later. However, JTIDS was cancelled in 1989. A new processing system, with four times more memory (a megabyte instead of 256 kilobytes, literally toylike either way by 21st-century standards) and three times more computing power. Support for the AIM-120 "Advanced Medium Range AAM (AMRAAM)", the modern follow-on to the Sparrow, with improved range and a much improved seeker with "fire and forget" capabilities. The new AN/APG-70 radar supported AMRAAM, particularly with "Non Cooperative Target Recognition (NCTR)", a highly secret pattern-matching scheme that allowed hostile targets to be reliably identified at long distance, an issue that had long hobbled BVR air combat. The AN/APG-70 was capable of not only recognizing different types of aircraft, but even sometimes different variants of a given type The MSIP II configuration was initially evaluated on an F-15C in December 1984 and was rolled into production in June 1985. Older F-15C/Ds were gradually upgraded. " The 2 things that caught my attention were: "with the same antenna but much-improved capabilities and a range of operating modes. It featured "low probability of intercept" capabilities, allowing it to sense targets without being picked up by hostile radar warning receivers." This suggests a passive mode of operation. And; "The new AN/APG-70 radar supported AMRAAM, particularly with "Non Cooperative Target Recognition (NCTR)",..." Which complements the IFF transponder. Also, everything I have read says that the F15, all versions, have ground mapping navigation. As we see in the Soviet planes. Would it be that hard to have the MFD switch to a nav mode? It would help a lot.
  13. Ahh, thats where I got confused.
  14. I am at work, so I cant verify. But I could have sworn that during the training tracks for the F15, that when you select the target, the box around the target would show a star below it when it was an enemy. I have seen the star, but I have never checked to see if thats how it works. Obviously not, since we are asking for IFF to be implemented.
  15. Would definately add some tactics to wingmen. Now you see the sky filled with jamming. Now it will be even more of a problem, since you will be able to mask. The problem I see happening, is a wingman jamming, and the other taking the shot. As it is now, you need to turn ECM off to fire, to get a good track. Now that wont be a problem with a wingman. That and you cant be targetted.
  16. I am not hoping it was taken out. I am just wondering if other planes jammers with effect your missle tracking. Currently your jammer if on when you fire, will effect your missle.
  17. Currently, if you are jamming and fire a missle, it effects the tracking of that missle, sometimes badly. With this new implementation of jamming, will it also effect the tracking of missles fired close to a jamming plane?
  18. Yes they can. The problem is, that the FOV is large right now for the ARH missles. It should be much smaller.
  19. I have tried to loft bombs a few times. But I cant get it to work. Can someone make a good track for all the bomb carrying planes? I would really like to do it in the jets.
  20. Yeah it would be nice, if the required equipment had to be at the airport. Say a fuel truck for fuel, and some ammo depot or something for ammo. Would be interesting, could refuel at some airports, and not others. Re-arm at some, and not others. I am happy with what they are shooting for with 1.11 though. Will be a very good patch I think. Now, for the advanced missles model.......... drool......
  21. Precogs profile also had a picture of assigned keys with it. So you could just transfer what is set for the X45 to the X52.
  22. I use the Precog profile. Love it.
  23. If you decrease the azimuth scan, then switch to TWS, then lock a target, it changes back to wide azimuth scan. If the target breaks lock, same thing. And then once it changes, the screen has to refresh. Which means you have lost sight of bandit. Lose sight, lose the fight. I would think that it should stay in the azimuth mode you put it in.
  24. Will this data be what is exported into the LUA for the ATC programs?
