  1. Agreed, both would be excellent given that if it's a trigger we can just put it in the radio menu. In bad weather, the lights really need to be on.
  2. Can we get the CV Lights toggleable in the ME ? or as a Trigger ? Doing bad weather ops the lights should be on for low visibility. Currently, it only works at night and only if someone is on approach. If we could get it as a toggle option "darkened ship", "Standard", "All Lighting" or whatever.
  3. Hello everyone, It is my pleasure to announce that slots have become available in our training squadron and we have recommenced recruitment as of today. VCVW-11 is committed to excellence in training and pilot progression. No previous experience is required, we will train you our way. The VT-22 "Golden Eagles" will be your first step into the world of naval aviation. Lead by our instructor pilot with over 25,000 hours of real world stick time you are in very capable hands. After your D-Cat qualifications are completed, you'll be invited to join one of the 3 F-18C squadrons we currently have slot's open for. The video above was made to show off our liveries, made by the DCAG and myself. Each pilot has their own plane, with their name on their aircraft, modex, custom nose art if they so choose, and a place inside a very well established squadron. A slot within one of our squadrons is a very exclusive one and we don't add modexes for the sake of having new pilots. Each squadron has 13 members and 13 members only. If you like being part of an exclusive group of guys and gals then please feel free to apply on our website below. Check out our SOP's and enjoy the ride your about to take! 4. Strangely, or un-strangely enough, they did not mention anything about not needing to purchase modules for a dedicated server to run in the newsletter. To be honest, I love DCS, but running a dedicated server has been a nightmare. Considering I had to purchase 100 bucks worth of maps, that in all likelihood will be now useless to anybody.. I cant transfer those maps to anyone or get a refund if a new system becomes available. The argument could be made that "you had your fun out of them, you cant ask for a refund now." Well, since each server admin had to buy them twice.. That argument is invalid. My enjoyment came out of owning it personally not buying it a second time.. I think it would be good if we could either submit user accounts (server accounts) to be deactivated and at minimum store credit given to the ones who purchased the maps.
  5. I posted over in the PG map bugs, it only seems to happen there. I get horizontal lines (green) tracking with my head over water. It captures in the screenshots too and I have stolen the wife's rift (we both have one) and it does the same thing on hers. To my knowledge, I have not seen these on any other map thus far. Only happens over the water, don't seem to have it over land. The screenshots show it as pretty weak but in the rift, they are very prominent Specs (in case it matters) I7-8700K Asus Strix GTX-1080TI 11GB OC edition 500GB M.2 SSD Win 10 Pro
  6. I had this issue I tracked it to the latest Nvidia drivers not working right, completely uninstalled them and then reinstalled the latest ones fresh and it worked also reverting did work as well.
  7. I have a really weird bug in VR. When I look left or right I see many horizontal lines tracking with my head over the water in the PG map. It does not do this in any other map or any other location in the PG, only over the water. They're hard to see in the screenshot but they are green lines. first just a few then as you proceed up towards the horizon there are many. My specs are as follows. Asus Maximus X Code: Motherboard I7-8700K Asus Strix 1080TI 11gb OC Edition 500GB M.2 - DCS Oculus Rift Touch
  8. Hey Guys, I have found, in over a week's worth of tinkering, that I am able to get really good FPS now with the settings I have come up with. Turning off ASW with the Oculus Tray Tool is an absolute must. While other VR games need that. DCS apparently hates it. ASW adds frames where it isn't needed causing that nasty ghosting or judder or whatever you want to call it. What I also found is absolutely disabling ALL anti-aliasing in the sim and forcing it through the Nvidia Control Panel works best for me. I get a great mix of quality/fps. Currently, I get 60 on the ground (30 per eye) and 90 in the air (45 per eye). This is with every DCS setting turned to maximum including the sliders. and a PD of 2.0
  9. Necropost time. While V was working for me it seems that something I've done or DCS update broke it, crashes DCS every time I inject it into the sim... I was getting used to being able to look at Discord again :(
  10. Amazing, Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me in detail !
  11. Thank you for the advice guys I'll definitely start messing with it some more. For me, I was one of the biggest naysayers on VR in my Air Wing but decided to disavow it properly by trying it with my new system build. Fully prepared to take it back, I was blown away by it even with a slight quality degradation it was still amazing. I think I may have stumbled on the proper setting to get rid of that ghosting so thank you very much! I actually turned ASW off with a 3rd party tool to fix the ghosting issue and it seems to have worked. I could never determine whether it was on/off but now that you told me about the debug tool I'll be using that more Thanks, guys!
  12. SO I decided to take the plunge and get myself a rift with my new system build. Specs are as follows for easy troubleshooting (hopefully) Asus Maximus X Code Motherboard I7-8700K Processor GSkill Trident 32gb ram Asus ROG Strix 1080TI OC 11Gb card Samsung m.2 drive boot/DCS only So, here are the questions. 1. When I look at my wings and do any type of fast rolls it looks as though some parts of it, especially the wingtips, are leaving a trail... Remember the mouse trails back in the day that we all thought was cool? Well, it's not so cool in VR. If this is supposed to be that way OK but I don't see why it would be. 2. I understand the FPS limiter of the oculus (asw?) locks it to 45 FPS even on beefy systems.. Ok, no problem it looks smooth to me at 45.. But when I turn it off I don't get the problem mentioned in question #1. But my framerates go straight to hell and it's unplayable. 3. While I don't specifically need glasses for VR I do wear them as I am nearsighted with astigmatism, and it does help a bit. anyone have any suggestion for that? Cuz its a pain to wear them in the VR and if there is some magic solution that I can throw money at I may do that lol. With my particular system, what is the recommended solution for these problems, if any?
  13. Is your anti-skid turned on ? If so it will hold you in place not letting you come back.
  14. So I tested the "Auto" parking feature on the carrier in single player, works great a new spot is generated when the old one vacates.. In multiplayer however, one person spawns.. another spawns in the same spot.. explosions ensue. Can we get the SP method implemented in MP please ?
  15. So, just tried to go back and look at a landing I just did from a Track. It was actually a fairly decent landing (ish). When I go back to watch the track it shows me flying into the island and exploding or to the right or left of the ship and hitting the water. Ignore my poor flying, Still getting used to this monster. Landing.trk
  16. Hey Wags, One other thing I know your busy and the Hornet is MOST excellent. Will there be provision to spawn people in parking spots after that parking spot and/or catapult has been vacated ? Please say yes.
  17. Thank you Wags, appreciate the response :pilotfly:
  18. How is that planned for future updates considering the youtubers had it already in a previous build. And where specifically showing it off saying "lookie here what you can do !"
  19. Can only place 4 planes on the deck ? What happened to the full deck of hornets that we kept seeing ?
  20. Do we know how many parking spots are on the deck ? I know we'll find out in a few days I'm just making plans. Thank you.
  21. Cant do it in multiplayer, have had multiple people try. Both the triggers and the individual planes. If you set the jet to Player, works fine, Set it to Client, options disappear. I don't mean set random failures. I'm talking about specific failures. I.E. I want an engine to quit at such and such a time on x-aircraft in multiplayer.
  22. Server crashes every few hours on Persian Gulf. We only use mods that add objects nothing else. Have tried this with no mods installed with the same issue. Log.zip
  23. Is it possible to add system failures on our aircraft in Multiplayer ? I can do it in Single Player but the option is not there even via trigger in Multiplayer. If not why not ?
  24. Sure thing, sorry I didn't see that the post was replied to. Here you go. Thank you !
  25. Make the oil tankers/merchant traffic controllable in the ME not just as CIV Traffic with static ships. One, putting a Strike Group in the map is hit or miss (literally) as to whether or not they will run into one of these things. Currently there is no way to see or predict where exactly these things are in the map (that I can tell). Two, opens up mission opportunities with ME controllable merchant traffic in the gulf. Thank you for your time.
