  1. Damn, you're right. I didn't realize it was tucked underneath like that. You can change your max zoom; maybe that will help you see it better? And as far as the "pwned" comments are concerned, I think that's pretty immature for a flight sim discussion forum...

  3. Yes. I can't remember the keypress, but you can find it in keycommands.doc in your \docs folder.
  4. You should be able to see the light by zooming out and/or panning your view. BTW, it's speed brake, not break. You can change the defauly viewing angle in one of the lua files.
  5. Yeah, definitely create one yourself to get exactly what you want. It's simply a matter of changing speeds per band. As far as lua tweaks, I recommend playing around with the viewing angle limits. head movement limits: default head elevation angle: Index 13 in snapviews.lua max and min zoom angles: Can't remember where this one is.
  6. Awesome site. "Recommended resolution: 2048 x 1024" Huh? Did you mean 1280x1024?
  7. I think that the point of a lot of these posts is that ED doesn't need to work on this aspect, because it is already excellent. I suggest you use your TracKIR when flying formations and use the enable/disable or pause/unpause commands when you want to lower your head to read things on your desk. There is nothing that will activate the TrackIR when held down (althoug you can program that with a good HOTAS), but these commands toggle the TrackIR activity an and off. If this condor sim uses a mouse view only, you will find that Lock On's enhanced mode is far better.
  8. It should barely matter. Your hard drive only matters when loading a mission, not while actually flying. A 64k stripe is typical, and I wouldn't change it. Why is this in the Bug forum?
  9. Do you have a TrackIR? I consider Lock On to have the best viewing system ever in a comabt flight sim. You have all of the following. - Enhanced TrackIR support - View zoom mapable to analog axis - programmable snap views - excellent canopy reflections - multiple speeds for keyboard or hat panning - customizable view rotation limits per aircraft - customizable zoom angle limits per aircraft
  10. Correct. You trim opposite the direction of the unwanted movement. In the real aircraft, trimming just moves the motors controlling the flight stick so that it is offset in a certain direction; you can see this in the posted pictures. Basically, trim allows you to deflect the control surfaces the proper amount without constantly exerting force on the stick. Trim can be confusing to think about when flying sims, because if you trim a real aircraft, the control stick remains displaced, you just no longer need to exert force. When you use a computer joystick, though, it remains centered regardless of your trim settings. That is why it is important to pay attention to the neutral trim lights in the aircraft cockpits, and to note the displacement of the in-game control stick. Also note that in the Su-25 and -25T, pressing CTRL+t (reset trim) has no effect. The most effective way of regaining control in those aircraft is to activate the EMERGENCY LEVELING autopilot. Once you have stabilized, you can then DEACTIVATE the autopilot (without moving your joystick) and you will be trimmed for level flight at that speed. If you are trimmed for a certain speed, increasing speed will cause your nose to pitch up, and decreasing will cause your nose to pitch down.
  11. If his cursor is moving in the menu, then he is in relative (mouse) mode. TrackIR should be used in absolute (enhanced) mode for Lock On. The default toggle is F8.
  12. Probably in the sub-forum called "Bugs" :) http://forum.lockon.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=39
  13. I'm just guessing, but it theoretically makes sense. You're right about the left/right difficulty when the missile body spins.
  14. Yuck. So cranking the AF to an obscene level does nothing?
  15. I assume the laser fires in a burst pattern that is different at the edges than it is in the middle. That way the missile can receive a signal "target is right of current heading" or "target is left of current heading".
  16. I seriously doubt ED will patch FC so that it magically has a large performance boost on dual cores. It is a major recoding taks to direct things to multiple threads. Nothing wrong with that; I think you'll be quite pleased.

  18. There's nothing wrong with incrimentally upgrading, but you can build an entire new system for $1000 instead of trying to squeeze what you can out of an older motherboard that supports rare and expensive memory. My 6800GT is on its way. I'm coming from a 9800 Pro, but I still think I'll see a huge change.
  19. I can't take the Ubi forums, never could, and probably never will be able to. It is the combination of sheer information overload combined with huge sigs, poor formatting, and immature posting. I'm a SimHQ guy myself, but there is some good stuff to be found here.
  20. Changing the a Cougar axis's curve setting should not limit your dogfighting abilities or your maximum pitch rate. Editing the curve only shifts what inputs occur at what displacement, but 100% displacement is still 100% input.
  21. The beggining of this thread had an announcement that "Is planned the full translation of all existing in the game aircraft into the new physical model". That says all existing aircraft will get the AFM. Since then, I've seen on SimHQ that the Su-27 will not be getting the AFM. What is the status on the rest of the existing non-AFM aircraft?
  22. You mean LOMAN? I see no reason to manually install skins. Get LOMAN and save yourself a lot of hassle.
