  2. Sorry, no can do until the NDA is lifted... You guys have been very helpful so far, though. I think, since I am almost there, that I will continue this dicussion with the technical people at Matrox and see what they have to say.
  3. Ok, I tried those config settings. These give me the proper aspect ratio when in flight, but I am still having big problems with my view zoom. Despite the fact that my view.lua file says CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_39] = {2.0, 120.0}, I can only zoom out so that the HUD combining glass fills my center monitor; I should be able to zoom out much further than that. If I increase the max angle to rididculou numbers (180 or above), the max zoom out does not change and it just makes Lock On unstable.
  4. ggg87, Read you loud and clear on all points. I'd love to start a dialogue regarding all of these right now, but I'm sure you understand I'm under NDA and can't do that. Rest assured though that you have put some very good ideas in my head and I will be experimenting with them and reporting on them in my review. If you or anyone else wants to keep throwing them at me, please do so. After the NDA is lifted and the review published, I will be back to talk your head off. I have a 6800GT. I will try your config suggestions and report back.
  5. I am seeing some serious squishing of the image in the vertical. Despite the fact that the resolution is set to 3072x768 (and confirmed 1024x768 on all three monitor OSDs), it appears as if the image is being stretched in the horizontal so that everything is squished in the vertical. I'd show you pictures... but I can't.
  6. A review of the Matrox TripleHead2Go, using Lock On, will be available at SimHQ in the coming weeks. However, I am having serious problems getting this thing to work right with Lock On 1.12a, specifically with aspect ratios and view zoom angles. If anyone has triple monitor experience with Lock On, I would appreciate it if they can get in touch with me so that I can make this review as good as possible. I don't read this forum much but I will be keeping an eye on this thread. Thanks.
  7. Both the 6800GT and X800XL have 16 pipes (the X800 Pro only has 12 pipes). The 6800GT will probably overclock better than the X800XL, but it really is a wash between the two; they are very close. I too would hesitate to upgrade from a 6800.
  8. A 9800 is not in the low-end. It is still a capable mid-range card.
  9. Modern motherboards don't use the -5V line and it is often reported incorrectly by hardware monitors. Ignore it. While the heatsink is quite the monster, the fan is just a typical 60mm computer fan, and probably draws less power than any other fan in the system. I too am concerned about the 12V line. 11.5 is way too low.
  10. I have a Leadtek 6800GT on the way. I will tell you how it behaves in Flaming Cliffs when it arrives.
  11. The 9800 eats the 6200 for breakfast.
  12. You guys sound like you'd enjoy the SimHQ pit builders forum.
  13. Nope, Leadtek 6800s emit a horrendous screeching sound when booted without power.
  14. That first pic looks like massive driver corruption, but the second looks like artificating due to damaged/malfunctioning hardware.
  15. All good suggestions. Personally, I am absolutely horrible at finding the targets, and I use labels (the only sim in which I have ever done so). I have them set to a simple "^" character, but I sure wish I could find targets without them. I've also found that it's often easier to see "dots" on the TV monitor, even when it's not magnified) than it is on the terrain itself, although even this requires a vague knowledge of the target area.
  16. As far as I know, if you are running a 3D app on both screens, SLI is disabled. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=22820
  17. I agree. I started to work something out for that controller and then realized it would be totally different depending on your aircraft choice. Besides, you'd have to put the controller down to use the keyboard. Bad idea.
  18. And holy s**t do they look nice...
  19. Take a screenshot showing your ordnance in the A-10 quick mission. I'll duplicate it and we can compare.
  20. Yeah, that's what he's saying.
  21. Yes, you can. You have two ways of doing this. The first is to use your joystick programming software to assign certain joystick buttons to send certain keypresses. The second is to start Lock On, press the OPT (options) button, cycle the selector knob to CONTROL, and pick the keys you want. Press CHANGE, hit the new key, and press OK.
  22. Some kind of cheat? Barrel rolling around missiles has been a standard real world tactic for decades, and is listed as an evasion tactic in many flight sim manuals. I need to go try this in the Su-25T. I have a feeling that overweight thing will get about a quarter of the way around before the AOA light goes off, the airframe starts to shake, and it flips a wing down as it stalls. :)
  23. Alright, here's a starting point (TrackIR2, unit ~20 inches from tracking dots): X and Y axes identical Edit Point - Speed 0 - 0 2 - 0 5 - 2 10 - 5 20 - 8 30 - 10 40 - 13 50 - 17 And, to fill in previously missing info, max and min zoom angles can be adjusted in view.lua
  24. OK, here's the good stuff. Rubycat: Traditional snap views are CTRL plus numpad keys. These can be programmed to your joystick Hat. I use them, and prefer to toggle on "discrete steps mode". This is done by pressing ALT+z at the beggining of a mission, and lets you step through the views any way you want, but will not automatically return to center. It is simple enough to do by stepping back the the other way or recentering, though. In most sims, I have a joystick button that returns me to "cockpit view" (aka F1). In Lock On, though, if your view is off somewhere or you are padlocked, pressing F1 does nothing. So, in Lock On, I have that same joystick button programmed to press F1, break the padlock (I have this programmed to x), and recenter the view (numpad 5), all at the same time. ouija: Padlock is engaged by pressing numpad DELETE by default.
  25. Yaah, I use AUTO LEVEL to fix trim problems in the AFM aircraft as well.
