Some good strategic games:
Civilization 4
Empire at War (not very deep but if you're into Star Wars, must have)
Earth 2160
If you want to train for Black Shark get Janes Longbow2 or Enemy Engaged Comanche vs Hokum on eBay. EECH is in heavy development by modders.

The Saitek pedals are too expensive IMHO (99 Euros), you get the CH pedals for about 150 Euros (@ simw.com) and thats a quality difference for sure. I bought a cheap Saitek racing wheel with pedals for about 40 euros, looks good in combination with the cougar :D
Well I'am left handed, sorry, but: get used to it!
Get a decent hotas setup from ch, thrustmaster or saitek and learn to fly with them, its not that difficult, trust me :)
capttrob: you have to wait till the 120 activates its own seeker, which takes a couple of seconds depending on range, that means you cant fire and turn 180 and run immediately. just FYI.
IIRC the 120 has problems tracking a target that flies lower than you, I think this is called ground clutter. Also, the way radar works has a weakness if the target puts you on his 9 or 3 o'clock, called "beaming". Combine these two factors with some chaff and you'll loose lock. In LockOn its better to look-up and shoot-up.
The more experienced players will have better explanations :)
Great, instead of putting a CD in your drive you attach a usb stick, do I miss the logic in here? If you make a hardware change you have to purchase another 40$ dongle? Useless discussion imho since Alfa already stated BS will include StarForce no matter how much we rant. I don't like SF either but so far my puter didn't explode ;)
FC only checks for the disc once a week. So why should the devs waste their precious time for a no-cd "patch"? It doesnt change the fact how StarForce works -> the StarForce drivers have to be running in the background, no matter if there is a CD in the drive or not.
Edit: This applies to the CD version, don't know how the web version actually works. Buy the web version and you don't have to put a cd in your drive at all, SF is still running in the background.
I'm left handed too, but about 10 years ago I decided to use the right one cause I wanted to use a throttle along with the suncom talcon. It was tedious but now I can fly with both hands :D
