Help with T16000 and TWCS setup
simo-dj replied to Dustbag1969's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Hi @Dustbag1969 I have both T16000 and twcs and i've just bought winwing hotas because some hardware issues discussed elsewhere. before this issue, As CP/G, analog stick on throttle was mapped for this purpose while pressing it (it should be btn 6) made appear/switch cursor between left and right mfd. Now that the issue is just on this silly stick, i mapped X and Y axis of T16000 for this purpose. Of course you can't pilot apache from CP/G seat but at least you can aim and fire. Hope this was helpful -
need track replay Some discoveries after today's patch.
simo-dj replied to Amarok_73's topic in Bugs and Problems
I had too to remap buttons for symbology mode. Don't know what happened but after last patch throttle buttons for this function were blank in adjust control windows. Plus, i have the same hover issues as reported by other memebers here -
Thanks again @Rudel_chw very very useful.

Thanks a lot @Rudel_chw. That was helpful! By reading the linked article i discovered also how to open .miz files and add folder in them. Thanks!!!

Hello everybody, forgive me for this silly question. Let's say I created my first, decent-to-play-and-i-hope-worth-to-share-it mission. I found on dcs homepage kneeboard files for each aircraft with checklist and so on. I guess those are "permanent" files, so each time i use that aircraft or helo, i found this page when i bring up kneeboard. I created a .pdf brefing and i'd like to put some of its pages in the kneeboard, but i want these pages appear on the kneeboard only for this mission, not for each time i fly this given aircraft. Is it possible to do so? If so, how to do it and where place this file? Thanks a lot!!!

Thanks @cthulhu68and @admiki. I'll give a try asap. What's sounding strange to me it's that i never had to press c. George just took control and flew. Thanks a lot!
-
Thanks cthulhu. Is this from a recent upgrade? I haven’t played for a while as cpg but i never had to request ac control.

Hi everybody, I am experiencing this issue with George as pilot (as you can see in track). I wasn't aware of this because, tbh, it's a long time i don't sit in cp/g seat due to throttle/joystick issue. As you can see, i take off as pilot, switch seat to cp/g and make george interface show up. First of all, even if i'm in air altitude ordered is 0 and IAS is set to 90kts (weird enough. Usually speed and altitude were displayed quite near current aircraft speed and altitude) I order George to fly to a direction at a certain altitude but he does whatever he likes without even listening to me. This is just a track, but it happened almost every time i tryed this. Once or twice I took off as pilot, took speed and headed to desired direction, then switched to cp/g seat. George started to fly circle, no hope to change his way. Have i missed something since last updates? Or maybe should i leave apache and let george fly alone to the sunset? Thanks a lot in advance and happy landings georgeaspilotdumb.trk

Oops i did it again [cit.] I bought a brand new TWCS, unboxed, and after (literally) 3 minutes of use the same problem showed up! Before connecting i used virpil test to check and everything was fine. Could it be that when i use the analog stick as button it "damages" connections? It's not a continous and repeatedly pression. I mapped this button for cursor switching betweend MFD's so i use it very very rarely. New one was already sent back and asked for refund, now i'll try to disassembly it and use canned air and connection spray as suggested. But i'm thinking that maybe is a communication problem between throttle and pc. Could it be? Thanks a lot p.s. forgive me @bingbean i completely missed your kind answer. That's a good suggestion and i'll keep it mind. Actually I'd prefer to buy an expensive throttle (and, hopefully durable) rather than continously buy a cheaper one that has problem just after unboxed.

Thanks a lot @Sacarino111 exactly what do you mean with toe brake?
-
Thanks a lot @Sacarino111 but a stick and two throttles is a solution i am not interested in. Maybe @Beirutwill be grateful and intesrested in this. As said i’ve already bought a new one but, sincerely, if this won ‘t last longer i’ll evaluate one of more quality and durable like x56 seems to be. i hope budget will allow me to buy rudder pedals as well (twisting stick while piloting apache it’s a thing i’ll never get used to.
-
Thanks a lot @bingbean apart all these useful advices that’s i wanted to know.
-
Wow! Thanks @okopanja i’ll take both spray and canned air and try! thanks a lot!
-
I have already bought a new one but it’s very annoying because the old one was 6/7 months old. I don’t want to throw a throttle away every half year. That’s why i considered X56. But what stops me it’s that i don’t know if this throttle has rudder levers as twcs or i have to buy rudder pedals as well. i never thought about 2 throttles and the stick. I think it’s quite useless, isn’it?
-
I’m talking about the mini stick in the front of the throttle, just above the rudder levers. It’s completely out of axis. I run calibration software but it constantly bends toward left. i don’t think it’ll be fixed with Canned air but i’ll give a try! Thanks

Hi everybody. i have, as per title, T16000 and its Twcs controller (no rudder pedals) . I’m quite used to these controllers but twcs has started to give problems. First i had problems on erratic collective controls (partially resolved with unscrewing friction and by upgrading firmware. Now the analogic stick seems to be broken. question is: i’m evaluating a new throttle, logitech X56 in specific. Has this throttle rudder levers like twcs has or i have to buy pedals as well? i feel fine with t16000 stick. Is it possible to use this stick with logitech x56 hotas? (…i know x56 throttle and stick aren’t sold separately) do you have a better stick and throttle to suggest with the same price? Thanks a lot!

Thanks again @kgillers3 I'll take a look and decide if i'll do this.
-
Thanks @kgillers3. i'll take a look as soon as you find the video for future reference. For now, with new drivers and firmware, re-calibration, and friction screw untightened things are going well, both in smoothness and controls. But, as said, i'll keep tight all of your advices. They've been very helpful and useful!
-
That's it! I'll try to do as you suggested, but i think that's the right answer. Thanks a lot!
-
Thanks again! I was afraid WD40 would damage any piece inside the throttle. ...my diy expertise is low level. I took a look ath the upgrade. Exactly what it does? I saw a review saying that for dcs a 70% detent is perfect. Is this true or you advice another detent percenathe? Thanks @MAXsenna

Hi everybody. Is there a way to order to AI platforms to attack JUST a target instead to engage whatever enemy things they see? I see planes ordered to attack a single cargo vessel (mission type: anti ship strike, advanced waypoint actions->attack group->name of the group... and a small blue triangle is placed on the ship to be engage) engage another cargo placed miles away that is a target of another flight. Please note that in advanced waypoint actions i select to expend ALL the ammo's on this target. I saw this behaviour also on ground mission where an apache flight was attaccking my targets rather than their. Thanks a lot in advance and please excuse if this subject was already discussed. I wasn't able to find anything about it.

First of all i want to thank all the kind people that wasted their time in reading and answering my help request. Yes @MAXsennaWhen Apache module came out inverting collective axis was the first thing i did. I real love this feeling. About my issue i grouped all the suggestions and i think i came through it! I upgraded firmware and drivers, did joystick calibration and untightened friction screw (i already did it quite ago, but i wanted a more smooth movement) and the issue seem resolved. No more collective sudden "jumps" upwards when i pull collective lever. One last question: Is a good idea to lubricate the TWCS tracks? And if so, WD40 is good at it or you have something else that do this job better? Thanks again!
-
WOW! Thanks @MAXsenna I hadn't any clue about Virpil test feature!! TBH i don't know if it's a conflict or hardware failure. Throttle slider on T16000 is mapped as Zoom view for every plane and until now no issue was found. I always zoomed in and out with no problem at all. Zoom is a feature i use, in apache, only as CP/G, while i use it as a pilot very rarely. Plus these days i learning to pilot and give orders to AI George, so this slider is no used at all. I'll take a test, try also calibrate it and then i'll give an update about this problem. Really no curves or saturation? I'll try it! Thanks a lot!

Beside Ah64 i have also AC10-CII and Viper. To tell the truth right now I'm focused on Apache and I haven't touch the planes for a while, so I can't say if this silly behaviour is on Warthog and Viper as well. As soon as i get home from work i'll give a try but i'm afraid it's an hardware issue. Plugged on my pc i have only T16000, TWCS and mouse. No other controllers.
