Agree, it works fine. It does require a powerfull Gpu as any streaming/standalone solution though. Also worth mentioning is the active cooling which is very nice.

I got MT to work fine with Oculus. Take a look here:
-
FYI: Changing ActiveRuntime in Registry to None re-enabled OculusVR for Pico 4 in MT. (Set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenXR\1\ActiveRuntime to None) Finally got rid of SteamVR and the problems with being possisoned at the wrong hight. No flickering/blinking at startup. Also when ending DCS I'm back in Windows and not SteamVR. Obviously it's not OpenXR, but for me Oculus works better that SteamVR/OpenXR.
-
I have also had a couple of crashes/freeze in VR MT when going to the F10. Never had problems here earlier.
-
You don’t need to install anything. Just start DCS using the “Launch game…” feature in Virtual Desktop.
-
Have you tried to adjsut Gamma under Options/System? I can't say I have noticed any difference with MT here, but it varies a bit from module to module. Luckily it's easy to change midflight.
-
That is exactly how I launch DCS and it does not work. Either manually right-click VD and "Launch game..." or using shortcuts like I described. The result is exactly the same. One important point might be that I´m using Pico4 which somehow emulates Oculus. No problem in ST or any earlier DCS versions. I think a parameter to force Oculus would be good here.

Unfortunately it does not work for me. This is confirmed by the logfiles (included) and the Virtual desktop overly showing Oculus RT for ST and OpenVR for MT. ST: 2023-03-12 10:39:25.751 INFO VISUALIZER (17900): LAUNCH IN VR OculusRift: OculusRift : Oculus Rift S MT: 2023-03-12 10:41:34.732 INFO VISUALIZER (4304): LAUNCH IN VR OpenXR: SteamVR/OpenXR : oculus And in OpenVR I am placed at wing-height in the VR hangar and everything flickers a lot during loading. This is how I start DCS: "C:\Program Files\Virtual Desktop Streamer\VirtualDesktop.Streamer.exe" "C:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe" Grateful for any help here. dcsST.log dcsMT.log

F-18 Hornet issue, does anybody else have observe this: Start DCS fresh, open a F-18 mission. The VR hand controllers tries to grab the joystick even if this is ticked off in the VR options. (Extremely annoying as it’s easy to push the grab button when it’s in your lap) Going into options, check and then un-check the option solves the problem. Looks like a minor bug.

@BIGNEWY Have you removed/changed the support for Oculus VR runtime in MT? In ST I get this runtime as previously, but in MT I now get the OpenVR runtime which does not work as good for me as the Oculus. Please add a —forceOculusVR param. BTW: MT is really great and complex campaigns that were unplayable in VR runs smooth now.
-
I get this message too. With a Rtx 4090 and 60 fps I guess it’s just natural that it’s the CPU that is the bottleneck. But that’s were MT really helps.
-
OpenXR/SteamVR with MT works for me too (with or without force_OpenXR param). It's just that the Oculus runtime works so much better! It's still supported in ST, why did they need to remove it from MT?
-
The performance gains on complex missions are great in MT.Complex campaigns that stuttered are now butter smooth. In simple missions it's more or less as ST for me (which was 60-90 fps anyways) My problem is that it seems like something has changed wrgt the support for OculusVR runtime; I'm not able to run DCS/Pico4 with the Oculus runtime in the new MT-patch. In ST it works as before. In ST you get into Oculus runtime by starting the Virtual desktop streamer with dcs.exe as a param and you have DCS in Oculus runtime. Now the same forces you into OpenVR/SteamVR. The screen flicker like mad, I'm positioned several meters to high in the VR world and need to recenter, the performance is slightly lower, visual quality is not as good as before and when I exit DCS I'm left in this anoying Steam world which I then need to exit to get back to Windows. Everything worked so much nicer and with less hassel with OculusVR. What has changed in MT? Could we please get a --force_OculusVR parameter? Very happy for the MT, just that the user experience was a step back in this particular area. PS: also tried with the force_OpenXR with the same results.

Training Missions updates and downloads
Hillman replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Training Missions
I think the included training missions still are out of sync with the current state of the module. Sad as they were clearly one of the best training missions when they worked. Would be great to have them made current as they are valuable kearning tool esp. if you are using VR where swapping between e.g. YouTube and DCS is a bit more hassel. -
I payed around 55 USD incl shipping from honsvr.com

You don’t have to deal with the right-clicking (which is a pain, I agree): Just create a short-cut to the VD streamer and double-click this instead of dcs.exe. I described this in an earlier post I think, but I can describe this better when I’m at my PC. (It’s also described in the VD FAQ or release notes I think) If you also install VoiceAttack you can just say «start sim» and there is no mouse use at all Can’t be much simpler!

If you want to use OpenXR and tools that are based on this then Yes. If you use Oculus you can even uninstall SteamVR if you like. (But no need to do this as both works side by side, just not at the same time.)

Hi, Just finnished the first mission and I found it really good. So much life at the airport, a lot of life and action at the boat and then the exciting car chase up the vally. Feels really authentic and a perfect match of realism and action. Struggeling a bit on mission 2, but sure I will manage. Had a look at you youtube video of mission 2 and got some good hints. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to the upcoming campaign.

Strange… what does the VD overlay say for runtime? «Oculus» or «OpenVR» or something else? Sorry, no. I typical get 60-70 fps in a instant action mission at Caucasus and no lag once it has loaded properly. Complex missions and Marians is a different story
-
I do believe it's because Pico 4 emulates a Oculus headset. I never installed anything from Oculus/Meta (AFAIK), but still Virtual Desktop sees this as a Oculus headset which you clearly see if you enable the overlay info in VD and also you see it in the DCS log. So you don't have to install anything extra, just start DCS by right-clicking the VD in the sytem-tray and select "Launch game...". For me this gives better results than running through OpenXR or OpenVR.
-
Not familiar with either of these, but I have used Open XR Toolkit. However then I need to start Dcs with the parameter —force_OpenXR (plenty of info about this in the thread) In this case the SteamVR runtime starts automatically (which implements the OpenXR api) and then DCS starts. I’m pretty sure if you start Dcs by right-click VD , then you will run the Oculus runtime. Not sure if that uses the OpenXR protocoll. I’m not able to see any difference between this runtime or the Oculus runtime however, so usually I use the Oculus runtime.

@crispy12 >Can I clarify the steps to starting DCS? When clicking my DCS icon (no suffixes), it loads up DCS in the VR aspect ratio but doesn't appear in VD. I start DCS by right-clicking VD streamer and selecting «launch game» (no starting of SteamVR). In this manner you will be using the OculusVR run-time, not the SteamVR runtime. For me this works better. (Actually I have a small batch-file for this and by using VoiceAttack I just say «start sim» as soon as I have connected the Pico with VD to the PC)

>And does anyone have experience with this? Better than a WiFi 6 router? I tried it without any issues. But I can’t say I saw any noticable improvements. I have a Wifi 6 access point near by and the convinience of wireless is so nice.
