    E3 2015

I miss the 90's. All we have is FPS's and a few oddballs in the mix. :(
  7. THz for the newsletter, it was a positive thing to warn us of the delay, we understand, just keep on marching well get there eventually!
  8. Israel is more interested in the range of the thing. They have other options for air defence and its not like their neighbours are even trying to play catch up in that arena. Saudi Arabia? unlikely.
  9. belly land is not the same as out of control. The F-16 can also land on its central external tank as do other fighters, the issue here is when the jet is in danger driving off an edge and tipping over, an event that might easily kill the pilot.
  10. ejection is mandatory procedure when the jet is out of control at the runway.
  11. Everyone going to guns'r us these days. Feels like the old days.
  12. the crowd just watching and you can see all that shrapnel the explosion sent up. Frightening.
  13. Aussies getting a taste of their new plane. 57yyTtDYkJU
  14. Both fighters radars are very up there in the spectrum. Better than range would be target recognition and discrimination, signal stealth, resistance to ECM, and noise. The other functionalities I mentioned above may become the primary concern over sheer range at some point. And there might be times that the designers may be forced to choose between them. Irbis-E wins over the older models of APG-63 (mechanical) IMHO but are surpassed by the AESA variants like the APG-63V3 (they ought change the designation because its misleading) due to the same inherent technological advantages an AESA brings in an the same way the Irbis-E has over the older mechanical arrays. Simple :)
  15. I began at UBI, ED's own came after. That's how far. :)
  16. But don't build a too high expectation before seeing it. Your eyes will feast though. That's assured.
  17. It was still a good movie, my review was much affected by my expectations built upon the original trilogy (to me one of those trilogies high up there on par with Star wars and Indiana jones). The others who didn't see them wont be as critic and likely will be pleased by the eccentricity of this one.
  18. Was a figure of speach :D , as in barely said a line.
  19. Mad max Fury road How to define this movie? Well, most movies have a start that builds up leading to the meaty part in the middle with the action and an ending to wrap it all up. mad max, will, give you the meaty part alright, with plenty sauce (made out of humans) from minute one to the very end. The plot is simplistic, and provides a very basic background (read: excuse) for the immense car chases. The main characters are Imperator Furiosa, and Nux, the first seeking home and the later redemption. Of course that couldn't happen without a villain, so theres one in it it too! ;) Max himself makes flatulent noises about 6 times in the entire movie to make himself noticed (basically) so that the title has his name in it, and that kinda made me a sad panda. Mel Gibson probably shed blood tears. The image below pretty much sums it up: note: the quote on the poster isn't Max's either! How do you spell a flatulent sound? pros -great action -very imaginative depiction of hell on earth -visually gorgeous -minimal GCI (if you discount the sandstorm part) -musical soundtrack (beware: don't expect cheerful melodies full of chirping birds and girls dancing in the wind!) -dat electric guitar! Cons -character development where is it? -Mad max himself barely makes himself noticeable, and struggles to make up for a secondary role. -barely a plot to speak of. -adds nothing to the original trilogy (has to be said: either it would make the movie simply great, or could ruin the saga beyond repair phantom menace style, nothing in between and they choose the lower risk approach) -Was expecting Max's last V8 interceptor to play a role as well. points: 7/10 entertains in a Friday night without being remarkable (should have been) trailer: woHTUsl66BY
  20. I saw similar scenario in MonteReal AB engine shop during the F100-PW-200C into 220E conversion (a program finished years ago). They had engine module kits on site. Sadly I never had the opportunity to work on these (I work on turboprops and airline turbofans instead).
  21. Yes, they wont sell anything new below those standards these days anyway, unless the client specifically wishes boneyard examples due to limited budgets. Theres also block 61, similar to the 60 in capability but with more common parts (block 60 was heavily customized for UAE).
  22. there are several versions that can carry those conformal tanks, block 50 and up. All they require is a compatible structural cell.
