  1. low voltage doesn't cause pauses, it causes bluescreens.
  2. meanwhile in the Nerthelands: w3tstUYGS_8 first time I have seen them been pushed hard.
  3. I have SSD's and they are CPU hogs. When the SSD's were put to work (basically every time I opened something, or when the background tasks required accesses and writes) the SSD's would wait for the CPU to throttle up and I could see these micro-pauses (they coincided with the fans spooling up to match). They weren't problematic but when I finally switched C states off the whole thing became fluid.
  4. C states throttle up and down your CPU automatically depending on what your doing. It's a gimmick to reduce consumption much like the "cheat" on the Volkswagen cars. I found out that it introduced annoying response lag spikes and witched it off
  5. Set a 4.5 GHz overclock manually and disable C states in BIOS. BOOOOOOOOOOM Done.
  6. Anyone here has jumped from a 2600K/2500K to Haswell-E (or recently to broadwel-E) and noticed improvements?
  7. Did all the former 46 F-16's just ran out of airframe hours?
  8. the one from the navy
  9. Canada could wait for a 6th gen given they already signed a stopgap deal with Boeing for Superhornets.
  10. is that an addon for FSX? :D
  11. LOL no foul for the attempt. :D
  12. There are no alternatives really. Some mentioned the superhornet but that will reach the end of the line rather quickly compared to the F-35. Either that or the new 6th gen fighter the navy is lobbying for and that wont come to fruition within the next 20 years.
  13. I put a thread up a couple months back the some think tanks are saying developing a 6th gen (would be more like 5++) aircraft out of the F-22 might be the way to go.
  14. something to chillax :) P8GHW2epZks
  15. F-15 strike eagle II on a friends computer in 1991, then when finally my family got a home PC I got microprose's Dogfight as first flight SIM (though first game ever actually was wing commander 2). then in quick succession: Tornado Strike commander Falcon 3 operation overlord evasive action Jane's USAF F-22 TAW Falcon 4 Finally Lock on modern air combat and its expansions ever since. :D Missed many classics primarily due to lack of funds and time.
  16. Computers never lie! ;)
  17. hehe, "false alarms?" I got stories of APG-66's locking onto cars on highways and windmills. :D
  18. Our experience as virtual pilots will hardly translate realistically to what the real world pilots would do. We do not fear death by slaloming missiles for starters. :D The F-35 explores the options of having longer range and less support needed.
  19. how much do the 4 recessed AMRAAMs count for RCS? ;)
  20. B-21 Kim kardashian See no connection? they both are bombastic but equally useless. ;)
  21. waiting for cannonlake chips before considering a new GFX. It'll be a while (2H2017).
  22. By using TV outside a regular trajectory the range is reduced to 1/3, there's environmental factors to consider (clouds are black body to infra red spectrum) and these are 2 weaknesses that popped up in my head. Who knows?
  23. There was actually little combat at all. This is why I think the analysis of these records might lead you into erroneously believing dogfighting is a thing of the past. Personally I only see one offs engagements and no statistical validity to this argument.
  24. Your very talented thor. My models look made by a 5 year old by comparison.
