Hi folks, Creating a multiplayer training mission with latest DCS Standalone Open Beta. I have an A.I. Helicopter that Takes off at A (SP) has a turn-point at WP1 and lands at final waypoint (DP) which works fine. However… What I’m trying to do is get the AI Heli to land at WP1 (for 60 secs using advanced waypoint action) then take off again and continue to final waypoint (DP). I have it ‘almost’ working, but AI Heli lands at WP1, sits there for the proscribed 60secs at takes off again BUT, it does not continue en-route, it keeps returning and landing at WP1. Tried all the options I can think of, run out of ideas to make this work as described so looking for advice from any willing ‘expert’ Cheers!

My apologies for double reporting. I promise to do better next time!

Hi folks, Firstly, thank you for all your hard work in building and releasing what is a wonderful map. However, I seem to have a problem with it. Quite frequently I’m getting a large part of my screen flashing black when flying on your Sinai map. I have no idea why, or how to fix. I do NOT seem to have such an issue on ANY of the other DCS maps (and I have them all). You can see the problem I’m having in a short video I’ve posted on youtube… A solution, fix, for this would be great. Thanks

Many thanks for all your advice on this. I now have it working fine. Thanks again.

OK, thanks for that. Appreciated I did just edit my post in include another question about rules in windows firewall. I don't suppose you could..... And, just to be clear, I'm not running a DCS Server, I'm just running the latest standalone Open Beta.

Good info here, thanks. But… I’m really not that bright! You say, for example that we would need to port forward Port 10308, both TPC & UDP, yet in your firewall rules it shows TCP 10302/10312 & the same for UDP. Would you, for the sake of idiots like me, explain the significance of this ‘Range’ of ports? Presumably this ‘Range’ of ports would also need to match on both the Router and Windows 10 Firewall? Further, the 'advanced' section of windows 10 firewall has 'inbound', 'outbound' and 'connection security' rules. Which rules do we need to setup? I'm assuming (but don't know, we would need 'inbound rules'? Cheers!

Transfer steerpoints from the F10 map into the aircraft - DCS: The Way

If we have installed your original version (v1) of The Way: What is the procedure to ‘upgrade’ to version V2? Sorry if I’m being dense. -
[NO LONGER PASSES IC] Improved Contact Dot Spotting (Updated v1.1)
TonyRS replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
Excuse my ignorance. But, what happens with this mod when… 1. I update DCS 2. I may need to run a ‘repair DCS’ at any time? -
Enforced Graphics settings for Multiplayer
TonyRS replied to Mr_Blastman's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Force settings? No, already too much of that! That is life I’m afraid. I’m in the same boat; spent a fortune building my PC to play in 2D 4K resolution. Often get blown out of the sky by others who clearly see me well before I can see them. However, I’m now a much better parachutist than they are!!! There is, of course, nothing stopping you ‘turning down’ your settings and doing likewise but playing in 4K is a delight so I will not turn my settings down. Your best ‘defense’ against this (if you have high settings & resolution) is to NOT fly alone. Join a group, fly as 2,3,4 ship flight. After all, 8 eyes are better than 2. Find a server with CGI so you can be vectored to targets, maybe! It is also a fact that some aircraft simply have much better all round visibility, and mirrors, than others. Enjoy what we have. It is, without doubt, brilliant. -
I can only recommend you jump into Multiplayer, online. Playing with groups of other people just adds another dimension to the whole thing. As I’ve been learning, also largely on single player, I found I started to get lazy, just doing the things I’d found out how to do and shying away from ‘new’ stuff. Playing with others with greater knowledge and skill is challenging but it provides a huge opportunity to draw on the wealth of experience others can offer. To give yourself the best start in multiplayer, if you want to get involved with others online, I’d recommend… 1. Make sure you are running the ‘Standalone’ version of DCS 2. Make sure you are running the latest ‘Open Beta’ version of DCS ‘standalone’ 3. Set yourself up with a Discord account 4. Look for people running ‘Training Servers’. On a training server you will most likely find everyone to be very accommodating of ‘new’ players who will often ‘bend over backwards’ to help you. I do not think it is my place to recommend anyones server over anyone elses. However, I have had much fun, and considerable help, on… 1. Wolf Pack’s servers 2. DCS Hooligans servers 3. 62nd Virtual Fighter Squadron 4. 4YA Training Servers… … to name but a few! Just jump in, if it gets too much for you then just hop back into SinglePlayer for a while. Enjoy!

CASE III Marshal stack and other kneeboards
TonyRS replied to ElCuco68's topic in DCS World Tutorials
I believe you will need to tune in your a/c radio(s) to the appropriate channel/frequency to be able to communicate. You are welcome. Yes! Sailboat; I’ve been teaching people to sail for a couple of decades now -

Here, ‘Crash’ also == Sleep

Thank you, very much, for your suggestion. You may well be right; that may be all that was needed. However, before I saw your reply, I did the following… That does seem to have solved my problem. Was working fine when playing online the night before. Since then I’ve had no Windows or DCS updates so, I reckoned the only thing that can have changed would be the contents of my SavedGames folder. So, I decided to backup and then DELETE my SavedGames folder and try firing up DCS again. It worked!!! DCS recreated my SavedGames folder. I then reinstated backed up control settings, missions, server settings, mods, SRS, TacView and stuff to newly created SavedGames folder (ignoring any cache folders), tried DCS again and it now loads and seems to function properly again. So, SORTED!!! Now for a few hours crash!

As of today I'm unable to run DCS. Until today it has been working fine. Unaware of any changes today to windows or DCS. Open Beta Version 2.8.2.35759 on Windows 10 Pro. On opening, I get the splash screen, it logs me in, then goes to a blank screen. I have to exit the DCS process in task manager to get my computer back! Attached is latest log file which, hopefully, means something to someone Any advice guys??? dcs.log

Help please F/A 18 C module take off trim and trim control
TonyRS replied to TonyRS's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Thank you razo+r. I checked my key bindings and discovered a duplicate entry for button 2 on my HOTAS Warthog joystick; which apparently was also assigned to some function in the GUI layer. I. Did not think to check this as I’d not had my PC & DCS running for the last six weeks so, not a change I made. Consequence of upgrading to latest stable version??? All working now Thanks again Regards TonyRS -
Hi folks, PC Specs in footer, currently running latest STABLE version of DCS in single player mode in a self created mission on Syria map (and similarly on South Atlantic map) In my mission I have 4 F/A 18C’s setup. 2 setup hot start on airfield parking spot. 1 setup hot start on my carrier and 1 setup in the air at 6000ft x 350knts. My problem is with 2 F/A 18’s hot started on airfield parking spots. When i jump into these, pitch trim is set at 12 nose up and my HOTAS trim switch seems unable to change this 12 nose up setting. When I take off, get airborne, wheels and flaps up I still seem unable to adjust the trim setting to lower the nose and have to fly with the stick pushed a long way forward just to fly level? I do not have this issue with the F/A 18C that is already setup flying at 6000ft. I’m still pretty new to DCS; due to a recent family bereavement, I have not had my PC on for the last two months, recently started it, opened DCS to play, and updated DCS to latest stable version from previous stable version. Had no such problem when last played prior to bereavement and latest DCS update but no idea if update is relevant to issue? My controls seem to be setup fine, as they were before the problem arose but I’ve no idea what to look at next to solve my problem? Maybe, it is some thing important I’ve forgotten to do? Who knows? Any advice, ideas will be much appreciated. Thank you Regards TS

OK, many thanx.

Probably a dumb question, but just thought I’d check. I seem to be accumulating an ever larger number of ‘track’ files in my saved games folder. Is it OK to simply DELETE all these track files without causing any issues??? Cheers.
-
Discovered my own problem here. I have the option set to synchronise HOTAS controls at mission start AND (I’d forgotten that…) I’d set up a switch on my HOTAS for ‘Autostart’ which I’d left switched ON. So, now works as I’d wish it to

I'd like to hop in to my F18 to just practice carrier approach and landings. I'd like my F18 to be flying at 6000ft 60 miles from carrier in stable flight when I start my mission. Is this possible? How to setup in Mission Editor? Having placed my F18 in mission editor at 6000ft 60miles from carrier, when I hop in, the F18 promptly does an auto shutdown and then restart, by which time, of course, I've crashed???? Rgds

Yeah, I tried to get one of them when I put my PC together but they were unavailable at the time. Hence my external hub

Finally received my TrackIR 5 through post from USA. Works fine, No probs with NVidias latest drivers on Windows 10. Only disappointment is that the device is NOT recognised when plugged in to my externally powered USB hub. Had to plug it into back of PC for device to be recognised. Don't know why this is so, ALL my other devices work fine through the USB Hub. Also, found USB cable too short.
