  1. There is no queue. Right now the George voiceline about "lasing and storing" is just gloss. The gun isn't firing because there is a bug right now that populates the pilots range data with the CPG laser distance. You need to change the range source manually by typing it in or WAS'ing different weapons with the CPG laser off to get the default M1.5 (1.5 km estimated distance to target). You can cue George to as many targets as you like and it shouldn't be a problem. Typically, the reason George doesn't fire after acquiring the target is because the target gets obscured by something in the foreground (or an unstable helicopter) and George is unable to come back onto the target. You need to deselected the target from the George menu then re-cue him back onto the target.
  2. Interesting. What are you doing when you want to see a TADS acquisition source? I'm usually too busy looking at the TSD and TDAC to even be looking outside.
  3. I've noticed that in dynamic missions, they typically call abort if the target gets destroyed before you attack it or a friendly unit gets too close.
  4. One thing I dislike about the JTAC is that it doesn't tell you how many targets you are engaging. If you have a column of 4 tanks, it will not tell you beforehand the number of tanks. The JTAC will shift the laser to the new target when you kill the first target, but you have no idea how many hellfires to launch in LOAL if you can't see them.
  5. Do your controls jitter when you have the Ctrl+Enter graph up?
  6. Does it work? Will it ignore trees if we shoot objects behind them?
  7. Agree. The M789 HEDP rounds have about 20 grams of explosives in a shaped charge. It would do well against about an inch of steel armor with a direct hit but I doubt it would do well against a modern tank at range. The sleeve is designed to throw a lot of shrapnel and it does that well. In DCS a 17 pound Hydra rocket can't damage a BMP but a M789 can take it out. In reality that rocket has about 5lbs of comp B in a shaped charge.

  10. Hey all, I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended. Occasionally I've wanted to use the rockets at maximum range on an area target (around 6 to 7km). I'll get George to lase the target and I'll fly the aircraft into constraints. When the I-bar turns solid (usually around 6km), I fire. The rockets fall very short, as in they only travel about 3km. Shouldn't the computer tell me that I'm out of range? Based on information I found online, Hydra rockets have a range of around 8km. This is at about 500-700 feet AGL. Anyone else seeing this? Also for illumination rockets, is there any reliable way to aim them so they come down over a particular target area instead of fly themselves into the ground when aiming them? Thanks!
