Taking a guess at how this worked. The large screen I assume is a way to classify what king of RADAR you're hunting. Although I dont think there would be three osicciliscope type readouts/ I think each one represents the 'E-BAND, G-BAND, I-BAND. It also kind of acts like an Azimuth readout too. Basically the EWO gives the pilot course instructions. The smalled screen tyo the right is the actual Seeker Head input from the AGM-78. I guess when uncaged it actively sweeps? I think it acts just like the damn F-5E RADAR does. You adjust the seaaker head angle na dbasically steer until the head locks on. This may not sweep like I have it depicted. The "return" may actually appear in the lower half of the screen too (derp). My assumption for the tick marks on the left screen are AZ angle. Probabaly in 5 degree increments. I think the STARM is allowed 20deg based on what Blaze posted. Let me know guys, let's keep this going. ***** EDIT, I think the indicators on the right screen do move but they only move when you move them. There is the large AGM-78 panel on the right and it has both an angle adjustment knob and an AZ adjustment knob. Then again there is a Sweep Rate, Attenuation and tuning knob. Maybe it does sweep and you still move the crossshairs over the RADR return or signal spike and then lock?

OKay some things to think about concerning Electronic Warfare. RADAR Ranging (RR), Lobing (LB), and Aspect Dependency (AD). The first one I really can say if that works unless a Tester or Dev speaks on it. RR is a situation like being on the highway with other cars. Let's imagine a Police Officer running a 'speed trap' points his emmitter at oncoming traffic. He hops on his bike when you all pass at the same speed however he/she pulls over the person next to you. Why, because of 'RR'. The car next to you was obscuring you from the beam. Think of RADAR (Radio Detection And Ranging) like a searchlight in pitch blackness. The other car basically casted a shadow on you. 'LB' Is something like a beam emitting from the dish that wraps in back on itself. You would have multiple 'Lobes'. One transmits in Elevation and the other Azimuth. This basically is how the RADR knows where a target is. Then we have Lobe Switching which nnow comes to mind but it has been over 20yrs since I have touched an AN/APS-1115. I used to know a boat load about this stuff. Not to bragg but I was top of my class 'AD' is exactly what you think it is. Either something is coming straight at you and the return is small. Or they are moving eats to west, north to south perpendicular to you and the return in bigger. If they are in a bank it will be even bigger. Lots of other factors for RADAR performace is the magintude, altitude, weather and even what the RADR is made of. Then we have 'Noise' to deal with as well. Just know the higher you are the farther you can see. The colder and dryer the weather (WX) is the better the RADAR works. Now does ED going about making of that a physical part of the game code. I don't think mopst peoples PC's in here copuld handle all that math in real time.

Former P-3C EWO here, well DCS is far far away from being able to be worked realistically in EW, the D & F can still work. There are a lot of factors at play here. I'll get more into it when I get home. I'm at work for 2 more hours.

Wont be long now guys. I am fixing all of the "f-15_stab_v" .dds files. the Serial Numbers are all out of position on side. I am almost done maybe another hour. I fell asleep today because of the heat this afternoon. Plus I always have a cigar after every skin pack I make -
I'd certainly buy one too. I'm willing to bet that would be a $150 ~ $200 module. That still would not deter me, even if it was always and only AI crew members. We actually really, really need dedicated bombers. In reality, I think we have more of a chance getting an Su-24M and am FB-111A before any big bombers ever came. Id be totally fine with that. There would be an audience, especially me since SEAD is all I do. It has served in Germany in the 60's but then replaced by F-4's.

Making progress, expect release of the 19th FS tonight and the 12th FS this weekend. I need a little break so I'm going t go hope in my Tomcat, cat shoot off the bow, and go move mud. I feel the need -
Ah, I had a brain fart I see . Yeah the SBD-5 would be great! I personally want an A-26B or a hard nose Mitchell.

During my F-105 research, I cam across this faupaux seen below. What actuiall plane is that? It's not a Thud OR A 102/106, but I like it.

I was just thinking right now that what a journey this has been with the research. All of the teammwork in here, and look at all we have now. If I have to be conservative, I'd say I have personally spent about 1000hrs researching, chasing rabbits, scouring, you name it. My last material aquisition was from an aerospace school in Ohio. Such an odd place to find things. I am glad that I did. I will continue the hunt for every scrap.

Yeah but I have no idea how to contact them and even get a reply. I'm sure they are busy with the Eurofighter right now. I'd have to contact someone like Magnitude 3 or Grinnelli. Mag just dropped a module so their plate should be open, and they've already developed a similiar aircraft, the MiG-21BiS. Grinnelli is just about to pop with their F-100D (I am assuming), and they have experience with an American Vietnam Aircraft. The thing about US Fighter Planes is that there are some of shared components between every manufacturer. Once you begin to understand how they operate, jumping from plane to plane becomes less of a chore. For example, with my F4U-1d, I didn't have to go through the training missions to use the "Bat Bomb". I know it's a guided weapon. I know I need a detetcion signal, and a lock, and a maximum employment range just on experience with all the other planes I have. I know the fatser and higher I am the better it will work. Once we have a 'D' Model, making an 'F' really should not be an issue other than performance and aerodynamics. The back seat is literally the front seat with less equipment (correct me if I am wrong). Now the the 'Gift Horse', which is the 'G' model, and probabaly the most sought after in this thread will be challenging. I have yet to come across any supporting documention on how any of the ECM or EW systems worked. I do not own the module but I think HB did a bang up job on their AN/APR-25 (I saw it on YouTube). Also their are no flying examples. The only well intact 'G' I know of is in the Smithstonian. And like Joe said in his interview (Grinnelli), getting a museum to let you crawl all over their priceless artifcraft is tough. They also have a 'D' model as well. Even using scafolding and 'soft gauges' (photogrametry) might be a tough sell to them. I'm only speculating though. I really wish I knew how to code in .LUA and model in Blender, I'd be well on my way building a MOD for us. I'm sure I can learn it. If I can use SolidWorks (hobbyist), CREO (professionally), and CATIA V5 (professionally; I can do that.

I paid money for this and will not upload it. I have more stuff that is not included in my download. What I have compiled was free and publicly available. I am about to order two more books that are $400 and $800 soon. I dont care about the free stuff. I am sure someone here is trying to sell all of that right now (to the illinformed), LOL.

Constant Stuttering Frequence since 30th of May update
SOLIDKREATE replied to ejbhimself's topic in Game Performance Bugs
This has been happening since the last update for me. If I use the outside view camera to view the skin I just made for mistsakes, it stutters when rotating around. This game itseld is taking a lkarge amount of time to even boot up too. It even takes forever to shut down. LOG FILES.zip -
Hello, As of the last update I have been experiencing unusually long load times launching DCS. Click the icon in the taskbar. Usually one or two min go by before DCS will boot up. Once it does, it take a while for it to log me in. When I open the mission editor on a mission that I have saved, it takes an unusually long time to load. Closing the game just hangs and hangs, then crashes out. This is on a fresh installation. GPU drivers are up to date. BIOS has been flashed as of yetserday. This happens both in regular DCS and in the MT version. LOG FILES.zip
