As there has been a request, I have added an image below. I will get back to you within 24 hours with clear instructions, but you may find info elsewhere with a search. (Not my particular tweaks though.) Anyone else is welcome to help here if they have something to add. NB. ED does not want you posting bug reports if you have edited any files.

To point 1: As per others plus... I also have TIR 4 with the cap clip and it works great. If you are not already aware you can use version 5 software with TIR4. They have 64 bit drivers out now at naturalpoint.com I've never fully got rid of the jitters when looking down, but careful profiling can make it good enough. You will not be able to get the panel views that you want with TIR (maybe someone has done it, but not me). I use snap views from editing the views files. I can snap to CDU, Tacan, Radios, Engines, warning panel, HUD and of course MFCDs. I'll show you how if you want to try it. Enjoy the journey, BiPod.

I'm on Kenan on this one, and I beleive my Dell is not given easily to overclocking. Anyway, with my personality, if I start down that road it won't stop until there is liquid nitrogen spilt all over my carpet

Also, I recommend getting yourself an instructor. They may be expensive but they are worth the price. These forums will only take you so far :D Don't forget your camera, you need to capture one of those "OMG I just did it" smiles. Good luck!

Cheers. That makes sense.

Actually, that's a really good point. I was "dead is dead" in Falcon but not in Blackshark. (deliberately holding off serious campaigning in A10 until release). I never really thought about the paradox in my thinking. I guess it was because "dead is dead" was default in falcon, but not in Blackshark. BiPod.

In a dynamic campaign such as Falcon 4.0, keeping the pilot alive was paramount as death meant the end of the campaign. You could revive him of course but to me that was cheating. As soon as you received minimal damage and felt the missions probability of success was lowered, you would bug out and desperately nurse your sick bird home. It really encouraged you to learn the backup systems like RMI etc... Of course the set piece missions in the DCS series just work better, so its pros and cons I guess. Sorry to the OP, but I guess this is kind of on topic. BiPod.

Interesting stuff. I still don't know how this information helps protect our systems. I assume they are shutdown but why is such a long warning needed? I've never heard a satisfactory explanation.

:Hijack Alert: As there is no dynamic campaign: In case of engine fire->dive towards nearest Shilka and ...GUNS GUNS GUNS! :Hijack Over: Can't beleive I am not doing this. I always reprogram the MFCDs. I have a vague memory that I tried it long ago and it didn't work in that situation. I must revisit this thanks. Definately reprogram once the emergency is over. I'ts fairly quick and easy.

You know when it's time to take a break from DCS A10-C when..
BiPod replied to HAVOC131's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I haven't got this method to work either. Perhaps its a beta 4 bug?:) -
So that's how they can afford all this....cheap monkey labour. I suspected as such.

According to the purchase page your system meets minimum specs but is well short of maximum. Your CPU is well above my 2.4 Quad core as the sim only utilises 2 cores. Your ATI is behind my ATI 5770 1Gb and this is an issue, but the sim is meant to be more CPU dependant. I get great fps from 30-70+ with annoying but acceptable stutters when things get really busy. I do not fly online. I have my settings on medium to high. I expect that medium will work for you and this is good enough for a purchase. This issue has been covered previously, and I recommend trying a search if you have not done so already. Maybe your exact specs have already been looked at, and much of the conversation is in depth. BiPod. 2.4 Quad (Q6600), ATI 5570 1Gb, 4G DDR2 ram, 1680x1050 res, Win 7 64 bit.

Beautiful poetry:thumbup: I'm glad I will never have to face you in battle. You have steel discipline. To tie this to the OP I think it shows that CDU usage is going to depend on [player] philosopy as much as objective requirements. IMHO the CDU is going to be the last system to be mastered and most will not go all the way. After all this is just a g...... (oops, almost started a flame war there). Lack of dynamic campaign severely reduces my motivation to bring that sick bird home. I am personally well behind Strongharm, but I see his footprints in the sand. BiPod.

"You da man" kaiser! Got it to work. Really just a RTFM issue. *******EDIT: Now I am not rushed******* DSMS-->INV-->Mk-82 AIR FIXED HI-->BOMB-->Mk-82 AIR-->click CONFIG FIXED HI to CONFIG FIXED LO-->Load Ignore nose fusing on left. It is not modelled in the sim. Ignore red conflict indication. Click STAT and select Mk-82 AIR FIXED LO (it will be in red) -->PROF-->N/T to Nose-->SAVE Don't forget to make it a new profile if you want the changes in the STAT page to be permanent. ****** The following is retained for "historical" reasons only. No need to read END OF EDIT ********** Have to go so here's a quick and dirty method: Select weapon in DSMS->INV->Bomb->rack->Mk-82AIR->OSB to FIXED LO EDIT:Forgot to add -> LOAD (I really did rush this, sorry I have to go) (I left fusing at left to none, but perhaps you should change this?) Then RET and reselect the weapon and change fusing on view pro page then save (phew). Notes: -Ignore the red "this is wrongly loaded" indication. -I didn't see if the bombs exploded -I blew myself up a couple of times on release, so I am still doing something wrong. -Sorry if I made a mistake in the "quick and dirty" above. I am rushing. I won't post more until I know what I am doing. (Don't want to mislead anyone). Cheers all and thanks, BiPod.

I am certain there are no unguided bombs in those 2 missions. So I will call this resolved unless someone disagrees. As to the "invalid fuzing" issue, I have the same problem. Yours in simming, BiPod.
-
Ok. In a quick test I couldn't find a "frozen" screen for unguided bombs but... Are you sure you are editing an unguided bomb not a GBU-38 JDAM? You can't change any of the simple settings for this and must use CCRP. Clicking OSB's will have no effect. From memory, there are no unguided bombs in the early quick missions. Check this when you get the opportunity. Cheers.
-
Hmmm...Odd. I haven't seen this one. It should work. Check you are clicking the correct OSB. Parallax error may cause you to click the wrong one if you are viewing from above. You may also be on the wrong page but I don't think so. I'll check to see if there is a "frozen" page, and get back to you. Anyone else have an idea? BiPod

P.S. I don't think you can change the drag. You are meant to be able to do it with the fusing but it doesn't work for me. I haven't tested this since an early beta. Maybe it has been changed. I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm just doing it wrong, but I think it's a fault. EDIT: This is not a fault. See post 19

I had trouble getting my changes to "take" at first as well. Don't forget to click the flashing save button after making your changes. Also if you change profiles without naming them, your save will be lost when you select another profile. This is a tricky bit. (Ie, you must use your changes straight away or lose them). If this is not your problem I will be happy to give you a walkthrough. BiPod.

Wow! you have a really wide stance there. A foot in two countries:thumbup: Great vid. Just makes me jealous though. BiPod.

He was saying that you were blowing you're own trumpet.

I would be throwing myself in front of him. StrongHarm and I are not in agreement. I just don't want to take this any further. No ones opinions will be changed, and I respect StrongHarms rights. I was just noting the chasm in diffence of viewpoint on this issue, in otherwise similar nations. A right is a right. That's the only argument StrongHarm needs. BiPod.
-
Cheers. I just couldn't get past that first phrase:) Deep down inside, you and I both know exactly who I would be shouting out to if I got into trouble;) P.S. I don't know what a tritium night site is, but it sounds pretty cool.

Hi StrongHarm, Hehehe...raising the gun issue in America is like waving a red flag while standing between two bulls. You're going to get charged from both directions! Asparagins comment was spot on. In Australia gun ownership is about 5% (occupational and sporting), but the issue is framed as a societal one rather than as a personal rights issue, and nobody really cares. If you look at the worldwide pattern of private gun ownership, I doubt there is a strong correlation with freedom. Australia is almost identical to the U.S. in culture, wealth and political status and yet we are diametrically opposed on gun ownership. This points to the historical accident of the phrase "right to bear arms", rather than a intrinsic rights issue. Just think of the phrase "right to take heroine" and you can see what I mean. Australia has traditionally had more political freedom than the U.S., and many Western European nations effectively have more free speech (just don't mention the war;)). Each nation is complex and unique. In fact, forget everything I just said and re-read Asparagins post. he said it more succintly. Viva la freedom! Hope you enjoy your new gun! I just couldn't let this one pass:lol: EDIT: This might be a bit too political for these forums, and I know others will have strong views on this. Sorry if I have overstepped the mark. Over and OUT.

I don't like it with TIR, and it makes it much harder to use mouseclicks while maneuvering. Off for me.
