  1. I'm happy to report Jester is keeping up the traditions:
  2. It's going to be a paid module, but it doesn't seem like it's coming anytime soon (Aerges have to finish the F-1M before). On the positive side, the Mirage F-1 is an amazing module, so I don't expect the 104 to be anything less.
  3. I do exactly the same. And I see it real time, on the OpenXR Toolkit overlay VRAM usage, going from 100% back to 60/70% after you alt+tab. We have reported this, they don't care.
  4. The dynamic campaign from that F-16 old game. Throw that amount of units on a map in DCS and tell me how it goes. And it was done by a single guy.
  5. I don't have a strong interest in the F-15 but always thought I was going to get it eventually. Not after all this. I have the Harrier and the MiG-19, but I bought the latter knowing it was a half-dead module. That's on me. Yes on the Phantom. It's the plane I always wanted, plus I have the Tomcat, I love it, and expect the F-4 to be the same or better. No on Kola.
  6. Yes, seems it will be 79.99 once the preorder is over.
  7. Throwing hardware at DCS is the fastest way to bankrupt yourself while not solving performance problems at the same time. The game is just badly optimized.
  8. One of the most critical settings is to limit the fov. Quest 2 has a noticeable portion of the screen you don't even see but it's being rendered anyways, wasting gpu power. Cutting that part out will give you additional performance. It depends on the person. For me at 0.9 I can't tell the difference. At 0.85 I start to notice the black box if I try very hard. At 0.80 I clearly see it's there. Try different values to see what's best for you. If you don't want the tray tool, you can use the inbuilt debug tool as the guy above me suggests.
  9. "Guardian angel" module from @cfrag's DML may accomplish what you're trying to do.
  10. Try these. I have a similar PC, but with an older CPU (10400), and I'm able to maintain 72fps most of the time, except when on the ground in crowded bases or flying over big cities.
  11. Funny. His post described you perfectly.
  12. It seems there are more people complaining about the complaining, than people complaining. Funny how that works.
  13. No problem mate. Glad to have helped.
  14. Set DLSS to quality and the sharpness slider all the way to max. If that doesn't solve the problem, increase the pixel density a bit. For example, if you're at 1.2, set it to 1.3 or 1.4.
  15. Look at Elite Dangerous if you want to know what happens if you ram a half cooked first person shooter into a game designated entirely for flying. Spoiler alert: nothing pretty.
  16. For a 5090 you're talking about a year at minimum. Probably a year and a half until you can get one in your hands. As others have suggested, a 4070ti Super is a good alternative right now. Enough VRAM, good performance, decent price.
  17. Two new accounts appeared on the same day writing a wall of text about ED going into subscription model. Something smells fishy.
  18. Most of the many mods I use to make DCS bearable are not allowed in MP, so I don't even bother anymore.
  19. So I've already spent money buying many modules and now I'd have to keep paying to use them? Sure..
  20. You need two things beforehand: - DCS's "Enable Virtual Reality Headset" option checked. - In the Meta Desktop App - Settings - General - Open XR Runtime - set Meta Quest Link as the active OpenXR Runtime Then power up your Quest 3, connect it to your PC via cable or airlink and start DCS. That is all. If your headset is powered up and connected, DCS will start in VR mode. Otherwise it will start in 2D mode.
  21. How could a stock function of the game itself and available to anyone be a cheat?
  22. The one included with Windows is enough. I've used Avast and Kaspersky recently, both were decent but I don't really need an external antivirus. I know where I'm clicking and what I'm dowloading.
  23. I started with the Steam version because it had regional prices, that is no longer the case, so now I use the standalone version. It's not possible to convert a standalone installation into steam version, or steam version into standalone. You can transfer all modules you buy in Steam to standalone version (that's what I did), but you can't transfer standalone modules into Steam, as fas as I know.
