  1. Thanks. Is it possible to upgrade it or does it require a separate purchase?
  2. You would need also other effects simulated as well, not just the basket. Like, damaging the radome, angle of attack vanes and so on...
  3. I don't have any insight about what is actually going on in the background, but if you dump enough flares no IR will hit you. I haven't been hit, in the flanker, by an IR missile for 2 years now, except im cases when I did not know they're coming.
  4. You can't really model any of this in DCS, 'cause flares are just a random generator. Even if you decrease flare sensitivity, if the target has enough flares one will eventually work.
  5. How is this even possible? AIM-7 has no data-link, plus SARH missiles need target illumination for terminal guidance.
  6. My CPU also has only 4 cores. The affinity setting is a workaround, that someone here on forums discovered, where you first deselect one of the cores on DCS.exe and then straight after re-select "all" and MT magically runs smooth again. I don't know what's the techical reason behind it, but it works in my case. In my case it seemed physically impossible that a ST version would run smooth and MT would stutter due to hardware. Luckily a workaround for my issue was found.
  7. Shouldn't it mean "failiure"? P.S. I actually don't speak Russian
  8. I am no expert but if your ST runs DCS smoothly then so should your MT. I had also an issue on a 10yr old rig with MT and after digging through forums for months, I found out that my issue can be solved by resetting the core affinity. My point is, don't take the "car dealership" approach first and start throwing money at the hardware if you really don't need to. I say again, this is provided that your ST runs fine. I've had ppl tell me all sorts of things, which turned out to be complete nonsense.
  9. I am still to dig out more information about it, but I am failing to understand why would it be a problem to calculate the impact time? The targeting computer already calculates in real time the launch zone parameters.
  10. The bible does not mention how it does it, just that it is the time-to-impact indicator. What good would it be if it's only a 60s timer, if you fire at Rne for example? TTI would have operational value as you could potentially disengage after the timer runs out. I will have to try and read more about it... There is no notch in a look-up, as there's nothing to filter out.
  11. Su-27/33 and MiG-29 radars in DCS loose track in a look-up situation unless you switch PRF which you have no indication of.
  12. Or flies below 20m
  13. You made me look in the cookbook . Yes it's a time to impact indicator, or how it's originally written: "time until the missile meets the target". Now to tell the truth I have made a mistake, this indicator is not an arrow on the right side, but rather a shrinking horizontal line located at the very top, just below the heading tape.
  14. Specs are in the signature. I am running clean DCS, ie. no mods. Nothing set in NVidia, that is default settings. Have not cleared metashaders.
  15. Not sure what you mean by more info?
  16. I have same on BS2 in MT.
  17. A simulator tries to simulate things and does things for sake of reality, a game does them for the sake of entertainment. Counter-Strike is a game, X-Plane is a simulator, kind of thing. It's the first time in DCS community that I have heard of a term "simulator game", where you are trying to consolidate two opposing terms into one. If you blur the line between simulation and arcade like that, it opens up doors for anything to be called a simulator and this IMHO is wrong. Is Warthunder, for example a simulator, a game, or a gamulator?
  18. BTW that little arrow on the right side is the closure rate indicator, and once fired an arrow on the left side of the same vertical line, shows time-to-impact.
  19. I was pointing out that the initial screenshot was not taken from an "S" variant, not that the PRF indicator was not there in the real thing. Anyway I think you can tell wether a Sukhoi aircraft is an SM variant, by presense of that "square bracket" on top of the airplane datum on the HUD.
  20. Thank you very much for acknowledging publicly something I was suspecting for years now. Only thing that bothers me is your product's name: DCS should really be changed to DCG, 'cause calling something like this a simulator is missleading. Or at least putting an asterisk behind it, so that people are aware what are they getting them selves into. Me personally, I am very pleased by your post - it has definitely cleared things up for me.
  21. I know I've marked it as solved, but ED should really address this somehow.
  22. It was meant more as a description of how easy it is to land it
  23. JF-17 is like one of those calculators for elderly people that have gigantic keys.
  24. Hi and thank you for your reply. My CPU is old and has only 4 cores, but by re-setting the affinity in the task manager I was able to get rid of stutter in MT. I will also try if the shortcut update can automate this.
