Gunfighter IV: not worth it, or is it?
Pavlin_33 replied to Pavlin_33's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
I am very happy to hear that your unit is working fine. They've asked me to raise ticket with support and check tha cam alignment. I am guessing that's my next step... -
JF-17 Block III with better Engines and HMD
Pavlin_33 replied to afridrhine's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Excuse the my ignorance, but isn't the Jeff up there wit the F-16 in turn performance? -
I wonder how many people would buy an early access mobile phone, car or an operating system for example. I would like to think not many, but who knows?
-
I'm a little bit nit-pickin' here, but when it comes to turn rate/turn radius, any speed below (or above) max rate in a rate fight will just equal worse performance. When it comes to radius fight, any speed higher than just above stall value will have the same effect. Smaller radius in a rate fight and better rate in a radius fight will not help, 'cause of geometry.
-
I was under the impression that 8° AoA is the "on speed" value for the Flanker.
-
Not really related to the original topic, but in DCS you can always use polar coordinates (hdg/distance) to navigate your Flanker.
-
One great thing is that you have an angle-of-attack indicator in your cockpit. This will tell you when the plane will stall, for example, so you already can determine the VSO your self. I believe VY should be 900km/h TAS, but I am not 100% sure. The RL manual has it as the climb speed. If memory serves me right VNE is M2.5 (cockpit canopy limited) and I can't remember the IAS at the moment. I can check for the rest if I have time.

Feature request: Kollsman window in barometric altimeter
Pavlin_33 replied to TOViper's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Well technically it's not useless, 'cause you can still set your altimeter to read zero before takeoff, i.e QFE. -
How does airliners appear on Hornet's sensors IRL?
Pavlin_33 replied to Darcaem's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
There's no way any civilian airliner can respond as friendly. They all have same types of transponders. -
Aim120 can be trashed with a barrel roll and chaff headon
Pavlin_33 replied to GRY Money's topic in Weapon Bugs
Slobodan Peric, who was hit by a 120, reported that it felt like a truck had hit his MiG, so I am pretty sure that after a "direct" hit there's no limping back home. He was lucky to have been hit at the rear, unlike his wingman who tragically died. -
We used the term "Dolly" to indicate that we have a traget on the data-link.

Wait what? To which maneuver is R-27 immune? Probably the worst performing missile when it comes to energy retention while maneuvering is the Alamo. That thing goes from warp speed to nothing in a blink of an eye. Also, why is eveyone up in arms when it comes to the proximity fuse? IRL blast radius will depend on many factors. -
It's not ED's fault, it's our fault as the consumers. Simply don't buy early access and you will force them to ship out only finished products. EA is nothing more than a promise and there is no guarantee that this promisse will be fulfilled.

What is the actual range of R-77 air to air missile?
Pavlin_33 replied to JOKERACTS's topic in Weapon Bugs
If you consider the 77 as a radar guided 73, then it's not crappy Anything else and you will get dissapointed. Oh and also don't forget to kindly ask your target not to throw chaff -
Gunfighter IV: not worth it, or is it?
Pavlin_33 replied to Pavlin_33's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
I do, but I was thinking that it might be appropriate to post here also. -
Dear ED, Please move "jayhamocs" to weapons inventory, so that mission editors can limit them - effectively caping Hornet's "moderness" when desired.

Dear VKB, I am writing you an open request to improve your "Gunfighter IV" base. I had just bought one brand new only to be disappointed by a very unpleasant grinding feel and sound when operating the stick. It turns out that the issue is caused by the cam/bearing assembly and it makes this quite expensive base feel like cheap plastic. Luckily by experimentation I have manged to mitigate the issue. Solution was, applying Nyogel 767A to the cam's surface which completely got rid of both the grinding feel and the noise. I was ready to return the stick back, but after this mod it's here to stay. My request is the following: please consider pre-lubricating fore mentioned parts or at least offer some sort of heavy-duty dampening lube. You have a great product that is missing a small but very important part to function as expected: a high quality premium product. ~S~

SCG “Kosmosima” (EVO NXT) with Gunfighter IV
Pavlin_33 replied to Pavlin_33's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Looks like it's possible: http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?p=63588#p63588 -
Does anyone know if it's possible to pair my SCG “Kosmosima” grip, that I currently have on my EVO NXT, with a Gunfighter IV base? I am located in EU and have found this kit here, but I am not sure as it states that it supports only Mk. II and Mk. III version of the base: https://flightsimcontrols.com/product/scg-grip-conversion-kit/ Would be great if anyone could give me a hand with this one. Thanks in advance.

Expectation on Air to Air missiles of the MiG-29A?
Pavlin_33 replied to pepin1234's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Airframes can be compared with and without pilots inside them. It only really makes sense comparing them if the pilots have exactly the same skill level, otherwise it's pretty pointless. I know virtual pilots that will take you out in a "trash can", but that says little about the aiframe itself. -
I don't think this should be possible.
-
Wait, AIM-7 have no DL, so how are they supposed to keep tracking when the radar is no longer illuminating the target?

MiG-29's BFM characteristics / doubts
Pavlin_33 replied to Top Jockey's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
I have not flown it in a while. Will check... -
Switch to R-73s and it will not lock. I use it all the time 'cause the NATO drivers don't pay attention to Soviet radars unless they are being hard-locked.
-
It's good for keeping a soft lock on a target without them getting alerted.
