  2. I'll, take a look. I know both CJS super bug and the Brother Rafale have Tanker versions. I also think the Super bug has the buddy tank (non functional) as an option to hang on the E/F so maybe......Also if you are a fan of the Rafale I've posted updated luas to improve AI capability with Rafale/CDG carrier combo and for the SEM/Clemenceau as well can be found their forum threads. I have more AI updates (may work for players?) for the French stuff as well but I need to clear it with the Brothers before I post.

  4. So it looks like the catapults are not working for humans on CDG. But a good pilot shouldn't need them,. Ok, truth be told my feet got a little wet and I don't think that will work with a weapons load out, lol. I'll see if I can get the catapults working. . Rafale should work with the cats on Nimitz from what I recall reading. Il semble donc que les catapultes ne fonctionnent pas pour les humains sur CDG. Mais un bon pilote ne devrait pas en avoir besoin,. Ok, à vrai dire, mes pieds se sont un peu mouillés et je ne pense pas que cela fonctionnera avec une charge d'armes, lol. Je vais voir si je peux faire fonctionner les catapultes. . Rafale devrait travailler avec les chats sur Nimitz d'après ce que je me souviens avoir lu.
  5. If you are flying (human pilot) I've not done that for take off. I have landed so I know that works. IF AI planes Only the catapults worked with AI using the original CDG/RAFALE. For the the AI planes to use catapults/ramp starts you need the updates I did for both the ship and the plane(s). Every thing should be in this thread. But my updates are not tested with human pilots and are meant for AI use. Although I did not do anything on purposes that should have made them not work with a human pilot. Here is the AI taking off Si vous volez (pilote humain), je n'ai pas fait ça pour le décollage. J'ai atterri donc je sais que ça marche.   6. As far as I know the current Rafale mod form Cuesta works very well as a flyable plane and should work from the catapults on Charles De Gaulle and Nimitz. Although I've not done much flying with it personally. If you are doing the flying I'd advise sticking with the Mod in it's original state. My updates are mainly for AI use.   8. Great job guys on the L-61 and the other ships as well. It's great to have Spanish ships to add to NATO fleets. I've update the L-61 for AI take off of 12 Harriers or F-35Bs. Not sure where I left off on the landing stuff. Figuring out how to do the landing stuff for the STOVL planes/carrier was a bit of a nightmare, lol. But I think I've got figured out. I've done AI updates for just about ever MOD (and stock) carrier out there. I'm in the early process of getting in contact with the MOD creators to share my update with them and the community at large.   9. There is a Cavour MOD out there. It's in the pic I posted a few post back. But it's in the background and hard to see. I've only got 4 F-35s setup for take off currently. There are static planes on the deck that are part of the model so making a take off/landing lua for that ship will not be easy. I think Patrick of the Cuesta team had a hand in the mod. Let me know if you cant find it. I believe Patrick is aware of my updates to the Clemenceau/Charles De Gaulle Carriers and aircraft Mods they done. You can find them on their forum threads. But I need to get in contact with him before I release anything else as I'm stating to make some bigger changes and I don't want to upset anyone. As the Admiral said, I too get a little ADHD in my modding. I currently have sort of working updated take off luas for 18 carriers, most of them mod units, lol
  10. I setup an "escort" battle the other night. Nato escorts vs the CCP escorts. Both fleets closed to gun range firing missile starting at around 30 nm I think. Good fun. Although I'm a little surprise how inaccurate the naval gun fire was in a ship vs ship dual. Took a long time to score enough hits to sink anything. I understand the ship damage modeling and hull "points" are a bit all over the place in DCS but it seemed like for every gun hit there were 7-8 misses? Curious to see what range they start firing missiles if I add some recon/intel assets like AWACS. I'm pretty sure I've seen the "escorts" fire anti ship missiles at much longer ranges in some of the carrier battles I've setup. Still good fun to watch ans so cool to be able to setup mission with nothing but MOD units.
  11. That's great. With the Charles De Gaulle and Mistral ship out there the French Navy has enough assets out there to form it's own CSG/ARG.
  12. Nice, I will send you my updated lua files for the stuff I've done. I've got LHA-6 just about done. I might try and split LHA6/7 into separate units so I can do a Assault Helicopter/Osprey version with a few F-35s and then a "lighting carrier" version with 20-24 F-35s Currently you can do 12 F-35s short take off with either 8 vertical TO F-35s or 8 Helos/Osprey. But I'll send you the files or check with you first before I release anything. The landing stuff is tricky due to the de spawn timer(still trying to figure out how to control that) and the STOVL planes are a real pain when it come to landing, lol. I've been able to setup some pretty epic "What if" AI naval battles thanks in many parts to your work. So once again awesome job.
  13. Thanks for all your work Admiral (and all the others out there). The Nato Fleet(s) are really starting to come together. I've updated most of the carriers for AI take off. Still quite a bit of work to do on the landing stuff but I'm getting there.
  14. Sorry for the delay with the Rafale updates. To many cool things to work on, lol. I did some tests and here is what i found out. I added the Jas 39 Mod meteors to Rafale and changed the radar type to match the jas39's radar (F-15 radar I think). AI will fire them at around 15-20nm without AWACS support and around 20-40nm with AWACS support. The AI does not need the targeting pod fitted. IR and gun should also work The AI will no longer fire the orig meteors even with the pod fitted, maybe due to the radar change?Also if the orig metors are fitted the AI will not use the gun because it's trying to fire the missiles. It did still fire the IR missiles. I added the dual rail launcher to both wing pylons. not sure if that's realistic, but you don't have to fit them if that kind of thing brother you, lol. And you have to have the Gripen mod install for the new missiles to show up on Rafale. I want to check with the with everyone and make sure they are ok with me releasing first but hopefully it can be posted soon. As I understand it there are different versions of the Rafale (AA and AG) so the human pilots can access the correct cockpit/avionics to fly/use the correct weapons. I'd like to create an AI only version that is multi-role where the AI can access and do all mission type but the 2 version thing is working fine for now so that's a project for later as I learn more about how the weapons work. I need to find out if the original meteors and/or new ones can be fired by a human pilot when the pod is fitted. My current guess is maybe.....
  15. Let me take a look at the Rafale again. I believe I was able to add the meteors from the equally great jas39 Gripen mod and the AI would fire them at the correct range (30-40nmish) Note the jas39 mod must be installed as well for this to work. I think I had to change the Rafale radar type as well. I have seen the AI fire the orig Rafale meteors from over 20nm BUT it's very rare, mostly it will fire them from under 10nm. I've always assumed they worked correctly for a human pilot but I've never tested that, lol. I'll test the Rafale again and figure out where I left off and post what I can soon.
  16. I recently came across an article in an old Flight Journal magazine (Sept. 2017) by Eric Hammel about Marine A-4s working with an Amry O-1 over Hue. Great read if you can find it. especially if you are a fan of the A-4. The call sign for the A-4s tin the story was "Helborne 513"
  17. Sorry about that. I took a quick look at the code and both should work fine as I think the only difference is one had more AG weapons fitted for the AI (and maybe human) to use. Did not have time to boot up the game as look at them there. I left that one and took down the other. Let me know if you have any major issues with it. I think I posted the 2 Ms by mistake when one was supposed to be the Tanker. The correct tanker version should be posted and working as well. Sorry I got a little side tracked with version 2 of Clemenceau. I'll be posting that soon as well as an updated Raflae with meteors that AI can fire at the correct range.(will require the JAS39 Gripen Mod) The Ai does not seem to like firing the current meteors at the correct range

  19. The Clemenceau class ships of the French Navy. Clemenceau and Foch. Now updated as separate units with correct hull numbers and deck letters. (Foch must use a livery)and capable of launching and landing 20 AI planes or helicopters or a mix of both. Landing that many aircraft will require some planning in ME and you will not see all 20 parked on the deck because of the de spawn timer. I will also include early 60/70? deck liveries without the large white triangle for each ship. Doing some final testing now. I may disable 4 of the gun turrets in the lua to reflect the correct SAM refit armament a little more closely. Will be posting in a few days hopefully Les navires de classe Clemenceau de la marine française. Clémenceau et Foch. Maintenant mis à jour en tant qu'unités séparées avec des numéros de coque et des lettres de pont corrects. (Foch doit utiliser une livrée) et capable de lancer et d'atterrir 20 avions ou hélicoptères IA ou un mélange des deux.   20. Update to the Clemenceau Class carriers on the way. Yes I said carriers with an "S" . I hope to soon have 3 maybe four version/liveries working. They will be: Foch, setup to work with SEM, Rafale, F-18C and E-2/C2a Clemenceau, setup for "Amphibious Assault" role maximizing helicopter parking and take off/landing Clemenceau, setup for "Normal" load out SEMs and maybe a F-8N (no promises, lol) Clemenceau, setup for Etentard IV with original deck markings without the white triangle. It will most likely be a different lua ship file that you load a matching livery on, BUT I have found a different model that has different weapons mounted. I just need to see if I can get access to that model and then figure out which model is correct for each version of the ship is regards to the SAM launcher fitted. here is a sneak peak
  21. So I ran a test with my MOD files for the QE2 STOVL by Joey45 with the Vsn_F-35 2.8 and short take off with human pilot worked fine. I've never tired a vertical take off, lol so I'll test that later. I did notice that the AI gave the human player a different starting spot for vertical take off than it normally gives the AI pilots, but that's an issue with my ship mod and I dont think will be a problem???. Hopefully I'll be able to post full updates for the QE2 and VSN F-35, or at least some diy lua code and instructions. I'm just now starting to look into what I can release and whom to get permission from.
  22. I've only been using it with AI and have never flown the original mod. What version of the QE2 are you using? I've seen two out there that seem pretty good. Also do you have the latest VSN-35? Are you able to take off from land? If I recall correctly the orig F-35 would not operate as an AI aircraft from carriers and most of the MOD carriers out there only worked well with 1-2 player aircraft taking off from the catapults, which the QE2 should not have. Can you take off from the TARAWA or NIMITZ? It's been so long since I've used the MOD in their original form I can't remember how they behave, lol. Start with trying to take off in the F-35 from the stock carriers, the last VSN had a good read me with carrier instructions. That will let us know if you are having a ship or aircraft issues. I'll get the old stick and rudder out later and see If I'm able to take off using my current MOD files. Also try and see if you can take off from the QE2 with no weapons and maybe 50% fuel load. I know aircraft weight affects how the AI handles take off, not sure how it work with a human pilot. But if the AI can take off I don't think there is a "thrust issue" with the aircraft lua, The only time I've seen an issue like that is when the AI takes off from a stopped QE2 with a full load. The aircraft leaves the deck fine but then crashes into the sea. But if the carrier has good "wind over the deck" full AI take off work fine.
  23. 4 "Tanker Drones" ready for take off in support of 8 F-35B from the USS America. Drones will take off from ramp/runway start but the tanks are just for effect and do not have tanker capabilities And yes the F-35 skins and weapons are not correct, I forgot to change them back to US F-35Bs for the pics And thanks again for all your hard work.
  24. Hello all, I added the fixed Rafale Tanker lua to the CDG update post. Looks like I forgot to post it, but it turns out I had broken it somehow, but it's fix now. I also adjusted the the basket position. Hook up with Rafale, F-18C and F-35B look good for the most part. The probe will poke out of the basket nozzles for a few secs on some planes but mostly it stays hooked up well. I've not tested with anything else. Not sure why I posted two version of the M??? I need to look at those files and remove one of them. Anyways, Happy flying
  25. Wow some really cool stuff. Nice work. While you have been working on the future of naval warfare I've been working on the present/near future. I've been updating and adding AI capabilities to the many amazing present day (and past) naval mods out there. I've adding AI aircraft take off and landing to the Charles De Gaulle and Clemenceau ,by cuesta team for up to 16 plus aircraft on the deck and I've got 24 F-35B taking off and some landing on the QE2 STOVL MOD by joey45. I've also create a new version of the vsn F-35B for the Royal navy fitted with meteor, Aim-132 and Storm Shadow missiles plus most of the original vsn weapons. Plus a few others. The files for the French carriers are available in the forum threads for each ship and I hope to release files for the QE2 soon. I'd love to get my hands of the two carriers you have picture here. Are there files available for those? Anyways here some pics of what I've got working. It should be fun see your MODs take off from the different NATO carriers. I'll post some pic here once I get them all loaded. And thanks again for some cool new stuff
