  1. My pleasure, and you have been a big help as well I did find a problem with the Rafale tanker. I broke it, lol. When coping some data over I made it not a tanker. (D'oh) simple fix is just change "tanker type" from 4 back to 0 in the lua file. BUT I also noticed the basket does not line up correctly during refueling. I have fixed this best I can and will add the update file for the Rafale tanker later tonight/tomorrow. Thanks again.
  2. Hello all. And thanks to the VSN team for all the great aircraft. I've created a Royal Navy version of the F-35B with Meteor and Aim-132 missiles, and a few others, added to the load outs. I've also tweaked the AI flight data to "correct" specs and adjusted the weight so the AI can operate it from the QE2 carrier with both vertical and short take offs and vertical landings. Up to 32 aircraft can take off from the deck. Only a few can land right now as I still need to do some work on the carrier edits. As this is a separate lua file it can be used along side the original VSN F-35 MOD. I've only tested with AI so I have no idea how well the new weapons work with a human pilot yet. Let me know if there is any interest and I can look into getting some files posted.
  3. It goes in the same folder as the ship lua. Sorry, I left that part out of the read me. But just add the RunwaysAndRoutes.lua files to the same folder as the Clemenceau lua and you should be good. I split the original ship lua into the two seprerate files trying to access some features from SuperCarrier that have not worked out yet. Hope you enjoy the update

  5. I've add updated lua files for the French carrier Clemenceau. When used with the Sao Paulo livery included in the mod you get a historically correct aircraft carrier for 21st century A-4 fun. The Original mod and updated lua files can be found here (update file at/near end of thread). No changes were needed for the A-4.
  6. Hello All, I now have ready for release the second update in my Naval Aviation Update Mod version NAUM v1.F "the Marine Nationale", RN-98 Clemenceau. Now updated for use with AI aircraft allowing up 20 aircraft on the deck for take off and landing. The ability to fly the Etentard as in the original mod(s) should not be affected. You must already have the original Cuesta Brothers Team Clemenceau and aircraft mods installed. (Rafale/Etentard) Update to the Clemenceau include: Separate ship and Runway lua file Name changed in ME to FS-R-98Clemenceau. Map uses short display name R-98 during mission. Two catapults and up to 16 spawn points for correct French and US Navy aircraft including; Super Etentard, Rafale, E-2 Hawkeye, C2a greyhound, F/A-18C, A-4C). Other aircraft may work but have not been tested. Best results withEtentard. Etentard updates; Not much really other than adding the folding wings code to make it AI capable for carrier operations Known issues: Only tested for aircraft groups o 2 or 1. Groups of 3-4 may not work. Nose wheel-catapult hook up not working correctly but close Aircraft-catapult alignment not always correct from taxi varies by starting position. Worse for larger aircraft like E-2 Mixed aircraft types from ramp start may cause issues. Some combination will work. I’m sure some will not Launching and landing large amount of aircraft at the same time work BUT must be planned in the ME following some basic guidelines In the Read ME file Taxi routes and take off order are not perfect but the best I could get working currently.   7. Thanks. I'll send you the lua file if you like. And thank you for all the great MODs. The only thing I have left on the QE2 is the parking. I just need to map out and test some routes. Also I've got the F-35 landing vertically correctly. Well sort off, lol. It depends on aircraft weight so right now you have to set it up in the ME so the plane returns with a light fuel load. Also I've made a separate RN-F35 MOD for use with the British carriers. I fitted the Meteor and Aim-132 missiles and have the weight set so it will Short take off and if all weapons fire should (???) land vertically.
  8. So first off thanks for your great work I'm having a very strange take off issue with the Hermes but that not why I'm here. I could not find a thread for the QE2 so here I am. I've added AI take off (and landing soon) capabilities to the QE2 using the VSN F-35B. Up to 24 F-35B can take off from the deck using the ramp and I should have at least 10 or so landing. I just need to work out the parking spots. Here is an early test video of the take offs

  13. The AI does seem to have some issues with take offs and landing when using large amounts of aircraft and different types on the deck. And as far as I can tell you are correct that aircraft weight affects how the aircraft will land and take off, STOL vs VTOL or STOVL. The are different issues for both stock (official ships) and MOD ships and how both stock/Mod aircraft perform. Most if not all MOD carriers do not seem to support AI aircraft in large number as their creators made the ability for a player to fly and land a priority which makes total sense.   14. Update The French carriers Charles De Gaulle and Clemenceau are almost ready. Updated lua files will be posted in original Mod creators thread for each ship. (I'll provide a link here) the Charles Dr Gaulle should be posted in a few days and the Clemenceau shortly there after depending on how fast the testing can be done.

  16. In an earlier post I mistakenly said the French Navy had operated the C-5 from the Charles de Gaulle when I meant to say C2a greyhound. This is clearly a bad idea, but to my surprise the darn thing took off just fine.
  17. Again, Amazing work guys and thank you. I've barley had time to mess around with 2.0 and you are already on 2.1, lol Just a thought, and the 2.1 update might make this irrelevant, but could a static Aim 120 be added to the model for the disabled pylon in 2.0. I just thought that might be more visually appealing than an empty pylon. Given my total ignorance of 3-d modeling I apologize in advance if that's an unreasonable suggestion, lol Also this is such a small thing (see apology above). I noticed that when parked on the Nimitz deck planes on the starboard side have their main wheels just a little bit off the deck. While I could possible fix that with a custom lua for the nimitz, is there anything you could suggest that could be done to the plane lua without causing any issues? Also, I'm not asking for help or support but I thought you might find this interesting. After doing manual installs of both the 2.0 and the last version I somehow messed up the 2.0 install. Everything is working for my play style, (more combined arms, like the old harpoon game) but I somehow wound up with the original Super Hornet E/F/G showing as flyable (in place of the Lot 20) and all the other listed as AI aircraft? Again my bad and I'll sort it out later (maybe with 2.1 ) but I just found it interesting. Thanks again and great job.
  18. Thanks for the update. You are using the original MOD correct? I have not released and any files except for an early version in the Rafale thread. If I recall correctly the original mod worked great for single player and launching from the catapults, but the did not work for AI take off from the ramp. If I'm understanding things correctly it would make sense that player aircraft could not use the ramp start. Hopefully the fix that allows AI aircraft to start from the ramp will work for player aircraft as well. But I'm learning as I go, lol. But if the original mod works at all for multiplayer then there is hope I will post the updated carrier/aircraft files here later tonight or tomorrow hopefully. If you did find the updated early files from the other thread and tried those then....... This might be bad news for multiplayer. Thanks again for the info
  19. I'm unsure how it will work with multiplayer as that's not something I ever done. I'm kind of new to DCS. But I would like to make that happen is possible. Right now it's more for "combined arms" style play with ships . Setting up large naval battles was the idea behind it.
  20. Thanks Arrow 11. that information is very helpful. Here's a rough idea of what I have currently working (sort of, lol). CDG-16 take off/16 landing/parking CLM-20 take off/12 ish landing/parking Rafale, E-2, C-2 Greyhound and F-18C-G(stock/Superbug), and F-35C can operate from both US and French carrier with only minor issues as they do in real life. (except F-35C) QE2 STOVL-24 F-35B STVOL take off plus 8 helos or 8 F-35B VTOL. No vertical landing but.... lua had arresting wire so to my surprise an F/A-18 landed! Not realistic but means there hope? L-61 Jaun Carlos 12 Harrier STOVL take off. No landing. LHA-6 America 12 F-35B STOVL with 8 helos or 8 35B STVOL. No landing yet HMS Hermes had working but I broke something, lol Added 4 more take off spots to CV-59
  21. Hello, Very cool and thank you. I just saw this topic and thought I'd share this. It's the Clemenceau Mod from Cuesta Brothers Team and the A-4E-C Mod. I'm working on a naval aviation update to allow all the great naval mods out there to work together and updating the take off/landing for the maximum number of AI aircraft possible for each carrier . I'm in final testing of version 1 for the French Carriers. Can't wait to check out your mod
  22. Hello all, and thanks for this great mod. I thought the A-4 pilots here might enjoy a little 21st century fun with the A-4. I've got 20 AI A-4 launching from and 10 landing on the Brazilian carrier Sao Paulo. After arriving very late to the DCS world sim and seeing all the great Naval Aviation Mods out there I thought how cool would it be if all these mods could be used together. So I've been working on making that happen :). Yeah I'm a little crazy........... But because of the wonderful mod community here on the site I've made surprising progress. Updates to follow
  23. Almost done with the Clemenceau landing/parking. I now have 8 parking on the bow. Hoping for at least 12 overall. If I'm lucky maybe up to 16-18.
