  1. At a steady 72fps, VD has a latency of about 35-40 ms which includes game, encoding, networking and deciding latencies. I presume that with DP the only major latency is game latency? So with a maximum game latency of 13.8 ms (to maintain 72 fps) the overall DP latency would be about 20 ms. Am I working this out correctly? I don't know what the latencies are through oculus link cable, but the bitrate is 960 mbps h264 vs 150 mbps HEVC10 with VD. So I presume the latency would be a bit less with oculus link!? Do these latencies affect eye tracking? Is the tracking better through DP vs a link with compression?
  2. That's why I said "noticable". I was comparing my experience with the Rift S and Quest Pro. With VD there is a lag when moving your head quickly. I don't see this with quest link cable.
  3. You can also fix the DLSS/DLAA blurring by increasing the resolution.
  4. I only see latency wireless with VD. With oculus link cable there is no noticeable latency. It's the same as when using my Rift S. I still wish that the QP had DP though.
  5. Thanks for a very comprehensive overview. Extremely useful. I find the QP is very comfortable even without an extra strap. I don't use any face gasket so it makes it easier to get the lenses closer to my eyes. The sharpness is excellent so I would not really want to lose the crisp cockpit detail. Although I would prefer a DP connection I don't really notice any compression artefacts. I also have the Rift S and I find the immersion is better with the Quest Pro. I think this is because of the wider FoV and possibly as it is easier to control the binocular overlap. The Rift S feels like looking through a letter box when compared with the QP. I guess some of this comes down to head shape, relative eye position etc. I think I will stay with the QP for now.
  6. As Sleighzy said. QVFR is very different.
  7. The new nly way to reduce ghosting and smearing with DLAA/DLSS is to increase resolution. I would suggest trying Quad Views Foveated Rendering in fixed mode so you can set the centre resolution to about 1.5 and the periphery to about 0.5. this will reduce the artifacts. You can also use DLSS quality.
  8. What is your setup and DCS settings?
  9. Could you please elaborate? In what ways is it better? I am genuinely interested in if it is worth getting one. How does visual quality compare? And comfort?
  10. What resolution are you running the headset at and what are your DCS settings?
  11. Sweet spot refers to the centre focus. Fresnel lenses tend to have a small area of "good" focus in the centre. The lenses on the Quest Pro (and Q3, and Pixel Light, Super etc) are "good" across the whole frame. I can't comment on FoV.
  12. I have not tested it yet. I will try to look later today.
  13. I have tried the D9 a few times but have not bought it. I just couldn't get to grips with it. The K4 is my favorite warbird. I'm not sure why but I got the hang of it really quickly. I love flying it. I struggle with the A8 and the p47. I'm enjoying the F4U but not there yet. I might give the D9 another go.
  14. DLSS 310.4.0 is out. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/
  15. You will be constantly tweaking as you learn more. Welcome to the bottomless pit of VR. There is no return.
  16. You would be better off using Godlike or Ultra and leave PD at 1.0. The next thing I would suggest is using Quad Views Foveated Rendering. This will give you a performance boost and allow you to run a higher resolution in the centre of view. I used QVFR in fixed mode with my Pico 4 for about a year before I bought a Quest Pro. BTW you can pick up a used QP for about £300-400 on eBay if you want to try out Dynamic Foveated Rendering.
  17. Sorry. I meant your headset. I see that you are using VD and have PD at 1.1 in DCS. What setting do you have in VD? Godlike?
  18. What resolution are you using?
  19. It looks like you have re-projection (SSW, or Synchronous Space Warp) enabled. This will half the frame rate and insert extra frames to keep 72Hz. In VD look for the setting SSW enabled, disabled and automatic in the headset VD menu and set it to "disabled". The you will see your actual FPS.
  20. On paper the PSVR2 appears to be better but the QP is a very good headset; much better than the raw stats would suggest. I had hoped that someone might have direct experience with both the QP and PSVR2.
  21. Does anyone have a Super living near(ish) Cambridge UK that would be willing to demo? I'd really like to see how it looks.
  22. I'm saving up for this: https://dofreality.com/flight-motion-simulator/
  23. I have not gone above 12.5 GB even with the Phantom over Germany or Marianas. I agree that 24 GB has better longevity than 16 GB though. If the rumors are true.
  24. Get a third party one rather than a Meta one. A lot cheaper. e.g. https://amzn.eu/d/6hLLTmT This one also has a charging port. Another option to consider is using Virtual Desktop rather than Meta link.
  25. Wait until you accidentally crash into another plane. The first time is a real shock!!
