  1. You can always go into the mission editor, open the pre-2.7 missions and campaign missions, change the weather setting to something other than "Nothing", resave it and you will be set. That is what I have been doing rather than waiting for all the various mission makers and ED to do it.
  2. Best of all, adding these filters is very simple and would require minimal coding addition to the site without impacting anything else or introducing vulnerabilities to the code (assuming best practices are implemented). End of the day, these are simple html/database queries. Easiest solution would be to just follow what major search engines provide. A simple search for the lay person, intermediate for those who have an idea what they are looking for and an advanced search for people more inclined to learn search syntax to zero in specifically on what they want. I imagine with all ED has their hands full with, their website is probably the least of concern...but here is to hoping!
  3. I am with the OP. Currently, you can either use the given filters, OR use keyword, but not both. The current filters are very useful, but the addition of a keyword constrained within the current filtering would be...what's the word...nirvana? Utopia? I'd almost feel like a billionaire. Of course, as is works too...but if you never ask, you will never get a chance for yes.
  4. I likely misread one of the updates, reading that the MFD pages were no longer swappable (hence my confusion...sometimes my brain just doesn't keep up). Thank you for the correction. I will give it a try later this afternoon so the guidance is greatly appreciated sir!
  5. I ordered the WinWing Orion and it took about 13 days to get here. I could not be happier since my current desk setup would not support the full Taurus setup. The nice thing is the product is modular (the throttle in particular) so when they cone out with the F-16 throttle handle, it is an in place upgrade, no need to buy an entire new throttle. Also was about $480 with shipping (if I recall correctly). I also have the Warthog and love that too. I had to crawl and babysit the site for it to become available. Within and hour of my purchase, they were out of stock again (same happened with WinWing). You can't really go wrong with any of the high end sticks, they are all very good quality. The only potential harp I can think of is the WinWing is more focused toward the Navy/USMC planes (F/A-18 and Harrier) while the Warthog focuses more more on Air Force planes (A-10 & F-16). That is why I ended getting both in the end. If you are looking for a setup more geared to Russian or others, the more generalized sticks might be better (e.g., Virgil, etc.). But if you are hooked on the American Planes, you will be right at home. Ultimately though, any stick will give you a great experience as you can configure anyhow you like. I just prefer the closest 1:1 I can get. My 2 pennies, hope it helps a little. P.s., I have zero buyer's remorse for either product.
  6. May or may not be applicable to your situation but after a power outage, it is always a good idea to restart your PC due to process interruption. Power surge and outage are a bane to electronics, hence why UPCs are a wise investment, even if it only gives you 5 extra minutes to close out and shut down before power loss. If you live in an area where power spikes/loss occurs even semi-regularly, I would highly advise getting some type of battery backup. If you continue having issues, you may want to verify the install to make sure core files did not get corrupted. Both Steam and standalone installs have a verification process. For DCS, you have to login for DCS to verify the modules you own, standalone and multi-player. Some .02 that may help is all.
  7. @Ziptie Thank you for the response. I fiddled with it for a bit switching MAV on/off, changing to different pages to no avail. Having said that, I will check out the post you mentioned. DEFNITELY understood their plates are full, for sure! Look at all the amazing stuff being put out. Minor pains and/or glitches along the way are expected and surely are not going to detract me from DCS. A lot of tone gets lost in text unfortunately and after re-reading my own post, it could be read as a gripe, far from it! And yes, it is unrealistic to hope anyone is going to spend time going back through old missions to ensure bugs are out, that is a bit of a pipe dream...that was a 'in a perfect world' comment.
  8. Either way, while it shows 0700, I when I assigned the TOT for 1200, if you look at the countdown to reaching the waypoint, the time remaining is consistent between checkpoints. I would say either set the TOT as required and plan based on the countdown, or as mentioned above, figure out the process for changing the timezone so it is consistent (I don't know this process yet so cannot help there). No matter what, it is not a 4+hr drive to the WP. I thought the same myself at first.
  9. I tried to stress, all of those are basically nitpicks, nothing world-ending. And I just picked up VO=voice over...LOL! None of my comments should be construed to mean the voice overs need changing, they are all really good man. I was saying if anything, the text (right side) of the briefing window could be expanded if you felt like it. At the end of the day, that is what Google is for, so we (users) can figure them out rather simply...or post in the forums. Keep on keepin' on mate! Very great work. And I dare say they have been far superior to ED's missions with regard to immersion and how well coordinated the triggers are. Now if we could only get the friendly AI wing and flight members to not be morons and fly themselves into the side of mountains on a clear sky as we roll into an attack! But that is for another post on another day (kidding, there are plenty of those posts already).
  10. Somewhat related (adjacently). For new pilots, the following will be an impact. I tried to fly the A-10C Maverick training mission and after powering up the Maverick EO timer instructions, the tutorial directs you to press OSB 14 on right MFCD to bring up the MAV page; however, due to the lack of swap functionality (MAV is only in left MFCD now), you can no longer progress the training. Granted this is more a mission design update; however, the above mentioned issue has downstream impacts that have not yet been accounted for in some mission development. I would recommend ED update their tutorial missions and callout these type of changes to mission makers as inability to carry out specifically identified tasks will break older missions...and by proxy, the immersion DCS is revered for. It is the unfortunate side effect and impact of open architecture and design...it takes more effort to go back an update old to ensure it works with new; just like with the ArmA series. The flexibility comes at a cost...but man it is so worth it when it is done right!!! Hats off to you ED and all the third party developers! You have created an amazing capability!
  11. @baltic_dragon The voice acting as per usual is great and the briefing material nice and professional. Here are some nit-picking comments that are more for awareness as none are "breaking", just might be helpful if your target is novice pilots, or those unfamiliar with certain terminology. - Briefing material: Typically, you want to define uncommon acronyms on first use. For example, I admit I am not familiar with either BIFF or VO. They are used both in the graphic and the briefing text though spelling out in the briefing text makes more sense (and simpler to update) given the images represent the "official" materials. - Start-up Procedure: (1 - NON CONCERN )) Instructions walk through well, however, many of the switches called out are already in the proper state. Not sure if these can be changed out of default to mimic a RL startup procedure, or if it is best as is. (2) directs to put 'Navigation Lights into the Flash Position' however there are only Anti-Collision Lights and Position Lights for flash position. I may be one of few this throws off but not the end of the world either way (I assume it is referring to Position Lights?). (3) Depending on the random cloud generation, departure and climb to 5000 results in coming out into the clouds, meaning you may miss his calls to look at the I-15 and some other reference points. Recommend moving the base cloud layer just above 5,000 or alternating to a different preset. Alternatively, I was good at 4400 ft. Again, those are nit picks. The only other offer is a way to skip the initial familiarization for those more advanced, as this was a great tutorial, but more seasoned folks may not wish to sit through it. I look forward to what you have coming in tow! Very enjoyable!!!
  12. @baltic_dragon Great timing on this post since I just completed mission 3 today (only owned it for two years, so behind the power curve a little). My only recommendation would be for the more 'touring' familiarization mission to either have a higher cloud cap or make it a light scatter maybe since part of the voice acting is to enjoy the views. I am not sure if that only encompasses the first and third since that is as far as I am, if so disregard. The only real part I ran into difficulty came to the attack in mission 3 where you had to respond after identifying the trouble (avoiding spoiler for others who may read). The cloud cover made a little difficult since you never know if there is a timer that may expire, causing failure of the mission. Also, not sure if it is just AI limitations, but all three of my AI pilots crashed into the mountains as I rolled in for attack...kinda bummer since they don't get to fly home. I must say that combined with the new clouds, it has been a great campaign thus far! Great job to you and your team...unless it is just you, then EXTRA hats off! Very enjoyable and great learning curve to ease into it.
  13. I will give that a shot next mission...now that I know I can change channels!
  14. OH you have to be kidding me ...that simple...isn't it always?! Thanks Leg2ion. One down, two to go.
  15. I found this main post after I already replied in an older but similar bug notice (links below). So there are a few different posts on here that could probably be merged, or at least the others closed out for housekeeping and to reduce confusion of others trying to find an answer to this ongoing issue. It is a bummer this is an ongoing issue as of 2.7.0.51180 Open Beta. Looking through the known issues log, it does not appear to be receiving air time yet, at least publicly. Three main issues at this time (as previous mentioned): #1 - VHF preset tuner scrolls from 1 to 20 when incremented (both fore & aft VHF radios). Sometimes it will allow you to click through one-by-one, but quickly reverts back to scrolling in the next attempt. #2 - If a keyboard or joystick action is assigned, you can only shift between preset 1 and preset 2; even at that, action is buggy and takes multiple attempts. #3 - (MOST IMPORTANT): Cannot define preset channels for VHF radio (both fore & aft VHF radios). On a positive note, great job Eagle Dynamics Team! This is an amazing simulator and it has been a pleasure to watch it grow from the early LOMAC days! Thank you for all of your efforts over the years to bring such an awesome and an 'as close to real as we are going to get' experience as you have!
