  1. You know it bro. Now get cracking. That was one line of code time you wasted! :-)
  2. Stevos...you mean for hosting code like Sketches for Arduino, Python for Raspberry Pi and C# and the like. It's a great idea but rather than create a single one that I would have to maintain it would be better if we just issued a general guideline for folks to post a link to the Github they create for the code. Although I appreciate perhaps not everyone is comfortable with Git so maybe I would have to create these for people. Hmmmm.....it's a sterling idea though.
  3. Dear fellow flyers and cockpit/panel building enthusiasts, TigersharkBAS here. You might remember me from such educational videos as "How to make a Control Panel" and "Why won't my rash go away?" I'm here to talk to about a disease that effects 1 in 3 people who spend too much time on forums. It's called forum-itis. It's symptoms are: Extremely useful information dispersed over multiple pages in a single thread. Threads that were popular being pushed down the stack until the crucial knowledge they contain dissapears on page 243. Forum threads that start with a introductory text explaining a solution only to have said solution improved and/or abandoned for another one 20 pages later. Basically what I'm getting at is, forums are great for discussion and the exchange of ideas. Super crappy for actually retaining the knowledge gleaned from the fine minds here. So Devon Custard (who you may know from his excellent Arduino tutorials) and I (TigersharkBAS) have taken the initiative to start a Wiki dedicated to cockpit making. You can find the URL here: http://www.deadfrogstudios.com/warthogpit BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!!! A wiki lives and dies on the strength of its contributors. I have gotten the ball rolling by already adding some articles and transferring my tutorial over to the wiki. But it needs you guys to contribute to: a) Correct any mistakes you see b) Enrich any of the articles you see c) Add new content!!! <---- very important It is a completely open Wiki. Anyone can create, edit text and modify without having to sign up or go through any complicated login process. It really couldn't be easier. It would be great if when people want to share how to do something, they do it in the Wiki and then link to the wiki in a forum thread. That way people can still use the forums for discussion but keep the knowledge in a well organised wiki. I will be asking the admin to make this thread a sticky. Please feel free to discuss the wiki, ideas and ask for help in this thread. I really hope we can pick this up as a community and run with it. In particular it would be great of someone could expand on this topic for me: http://deadfrogstudios.com/warthogpit/index.php?title=Exporting_DCS_Data It needs some input from someone experienced in Lua and DCS. Tiger out. *salutes*
  4. Joe Kurr....did you release this software yet?
  5. I can't see a link to this. Did you finish it?
  6. As suggested. Start small with the stick thread in this forum. It will teach some basic electronics and your imagination will run wild from there.
  7. Thanks sifhanar. This is what I would have answered. Thanks for helping out.
  8. @Trueno. I will reply in about 12 hours. At work at the moment and not in front of my gaming machine. But the first step is to go into the setting of DCS and program your switches for the Laser Train and Laser Arm Settings. Then I will teach you how to make the "off" setting.
  9. Update on the real time map planning tool we plan incorporate. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=120253
  10. So...update on our proof of concept for map planning. Camel and I have successfully connected our devices from remote locations and were able to draw on a map of Georgia. The screenshot below shows a working prototype of the code. It uses Apple maps to zoom in on Georgia. You can zoom in and out use pinch gestures and can then draw and all parties see in real time the markings of others. There is still some work to be done and we plan to able to add pre made markings and such but at least we have a proven concept. Now to refining it.
  11. The Groovy Game Gear board which some people use in this forum has 32 DirectX inputs. I was wondering....is there way to use a multiplexer to increase this even more? Or am I dreaming here.

  13. If wait a little bit this will be on iPhone as well in the next release.
  14. Thanks for the feedback gents. Just an update. Camel has successfully gotten 2 clients to connect together using Gamecenter and separately the code to draw on a map of Georgia is up and running. Next step is to get a couple of clients connected to draw together. The proof of concept is looking good for our first IAP the "plan on a map" module. Due to Gamecenter it is retricted to 4 players being connected together for the moment.
  15. yawc and DCS CoPilot merging into a new(ish) product.
  16. New announcement regarding the merging of yawc and DCS CoPilot. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=120253
  17. Thanks for the reply. We are committed to keeping the base product for free so you should get everything you got in YAWC (or almost everything) with a little more polish. An example of where we might head with the IAP. The base product would have the caution panel like you have now in YAWC. Press a panel item and you will get a description of the fault/warning. An IAP might add the ability to have the caution panel connected to DCS and automatically pop up descriptions of the lights as they go off in the sim.
  18. For sometime, many of the DCS community with iPads have been enjoying the free app YAWC (Yet Another Warthog Checklist). This app was launched by community member Camel. The app provides users with checklists from the community as well as reference charts and diagrams for emergency procedures, weapons profiles, JTAC handling and many other useful quick references. At the same time, TigersharkBAS began development of the ambitious DCS CoPilot. Designed to connect to the DCS universe in real time it had the goal of reading mission information and presenting it in highly graphical and intuitive ways to enable busy pilots to instantly understand their mission and all the surrounding variables such as weather, radio frequencies, flight composition, etc. It also had the goal of including several reference tools but to have them as interactive and easily updated databases of information rather than static PDF files. We are pleased to announce a partnership between these 2 app developers that intends to merge the best features of both products and unify them into a single look and feel. Our first release will be a re-imagining of the User Interface (UI) for the functionality you currently enjoy in YAWC. In addition, the release will remain free. As you can imagine, quite a bit of work goes into apps like this and whilst we are pleased to offer the basic app for free we are looking to get some reward for our time. To aid in this, we will periodically release several modules offering extra functionality to the app that will be made available via In App Purchase (IAP). Examples of some these modules that will be available for purchase: - Startup trainers for various aircraft. - A module that enables multiple people to make and view graphical "plans of attack" on a map of Georgia. - Dropbox hosted user made checklists As well as many others we are investigating and doing proof of concepts for. The app will be a universal app with support for iPad and iPhone. For the moment we are looking for expressions of interest to how commercially viable this is for us. It will require a lot of work (the artwork alone takes many man hours) and we are hoping the IAP model strikes a balance for free and paying customers. We have analysed the install base of YAWC but the number of initial installs is different than the currently active user base. Please use this thread to give your impressions, thoughts, questions and feedback. We really need to get an indication if this is worth our time so please indicate if you are supporter/potential customer.
  19. Cheers gents. Installing now.
  20. Thanks for the reply guys. Are you sure it doesn't require CD activation? There were 2 versions floating around. A cheaper upgrade version (mine) and the now full price module (no CD activation required).
  21. Hi there, I bought the FC3 module for DCS a while back when I had an older computer. I own the original FC3 CD. Since then, I have upgraded my PC and the new MOBO I bought came without IDE support for a CD drive. I have a CD drive sitting in my tower that does nothing. Reinstalled DCS, thought about firing up FC3 and boom...it hit me :-( No CD, no FC3 verification to play the FC3 module. What are my options? Any ideas anyone?
  22. He should just open source it. I'd be happy to compile it and release it for free like the original.
  23. Are the LED's shaped like regular ones or do they have flat tops?
