  1. Personally thinking about upgrading my old Rift CV1 Thought about the quest 2 or Pico4, but I have no real desire or need for a standalone headset. I know both can be tethered, but this is via USB, and I simply prefer a HDMI/DP signal. Another possible problem is that the CV1 has the lenses set at its widest for my IPD, so at 72mm, that probably kills about all the recent Oculus/Meta offerings
  2. Hi all, setting up my Virpil throttle and Stick and VKB SEM for the F-14. (also have 2 TM MFD's, but those will come later.) I basically kept the throttle handles true (as possible) to the IR nullL layout taken from the Heat blur Manual. Whether all those functions are useful I don't know, but most of them seem to do something positive . (Got a Hat and 1 button free there, for maybe some Targeting and other Jester cmds, though I have Voice Attack as well.) But I certainly could use some pointers on the (changing) state of other buttons. This is the current state of affairs: Grey plates are buttons/axes not under a Shift state (S0). The 5-Way Mode Dial is used to shift B1-B8 and T4-T6 and the Mode Dial also acts as 5 physical buttons, and assigned so they also change the Displays Control Panel Mode switches. White = (Shift State) S1 / Take Off. *and general layout of Basic (Grey) controls (S0). Yellow = S2 / Cruise *I figure I could put some Waypoint editing commands here, but I guess I can use 1 of the MFD's for that. I have one actually physically located behind my stick. Green = Air to Air / SS3 Blue = Air to Ground / SS4 (Currently focusing on A2A so no buttons assigned yet) Purple = Landing / SS5 *Yeah, this shouldn't be empty Now I'm guessing some commands can be moved/duplicated here (Autopilot VDI/HSD data functions for ILS/ACLS landing spring to mind) But having a hard time wrapping my mind around the protocols/functions/controls surrounding the landing procedure Trying to do a carrier landing in VR, while following a YT video is,... challenging Here's where I can use the most helpnull And lastly there's the VKB SEM (Situated behind my throttle, so it's somewhat true in location of controls) * the 4-way rotary can switch 2 modifiers, but have no use for that yet
  3. Hi there, new player to DCS. Started loooooong ago on a 286 with a pirated copy of MicroProse's F15 Strike Eagle 2, figuring out what function every key on the keyboard was. Followed up with (legal copies) F-117A and Gunship 2000 and forays in some other titles kept me busy for a number of years, until other hobbies and adulthood put that on hold. Few decades later, advances in technology, other hobbies having diminished, bit of a midlife (already had a motorcycle for years, so couldn't go for that ), figured I'd relive a little of my childhood, bought a 2nd hand Logitech G940, got IL-2 Cliffs of dover, and things went from there, to this point, where I acquired DCS earlier this year. Jumped on the 50% starter deal, and got a few extra modules along the way Luckily don't need much Spitfire training, because of Cliffs of Dover, but the F-14 is daunting (certainly far beyond the old F15 and a blank keyboard), and I haven't dared the A10 yet (apart from blowing the canopy off ) Right now, I'm focusing on the Tomcat, getting it in the air and flying around, I kinda got the hang of, now just the combat and (carrier)landing part
