Shame. Browsing through the WW customer support I came across this: Title Do we separately sell products not on sale? Product Descrip Dear customer: for those products not on sale(e.g. PSU), we won’t plan to sell them separately. Sorry for all the inconvenience. ...but then why the addition of the mounting points on the Orion 2? (As is, they're now only a nuisance for mounting with zero added value)

cheapest 4080 starts at €1150 here, compared to the cheapest 7900 XTX being €980 Better RT and DLSS and faster memory vs 8g more memory, bigger memory bandwidth ...But I'm running VR so the 4080 doesn't really win on the RT/DLSS, then better be a whole lot better in raw performance

Hydraulic rudder pedal damper vs resistance based damper
Nightdare replied to ChrisIhao's topic in Input Devices
@ChrisIhao Compared to a friction damper, which always applies the same pressure (disregarding wear/temperature), a fluid damper of the type used by Virpil allows a much more 'free' movement, and will only start working beyond a certain threshold (In practice, there can often still be a bit of friction, dependent on how strong you want to set the damping) This shows the working principle: Fluid dampers are much less prone to wear (and thereby work more consistently) and function less intrusively, the variable types are also better to finetune All in all, bar some exceptions/applications, they are superior to mechanical dampers (Which is why you hardly see the latter) -
Looking at the rest of the competitors,.. it doesn't take much to undercut the TM TPR rudder
-
Be careful, YT sluggish behavior was in my case because of my AdBlocker
-
Don't have my hands on it yet But I wouldn't mind getting rid of the oscillation of the pedals, especially when applying uneven braking
-
That's a long way from the $999 MSRP it's presented it with
-
Did you calibrate the axes?
-
@Job There are a few cases known where the anchorplate of the grip has cracked as the fingerlifts themselves are made of the same plastic, I don't know if upping the required power to operate them wil be beneficial
-
@Hiob I don't think it'd be a good idea to put more stress on the fingerlifts with stronger springs
-
Just brainfarting here You could fill it with epoxy and then filing a slot, so it has a more abrupt slope?

We'll see in the next few months, luckily I have my vacation allowance in may I have been using Nvidia since forever, but I'm not a fanboy The whole Nvidia 408/70 and 3/4060 debacle left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and since 4090's will never be in my budget, the 7900XTX seems like a good contender for the 4080 ...depending on what the supers will do price/performance
-
Would be wasted potential if we didn't, the F16 grip doesn't even use that mounting point

The Taurus was already a hefty sum, I think it might actually be considered a sales succes, but that'd be if WW marketing dept. didn't have a large market in mind from the start (it certainly got them noticed) I'd figure added motorized throttles are gonna push a price ,that it would sell in such small numbers that it sooner be considered a prestige product Boutique builders can get away with low volumes/high prices, I doubt WW can and remain operational I for one found out too late about the taurus, or I probably would've gotten one, but a V2 as hinted in the teaser will probably become too rich for my blood to just fork out on a throttle

The good news will be, that at a certain point, one can get no better fidelity than "lifelike" Once visuals are equal to real life, there is no performance gain to chase Whether we'll see that moment come to pass during our lifetime? .....Maybe (Not with my lifestyle though ) Just think back 30 years ago to the state of computer technology: Now imagine 30 years into the future
-
For VR, low resolution, when trying to identify targets, most certainly impacts warbirds the most, there is no radar to aid you, and you need to get close just to make sure you're not lining up your sights on an ally
-
With the Taurus retired, and it's follow up not visible on the horizon yet, the Orion2 having the mounting possibility Wouldn't it be an idea for WW to offer the PSU for Orion users? AFAIK, it was never offered separately, but they have the molds, and most parts are standard available items ...they might even be able to offer a bracket to allow use with Orion 1 versions (If it had been sold separately at the time the Taurus was available, I certainly would have gotten one to jury-rig into my non-WW setup)
-
Even if I'd want to upgrade my headset, better VR gear would require better hardware, so I'd first have to upgrade the GPU and with that probably the PSU as well
-
Ah, misread, I thought you needed a flip cover Since I've seen a few WinWing Products with hot glue, simply to prevent user serviceability, it wouldn't surprise me if they glued the pcb to the cover

AV8 3d printed nozzle lever for warthog throttle
Nightdare replied to FoxDelta's topic in Home Cockpits
It would be cool if this was available for the Wingwing Orion 2 Where the 'stop' was actuating the lower lever and thereby blocking the upper lever from traveling backwards -
Thank you, I totally glossed over the Orion V1 manual I am, my old Virpil sticks out 15mm in front of the base footprint and that's without my fingers wrapping around the grip, which needs about 25mm extra to manipulate the buttons when fully forward The Orion seems to have it's levers mounted further back on the base, keeping the (F-18) levers within the base's footprint
-
I certainly hope to get a few more years out of my G2
-
I found the Taurus stroke front to back for the levers is 242mm, my old Virpil Mongoose V1 is 140mm But the only thing I can find on the Orion is that is has 80 degrees of travel Anybody has the range?
