While razorback P-47s made up the bulk of the Thunderbolt fleet in mid-1944, the bubbletop was in theatre for June 6 and the greater Normandy campaign. The first image is Lt. Robert Coffey's plane, "Coffey's Pot", in full invasion stripes. Shot down July 11 but the pilot survived. The second image is of P-47s assembling on June 6, with a small number of bubbletop Thunderbolts in the group. Of course, we have the D-30 and D-40 variants instead of the D-25, so it's a moot point I suppose.

Plus there's no way to tell the AI to use 21 Right or 21 Left as far as I know, it only uses one. With the new many-runwayed airbases in Sinai, it's badly needed.

I'm not surprised lol, thanks for bringing the earlier thread to light. -

The stores display for the A-10A lists rockets as ECM, ECM pods as DISP, AGM-65s as FLARE, and SUU-25 flare pods as LDGP (low-drag bombs). -
Currently, the AH-64 can carry the M274 Target Practice Smoke round, either by itself or in conjunction with HE rockets. This round currently emits a small puff of smoke and then quickly disperses in a couple seconds. While it can be useful in training, the mixed HE-smoke loadout suggests it is carried on the battlefield as well, which the M274 is unsuitable for. If it is meant for marking targets with smoke, the much more suitable option is the M156 WP round carried by the A-10, F-16, etc. which burns for a minute or so per rocket. If this warhead choice is intentional, then there is no issue, but seeing as I couldn't find it mentioned before, I figured it ought to be brought up.

DCS World 2023 Screenshots and Video Thread

Made a fictional newsreel for the Mirage F1! -
I'd love to see this effect as well, but it would require a big change to the ground vehicle damage model (which I also heavily wish they would do). Things like open-topped M-10 TDs with exposed crews being unable to be knocked out by machine-gun fire take away a lot of the immersion.

Current behavior in-game: the AN-M64 bombs used by the F-86F in-game are apparently different from the AN-M64s used on the P-51 and P-47, and cannot accept custom fuzes the way the same bombs carried by those aircraft can. It also features the older weapon image on the loadout panel, further suggesting it is coded as a different weapon. Expected Behavior: the in-game bomb should be the same as that used on the P-51 and P-47.

Do you like WW2-Cold War planes, but don't feel that those eras themselves are right for you? Do you like unconventional tactics and missions which require you to fly your plane to its best ability in order to succeed against technologically superior foes? Do you want to be a part of a hodgepodge third world air force that uses hand-me-down aircraft like Syrian MiGs, Swedish Viggens, Israeli Skyhawks, American P-51s and Iraqi Mirage F1s simply because we can't afford anything better? Then join the 2nd Euphratic Brigade! Euphratic... Brigade?... What's that? Lore time! Founded with the express goal of having a REDFOR squadron for the Syria map, the 2nd Euphratic Brigade is based around Tabqa airfield, right on the river Euphrates, in an alternate universe, as a militia air force flying a variety of airframes in service to a democratic Syrian commonwealth. Our little slice of the country initially started out with nothing but the worst, flying P-51s and Avia S-199s because all we were tasked with was fighting the odd ambush by insurgents. Soon, though, a coup against the Lebanese government resulted in a dictatorship intent on conquering lost lands, rapidly rebuilding its naval, land and air forces to achieve this before waging a strong regional war. Our group fought through this bitter and brutal conflict for a while, with our faction only recently emerging the victor due to an unexpected American intervention. We've since returned to peacetime conditions, and are in a good spot to welcome new members! End of Lore Time! Want to fly missions as varied as counterinsurgency against a resurgent terrorist threat, to reconnaissance of a POW camp to rescue friendly prisoners, to providing protection to world leaders engaging in peace talks in Aleppo, to blind bombing attacks against a fleet in port battened down due to a brutal storm Whether facing down a junta or rescuing downed pilots, we fly it all! The important stuff, in a condensed list We fly on Syria! While we have the occasional excursion to other regions, we generally stick to the Syria map. We are canonically a militia air force, and have no ranks or skill requirements! If you're new to the game or a particular plane, that's honestly worth bonus points. We each have our own custom skins, with custom camos and nose art spanning shark teeth to catgirl ears. We are casual and like using our planes in novel ways! We lean towards engaging and unique missions, and pride ourselves on creative uses of aircraft- using a Mirage 2000 as flight lead to tell the F-5s and MiG-15s in the flight when to drop their bombs on target, for example. For another case, we have a single ex-Iranian Tomcat but no Phoenix missiles, so we sometimes use it as an AWACS or our one TPOD-capable aircraft on those extra-special strike missions. We democratically choose when to fly! We try to include everyone in scheduling, and often change the schedule to accommodate as many people as possible. Currently we meet on Thursday evenings, but if that doesn't work for you, feel free to ask for a change! We are LGBT-friendly and explicitly work towards being a safe space for all to fly! One can't expect an unpaved runway to be as smooth as a paved one, and the runways of Sayqal East surely have bumps, dips in terrain and deformations. However, the terrain resolution for that section of the map is causing what might be a gentle depression IRL to be a sharp 20 degree slant downwards followed by a sharp 20 degree slant upwards, which often destroys landing gear and renders the runways difficult to use. This is especially noticeable on runway 10R (example image attached). It seems to be unused IRL, but as it's the only dirt airfield in the map, and was given a special high-resolution makeover by the dev team, it would be enjoyable to see the issue fixed.
