Awesome job thanks for fixing the Train height problem and the wheels Animations - Great Work Team thankyou. I only realised when i tried a test run of a new Locomotive that was set to correct height on Normandy 2. Interesting you can see how much the track data base has been lowered see the picture 47357 was on track surface before update and is a simple adjustment. So Great news the DCS Trains i have tested on Normandy 2 - Caucasas and Persian Gulf are all now running on the rails at the correct height . Also i can now run my Locos and rollling stock with the DCS ones as they are now the same height. The green Locomotive has her first run in DCS - I am building her in blender a Lord Nelson Class " 957 Lord Howe "

Hi i reported a couple of issues today with trains not deactivating correctly also not being destroyed correctly by destroy group and destroy unit . Train Problems ! Here we go again ! Same old ignored problems ! Once again i request - Please fix the user placed Trains Activation and Deactivation. We can then operate the Trains ourselves. " There is a huge untapped Market for DCS if the core trains are fixed theres millions of Train Simulator Users who would be drawn to DCS " The wheels have been fixed in April update and now have arg8 enabled so valve gear etc can be animated again so thats a huge improvement thankyou. I usually get told by people with their own agenda Trains are not a High Priority keep my mouth shut. Just fix them already because this HAS got so SAD and destroying any hope of realism its been going on for years and years . Turning the Traffic option on is creating a useless simulation of Train Movements as seen here. The Train Activation problem - causes Trains to ignore all advanced waypoint actions and continue forward and reverse between waypoints for ever and so not controllable . The Train Deactivation problem - Trains cannot be removed from game and if Deactivated go off the track and continue for ever even in the sky or out to sea ! If theres no fix take the steel wheels off fit tyres and drive the locomotives on DCS roads go where you want stop start etc !

Hi no its not normal but thats what DCS trains do. I am Preparing a series of test missions to highlight the problems with trains as i do every year hoping the problems gets fixed. The Problem is Reported and i Hope it gets fixed and an update issued soon thanks. At present do not use late Activation or Deactivation for trains both are faulty . Late Activation will ignore any advanced waypoints you set and will not be invisable before Activation. Deactivation will result in train leaving tracks splitting up and continue on to Mars no one has lived long enough to find out if this is true or not ! SO DO THIS - " This is the Only realistic reliable way i have created to use a DCS train at present " If anyone has proceedures they use for trains please share your ideas 1. When you place train on track add wagons set advanced waypoint action for that waypoint to hold and tick DUR checkbox and set as many seconds you want to keep train stationary. 2. At next waypoint maybe at a station set advanced waypoint action for that waypoint to hold and tick DUR checkbox and set as many seconds you want to keep train waiting there. ( Repeat this step for all stations or stops needed. 3. At last waypoint set advanced waypoint action for that waypoint to hold do not tick DUR checkbox or set any seconds and the train will remain there for ever. If you dont do this last hold step train will go backwards and continue for ever in DCS bonkers backwards forwards mode. Please take a minute to study and try out my attached mission file it uses all default DCS stuff no mods. Note you can ctrl c the train and ctrl v the train to create more with same setup waypoints just change the initial hold time for each. Now what you have been waiting for - the exciting mission - you are the vehicle look left - train waits 10 sec- train starts and holds in front of you 10 sec - train starts and stops at final waypoint and holds for ever - have fun ! Hold at start 10sec-Hold halfway 10sec-Hold forever at Last.miz

just check you are pressing Left Ctrl and F12 and not Right Ctrl and F12 You can also press F10 map view and click on any train you want to follow then Left Ctrl and F12

Thankyou Slippa for taking the baby helicopter out for a reconnaissance flight. Awesome job. Very nice Engine shed hey - It looks real and just like the Depot is locked up for this Easter Weekend ! You will have fun now you found out about that screenshots folder. Keep your eyes peeled and your finger on the screenshots hotkey for more interesting Railway Buildings. Yes im sure Ugra will look at a WW2 Version and it will be great - Hey buildings like this are already built. thankyou

It works ok on mine see picture maybe theres a mod or something in your DCS it conflicts with or maybe the mouse polling rate is too sensitive (high) or something like that.

WOW THANKYOU HuNterOO ! Awesome reconnaissance well done ! Fantastic pictures what a fantastic Railway Roundhouse and Turntable ! The railways on this map are just great. Who knows what else is waiting to be explored on the new map ! THANKYOU HuNterOO for going above and beyond for me ! I have some Steam Locomotives i have been working on for DCS Normandy 2 and they will certainly look great at this roundhouse and in service on this Map. More info soon. Awesome job mate that was a 10 out of 10 real DCS reconnaissance flight to get me those awesome pictures ! thanks

Thanks Harry.R Very Interesting nice find that Zoomed in on google maps to be a roundhouse and maybe the one or maybe its another one. The turntable looks very short and the Diesels wont fit so only the road where that one is in shed is available. Maybe this was a wagon loading depot. It will be realy nice to see the one in DCS closeup. thankyou

Forget about Google - I Simply would like a couple of closeup screenshots of the roundhouse with the green arrow pointed at it. The picture is Frankfurt on the Germany map in DCS.

I tried google earth and maps its not there only a diesel electric depot - this DCS map is early 1980`s also tried google earth with the time set back 1980 and the 1945 map its not in range of map. That wont help as i want to see what is on this German DCS Map.

Nice Videos and Pictures im sure this will be a popular thread. - I build Steam locomotive Mods for DCS I dont own the Map yet however I have a request. - I am very interested in what i think is a Railway Round House and Turntable just outside Main Frankfurt. - Could one of you kind Helicopter Pilots take a bird up and snap me a few closeup shots or video around the site. Fantastic News the German Class86 Steam Locomotive (Included in the DCS: World War II Assets Pack) Can now be used in all its Glory with animated wheels smoke and valve gear on the new Germany Map. This will please a lot of users im sure A Huge - Thankyou for getting the Trains Wheels Animation arg8 working. All of the Steam Locomotives i have built are now brought to life and Animate perfectly see pic and small video of my 2-8-0-0-8-2 Garret garret.flv

Just a constructive thought - 205 GB Size - The time has come when these huge Map Downloads should be available to purchase mail order on USB Stick or a SSD . Im sure a bulk buy price for ssd or usb sticks from a manufacturer could be sorted out for this alternative sales method. Im sure a lot of users would welcome the option to hook up the mail order drive and install Maps from there. Users with very slow internet will be very reluctant to commit to these huge downloads. Just an idea.

2395 also worked the 1 in 37 Lickey Incline at Bromsgrove for a while also as number 69999. LMS Bayer Garrets 2-6-0-0-6-2 see pic were used around London on heavy coal trains so a quick remodel and wheel set adjustment new Livery and its cool for that. Important thing is i now have animated Walschaerts valve gear in DCS so many Locos can be produced easily from the armature. This is my 4MT Loco Valve Gear setup low poly wheels have hand drawn height map theres no spokes just flat disks .

Fantastic News at last Thankyou - I have some Awesome Steam Locomotives i have been working on thankfully i never gave up hope DCS would fix the wheels. I have even built the biggest Locomotive ever used in Britain - Its made of 2 Locomotives in DCS a Front and a Rear its a Spectacular 2-8-0-0-8-2 Bayer Garret - Very simple low poly design no bevels - details produced using normal map (normal map not applied in these pics yet) and textures are from real photographs and work nicely. The Bayer Garret is for the Normandy 2 Map ! Also a very nice 0-6-0 Sugar Mill Locomotive for the upcoming Marianas WW2 Map ! All my locomotives have working animated valve gear so with the wheels update will look fantastic in DCS. More info soon !

Hey - Frankfurt has heaps of Railways and an old Railway Depot with turntable and Roundhouse at last somewhere to house my German Steam Locomotive Mods Highly appreciated thankyou Ugra Media team ! Heres my wallet just take what you need and leave me enough for a new SSD. This map just keeps giving !

Very nice to see the trains and railway network importance recognised and included in such detail. Fantastic Map - Well a German Steam Train Special hauled by Double Headed DCS Class 86 wont look out of place then ! I am all set for 1st day release ! It will be standing room only judging by the interest in this Fantastic Map may even need a few relief trains. When we find Hitlers Gold Train i hope the Fehmarnsundbrücke bridge will support it !

Hi i was playing around with these settings i found on the forum a while back you may find them useful for the detection check out the pics have fun ! They do work ok. a) This trigger detects the moment when both left and right main wheels are compressed at touch down. The trigger zone assures me that it happens only on the carrier: b) This next trigger is the same, but also detects if the aircraft is at rest on the deck: three wheels compressed and speed less than 60 (to account for the carrier + wind speed) -
