Thanks. Mystery solved. Now that I know what to search for in ED's F/A-18 Manual, I found just this on page 81... "Before we discuss common F/A-18C procedures, let’s review some of the more important DDI and MPCD pages you’ll use. There are two primary pages in which all other pages are selected from: The Support (SUPT) page and the Tactical (TAC) page. You can toggle between these pages, or return to them, by pressing the pushbutton marked MENU. When airborne, the MENU pushbutton converts to a timer, but still acts as a MENU button." Well next time my niece is over and asking some many questions about everything on the F/A-18 cockpit displays, I'll be a little smarter Thanks again.

What is this number at the bottom on the many menus in DDIs and AMPCD? I know it something simple but I can't find the answer searching in Chuck's Guide or ED's F/A-18 Manual...

Hi. I am no way any close to be an expert on WW MIPs, but did eventually get mine set up. I followed MustangSally's MIP Setup videos exactly - awesome help. I noticed you have "wwtMonitor" selected instead of "winwing" and also running a wwtMonitor lua script. I have a Samsung display and three WW MIPs, and no need to run any lua scripts for them. If I understand his Part 3 video, your wwtMonitor lua may be in conflict with the WW program DCS is trying to run at the same time... Part 3 https://youtu.be/kOxbPIa9Ilo

Ulanzi Stream Deck D200 Causes Screen Jitter
PacFlyer23 replied to PacFlyer23's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Update: I had noticed that while there were apparently no post/info on the site about Ulanzi stream controller, there are for the Stream Deck from Elgato and they seemed positive. So I bought one - 15 button version - and just hooked it up. A bit on the pricy side, but is working great with my keyboard Function Keys and not software conflict jitters. I definitely like having the comm function keys right at my finger tip. -
I've been searching for a small plug & play ubs type keypad for just the 12 Function Keys - for use with the Comm Menu. I found a stream deck from Ulanzi - 14 buttons - D200 that wasn't too expensive. Got it to delivered and hooked it, downloaded the Ulanzi software app to program it and seemed to work great. However once in DCS missions, I began to notice an intermittent screen jitter when in the aircraft cockpit view. Unplugged the Ulanzi and still got the jitter. Then uninstalled the Ulanzi app, and DCS was back to normal. Strange how conflicts can be caused by what seen to be unrelated things. I'll be sending the Ulanzi back and still looking for a Function Key keypad solution.

Countermeasures dispenses all chaff flares
PacFlyer23 replied to chuckd's topic in Bugs and Problems
I just noticed that after the last update of 19 June, the default CW program is no longer Program 6 but is back to Program 5 (along with its 2x F and C with 20 repeats). -
ReShade on Two Different Settings
PacFlyer23 replied to keisentraut's topic in Multi-Display Support
I'm doing the same thing using a UIMask, but have it a the bottom of the effects list. All the ReShade effects that are above the UIMask are working on my main screen.- 1 reply

The wining MFDs connection problem.
PacFlyer23 replied to Thomas0086's topic in Multi-Display Support
I made a similar change and initially had problems with it - showing up in landscape every time I restarted my PC. It was pointed out in the Winwing subforum that the three MFD usb cables need to be plugged in next to each other in the powered usb hub. This fixed the problem. -
Countermeasures dispenses all chaff flares
PacFlyer23 replied to chuckd's topic in Bugs and Problems
I don't know if this is related, but I was also having an issue with the CW programming and dispensing all of my CMs. I even spent the last evening watching online YT tutorials. All said that the dispenser switch forward while in the On position will activate Program 5 (1C/1F 2x and 1 sec)... I even set Program 5 to zero C and F, and hitting the switch forward still dispensed my CMs... turns out there are now 6 programs (not 5) and the switch forward activates Program 6 and not 5. The default for 6 is set to 2 each of F and C, and also 20 repeats at 0.75 sec, and explains why I was burning through my CMs. -
It's probably somewhere already on the Forum, but I was having a problem saving my TrackIR profile changes - specifically the Motion Control slider, as well as linking the profile to DCS in the games pulldown window. Searching online I found the solution was to just run TrackIR as Program Administrator (right click when starting it), then make the changes and save.

I've been away from DCS for a month dealing with my PC issue and eventually getting a new setup. I started last couple of days doing refresher training on the F/A-18 and did one on the JHMCS - immediately noticed it was blurry and not sharply focused. Definitely not the same look as it was a month ago and is a new issue after recent updates.
-
Update: Well thanks to everyone for trying to help me with this issue. I ended up pulling the GPU (4070 Super) and sending it to Gigabyte to check. They reported back it was fine, and advised the sort of problem I was seeing could be due to issues with the MB or Power Supply. A little backstory is had replace the PC's original 4070 with a 4070 Super over a year ago - and I just have to wonder if the tech that did the install hooked it up wrong. So I just decided to punt and get a whole new system. It arrived two weeks ago and I've been getting it up and running. I went with a little more higher end PC setup - AMD 9800X3D and NV 5070 Ti, with 64GB. I'm not a PC person, but it hasn't been too challenging. I have been surprised by the amount of "muscle" memory on flying the F/A-18 that I've lost in a month of downtime... like remembering that the TP laser needs to be reset after each LGB drop... did a 90 minute training mission last night and I have no idea where that second GBU-12 ended up

Wow... That Did It. Definitely not an intuitive solution, but it worked. Thank You!!

Could you clarify this a bit. I currently have a Sabrent 10 Port USB 3.0 Hub (60W) with this order 1 - (R)MFD1 2 - (R)DDI 3 - (C)DDI 4 - (C)MFD1 5 - (L)DDI 6 - (L)MFD1 7 -open 8 - open 9 - PTO2 10 - UFC/HUD What is your recommended order? I've also seen some post online that it's an issue with AMD and its boot up overriding Windows 11 settings.

Hi all. Well I've been missing in action the past month dealing with a horrible drop in FPS from 90 to 5-6. I got lots of sound advise and suggestions here, but no joy on a solution. I even pulled my Nvidia 4070 Super and sent to Gigabyte to have them check it. They found it was fine, and thought my PC might have a Motherboard or Power Supply issue. So I just decided to punt and got a new PC (AMD 9800x3d and NV 5070 Ti), which arrived last week. I've been swapping over to it and thought today was the day. I got my Thrustmaster HOTAS and DCS software installed, the WinWing PTO2 and UFC/HD hooked up, DisplayLink , Reshade, and SImAppPro installed, and finally the three MIPs. Everything seemed to eventually work, but the displays are not saving their settings. I go into WIndows 11 and set the WW displays to under the main display and in portrait orientation, then into SimAppPro to configure. Start DCS and they work correctly. Exit DCS, and shutdown my PC... restart... and its back to the incorrect displays and layout - Landscape and not recognized in SimAppPro. My old PC would keep the WW MIP setup after being shutdown. Now every time I start up my PC I have to go into Windows 11 Display settings and then SimAppPro to configure them. Thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

Okay, I took screen shots of both Task Manager and Resource Manager. I wonder if this is why ED wants me to delete the game and reinstall it...
-
I had been using Process Lasso, but stopped a few weeks ago and uninstalled it from my computer. Could it have left some residual settings in place? I do have ParkControl, attached is a current screen shot of it.

Awesome. Thanks for running my log in the analyzer. How do I rollback to the earlier NVIDIA driver, just reinstall it over the current one I have which is 572.83.
-
Well no joy... I installed the 64 GB RAM, renamed the DCS folder in Saved Games, ran the full repair from the launcher, kept just 1 display hooked up via usb. Started DCS and went into instant action to try a free flight... still got just 7 FPS, which is unplayable compared to the 90 FPS I was getting before this all began. dcs.log

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and explanations of things. I will try the renaming of the Saved Games folder before trying reinstall of the whole game. I am not using the Steam version. However first I'm going to add more RAM. I currently have 32 GB of RAM, but it's 4 x 8 GB sticks (DDR4). Last week I noticed when seeing some stutters and checking % memory usage I was at 60% doing a simple free flight in the F/A-18, and when I did a treetop level river run it when to 70% of RAM. So I bought some additional RAM in the form of two 32 GB sticks for 64 GB total that arrived today. I'll swap out my current 32 GB sticks for this replacement 64 GB, then hook every thing back up (WW MIPs), rename the Saved Game folder, and see if this fixes it. If not, I'll try the full repair option... and as a last resort the delete the game folder and full new reinstall that ED suggested. dcs.log

Thanks. So now what are my first steps to reinstall DCS?
-
They said "Please try reinstalling the game." So I am trying to understand how to do that with minimal loss of things. I did use Park Control - their suggestion - to turn parking off for my cores, and no improvement.

This week DCS suddenly became unplayable for me as the FPS dropped from 90 (capped in game) to 9 or less. Basically frozen at the start of any mission or instant action, to the point to exit the forozen game I have to do a hard pc reset to restart my pc. I've been working with ED tech support and they've had me try everything from unplugging other displays (Winwing) and go to a single display, changes in BIOS setting (disabling parking, intel Hyper-threading, RAM boost), turn off Reshade, and all low graphic settings in game. Nothing has worked. They now want me to do a reinstall. I've never done a reinstall (did do a repair this week but that didn't fix anything), and not sure how to reinstall DCS. I know I can delete folders and DCS files, but I'm afraid if I don't do it right I'll lose everything. Is there a way to reinstall so I won't lose all my saved game data and aircrafts (purchased modules and profile/HOTA bindings and setups)? I'm not a pc/computer person, so I really need basic simple step by step instructions.

I implemented this solution a few weeks ago and it works great. I do wish he's slow down a bit and actually explain why the things he's doing work, not just what to do. I watched the video a dozen times to make sure I was doing exactly what he directed. There were a couple of times I could have used more of an explanation. For example, I used GIMP just like he was using, but in the video he had already opened a new file in it. When I started GIMP and opened a new file it had some default settings that I wasn't sure if they were important - such as dimension of the file which was at 1920 x 1080. I noticed in the video that his file had in its header on top 11520 x 3184, same as the screenshot file he'd made. So I set my new file to same as my screenshot file dimension - 3840 x 2160. Not sure if I needed to do this but when I dragged my screenshot into GIMP it matched the new file exactly and dropped right into it. Not sure how UIMask works in Reshade to do its magic with the brightness of my three DDIs, but it does.
