@Bublik: Question to TCP_Bot
33 309th_Hedgehog replied to 33 309th_Hedgehog's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Same behaviour: does not work. Again the question: should I see anything in the TCP_Bot window? Yes: I replaced the file with that of your 'distribution'. Ok. I set that value to empty quotes. Why? When I'm sitting in front of my server (no client connected), I see the cockpit of plane no 6 (in your example mission). That plane should follow the flight plan? Here I do not have to consider any firewall stuff. Or did I misunderstood anything totally? btw. thank you very much for your immediately response! -
I tried yesterday your tool for training purposes but it does not work. What I did: - installed your export.lua & config.lua - started TCP_Bot - started LockOn - started Network server with your example mission - choosed Plane no. 6 result: the plane flies straight ahead and looses altitude and crashes into ground... there are no messages in the command window of the TCP_Bot - is that correct? Any suggestion what goes wrong? Tried on 2 different systems: same result. Hmmmm. Any newer version available? Thanks and greets Hedge

Thank You for response. I mean any sign which will show me where I find taxiway "B" for example would be helpful. -
Video how to - @Ironhand and others
33 309th_Hedgehog replied to 33 309th_Hedgehog's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Thank You for hints. Hmmm... 'till now I'm using no tools... I use the "Record as AVI" function in LockOn itself. Tried serverals codecs and setting but all are the same rubbish. And because it uses nearly 4 hours for one recording (with rubbish results) therefore I ask here the experts. zaelu: do I understand you right, that I HAVE TO use fraps (or similar tool)? and: the text IS readable, but half of the text is missing... But: what use of a trainings video, if the instructions are missing. Only in Ironhands commented videos you could ignore the text. But in all others the learning effect will be null if you don't have some explanations. -
I try to generate videos for all FC1.1 Trainings Missions. The result is rubbish. 1. The textual instructions (upper right corner) sre always missing the following part (when there are more "pages" of text). 2. Instruments/ HUD are not readable 3. Sound is missing (only some noise is generated) What settings should I use, when I create an AVI video? Does LockOn do all the job or are there other tools needed (I mean NEEDED, not helpful)? Thanks for help.

What's the detail of that vehicles for? Other than eating processor capacity? I never have such a close look to targets when I fly missions!!! And really: I'm not interested in. Why do they spend their developers capacity to that uninteresting arcade features (my opinion)? I would really more like: more realistic runways/ airports with runway signs, correct aircraft iluminations (strobe, NAV lights), ILS on every runway and so on. Why should I spend money for nicer tanks? -
Network compatibility : LO+FC+BS / LO+BS
33 309th_Hedgehog replied to Azrayen's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The discussion seems like reading the bottom of your Coffe Pot (german saying). What SHOULD be? 1. FC is (beside "technical improvement" & error fixing) a SU-25T AddOn. 2. BS is (beside further "technical improvement" & error fixing) a Ka-50 AddOn. 3. ED should deliver a FC patch so that there will FC have "technical" the same status like BS and so they will be compatible. If you don't have one of the AddOns, you cannot fly that specific machine. (I do not know, how it in Multiplayer works? What happens in MS FlightSim when someone have an AddOn?) This implies: if it would be technically possible, so they would principally be able to deliver a patch so that LockOn itself could be compatible to either FC and/ or BS... They didn't do that: for technical or political reasons? If they will not make FC and BS compatible to each other this politics wll be the death of that peace of software: newcomers will have to buy LockOn, FC, BS and...? You can forget that. btw: I ordered yesterday Falcon 4... -

Fighter Ops Argument
33 309th_Hedgehog replied to sumoscouse's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Guys: where is the problem? There is an official FO forum for which you don't have to pay. There is an other forum where you can see a bit over the developers shoulder during that process of development. For this you have to pay. If you don't want: lots of information comes some weeks later to the official forum. So again: where's the prob? For me it is sexy to get in touch with the game developers and see the ongoing progress of a new simulator up from the scratch (even if I'm at the moment not sure if we ever see that product...). But for me it's ok to support them with some money. But you don't have to. -

Hey, if anyone is able to view some LOMAC status at the keyboard display: PLEASE WRITE HERE. (I'm wondering how it works?) But anyway it's really cool: 18 more function keys... -
Something no flightsim ever has
33 309th_Hedgehog replied to 3Sqn_Sven's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Disagree with you, Thomas. The AddOn you mean does only switch the NAV Lights on and off which is wrong: NAV lights are steady on, strobe lights are flashing. The mentioned add on give you just a kind of feeling that there should something blink (because there are no strobe lights) ;) -
Finally, a New Tutorial
33 309th_Hedgehog replied to Ironhand's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Thank You. Cannot wait to see it (especially as an A-10 Pilot). Btw: did you think about to generate AVI-Movies? Because the older Tutorials will propably not run with Lomac FC 1.11. With movies your fantastic tutorials will not loose worth with every patch. I would really enjoy that. -

33 309th_Hedgehog replied to 3Sqn_Sven's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yes, I agree. It should be very simple to code that and it would bring a lot of "realistic feeling". Everytime I see a real aircraft I see exactly that point as main difference to LockOn. -
Until the online missions are not taken into account the pilot logbook has no worth for me.

Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar
33 309th_Hedgehog replied to Yellonet's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
(I own the Cougar for about 2 weeks - had the X-45 before) The best thing for me (beside Style, feeling, accuracy,..) are the programming possibilities. 2 Points for example: One Button for Flaps Down (Up): - press Btn T3 once = flaps 50%. press it again (or longer in the first step) = flaps 100%. - Btn T2 is the same for Flaps Up. I hate the different keys in LOMAC for Flaps Down/ Full Down. (This is similar to F6/ F5 in MS FlightSim) Security Button for critical operations I defined a SEC-Btn which you will have to press in conjunction with S3 for Engine Start/Stop Eject Drop Weapons Drop Fuel Tanks This prevents you against accidently "loosing your weapons" on your way. Profile & Doc for download: (Documentation should be self explained and uses the command names of the LOMAC key definitions - if you have probs with a german word you may find either: tell me and I will translate it ;) -
Quick reply, thanks. I'm til now no Windows programmer. Any hint (kind of statement) to handle (open/ read out) that OLE container - for further reading? I do not ask for code, just for a kind of push to find the right direction I have to go. If this does not work I found out, that you can strip the leading binary data til the 'LockOn_Mission' tag to get the XML data

Question about AI wingmen...
33 309th_Hedgehog replied to Jason76's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I didn't know that. Do you have an (or some) examples for us? -
Writing flight plans manually is real hard work: The data is entirely contained in the mission file. I think about writing a tool for printing out flight plans for every machine (should be selectable). Does anybody have some information of the internal format of the mis files?

33 309th_Hedgehog replied to Jason76's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
When you are on glideslope try to maintain correct AOA, stay exactly on glideslope and hold it. So you will land with the appropriate speed - regardless which loadout/ fuel you carry with you.
