hey your'e right! I saw it in the preliminary changelog but i guess they yanked it.

i have seen planes roll forward many times and its not because of a throttle issue. the wind may affect it but I have also seen rolls in hangers. thankfully, 108 will have a handbrake/chocks

Operation Vertical Limit - Coop 4 & SP
jeffyd123 replied to jeffyd123's topic in User Created Missions General
hi shootist.... I wasnt sure if I should add more SP AI wingies so I didnt. IF you want to add them, when in the ME, select the "player" plane... where it shows "1 of 1" (its sort of a spin box type of thing), make the number on the right to "2". BLAM! you have a wingie. -
Operation Vertical Limit - Coop 4 & SP

hey thanks Munny, glad you liked it. If you like canyon flying, check out this one >>> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72711 -
I like them to be "pressed for time" and have a decent sized force attacking a smaller allied force. Currently, Im trying to dev a mission where infantry is being attacked by enemy infantry (the infantry AI isnt very good unfortunately). It hopefully will spawn in 4 different locations and have customized audio CAS calls depending on aircraft position.... hopefully... the triggers are being twitchy.

making active CAS calls by triggers
jeffyd123 replied to jeffyd123's topic in User Created Missions General
update: smoke is still acting strange but working most of the time Random CAS call trigger is working good now (15 sec flag delay, random @ 8, 2KM inclusion radius around AO). Also needed an init trigger to start the flag timer Added an AFAC and a JTAC to test things... neither are working right. Most likely me. Im interested in testing out the AFAC more... he gave me a bullseye call once but hasnt since. Attached the latest .miz Get Home-testv01.miz -
making active CAS calls by triggers
jeffyd123 replied to jeffyd123's topic in User Created Missions General
well some more ME annoyances... I broke the flags up into different numbers to test some different timings and now all kinds of things are porked. 1. the smoke fires off but doesnt show up half the time... it also stops after 30 seconds or so. weird. 2. the random CAS call trigger either works JUST on the timer or not at all (with "random" in there as a 2nd condition. works on 100% or not at all on any other number). 3. the "disperse under fire" function for the enemy AI works on 1 group but not the other. cool when it works though. gonna be a pain to get this working right I thonk. -

making active CAS calls by triggers
jeffyd123 replied to jeffyd123's topic in User Created Missions General
kewl lead... its just in a very crude state but you can fly around and kill bad guys in it and see how the triggers work. note the scripts for random unit placement... they have nothing to do with my CAS calls. -
making active CAS calls by triggers
jeffyd123 replied to jeffyd123's topic in User Created Missions General
alrighty, Got it working thanks to Strong Harm.... Had to change the triggers to "unit" instead of group. Got the smoke firing off now but I had to change the order of its trigger to to the first position or it had delays.... gonna be interesting to see how this goes as I add other AOs. Timings need various tweaks but all of the triggers have audio/message indicators to help me visualize what its going to sound like. Linked it if anyone cares Jeff Get Home.miz -
so now Im confused.... the new driver is only 5 meg (from 5/11) and the previous one is 67 meg? (it also says "pfw" at the end of the name.... I dont know what is what.... any ideas?

making active CAS calls by triggers
jeffyd123 replied to jeffyd123's topic in User Created Missions General
OkiDoki... Tried using four triggers surrounding the AO and it does fire off messages as expected but I dont want it to fire off the other triggers as I fly through them. (Meaning if I fly from the north, I only want to fire off the North trigger and not the South trigger as I exit the area) I got this to work by setting "Time Since Flag" settings but when flying with MP Pilots no triggers were fired off at all. Also Im trying to "re-Light" the smoke markers and not having any luck with a switched condition trigger. Ive attached the .miz if the ME Gods:worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy: want to take a look at my Lowly work LOL. (Ive got the random unit script in there so ignore those) thanks guys for any advice Jeff Get Home.miz -

you could start up and play with the cdu and other stuff in the pit so your more familiar with everything. be sure to make "whoooosh" sounds so your family thinks your completely insane. welcome aboard -
making active CAS calls by triggers
jeffyd123 replied to jeffyd123's topic in User Created Missions General
Ok guys thank you very much for the info. I was hoping to have the blue forces call out "Blue on Blue" if the rounds hit them.... but its no biggie. I guess I could have a message come up saying if they died or not and since I plan on having only about 8 of them I can trigger them and end the mission if they all die. Im gonna experiment with it and see what happens... I'll report back here for reference. Im hoping to employ random unit placement too... Illl build the miz in stages and see what happens. thanks again ME Gods:worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy: -
Hi ME Gods :worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy: Im thinking of making a mission where 1 - 4 A-10s are providing CAS to an infantry unit that is being attacked by enemy infantry. they are danger close so no bombs, rockets or missles can be used... only guns. What I want to do is have up to 20 different sound files that activate when the A-10 is closing in... giving directions and showing the adrenaline of the troops on the ground. also saying when the hits are good or when they can depart, etc. Im thinking of tailoring the sounds even more by having the troops say something like " I can see you approaching from the east" (or west, etc) by using a group of triggers that surround the battle area. My primary questions are: 1. is this the best way to do this (with multiple triggers around the AO) 2. is there anyway the audio can be sent by radio or just "sound to..." any ideas from the gurus :worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy: would be very welcomed. I attached a preliminary audio mock up (.ogg format) to see what you guys think. thanks so much Jeff CAS gunfight sample2.zip

How long did it take you to learn the A10?
jeffyd123 replied to Flacracker's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
1 day... and I learned everything there is to know. Now Im off to cure baldness and figure out why girls are so dumb. -
If its so easy OB1, then why, O why havent you done it?

I paid $280 for mine on ebay so the $180 mark is a good deal. I lke mine but I will say the force sensing thing has its drawbacks. My main trouble is when pulling a long turn you really have to concentrate on the stick to keep from porpoising. Also the plug that goes in the stick is super shitty and hard to plug in when it falls out. The centering issue isnt that big of a deal because you can dead zone it (and the dead zones can be offset to one side) Mine has a small center issue but it isnt a big deal. That being said I do like my stick.... BUT, I do wish I looked at CH stuff first for the money. One of the greatest things about the X65 is how you can change force settings on the fly... A very cool feature that I use every time I fly.... when Im on the ground I have it set to a light feel and when I get on the runway I turn it up so it takes a large amount of force to fly... kind of like a force feedback stick.... I like that. Ive had mine for 6 months now and havent had one lick of trouble from the stick or the software... the quality is ood for the money. and if money is no object, then get the warthog as its very accurate for doung those farggin gun runs.

Hi Aussie, Try this sub forum for your stick >>>http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=135 This will help with the HOTAS commands >>> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69610 What I did when the sim was new was just fly around and shoot oil tanks and get the feel for the plane and start learning the HOTAS.

using quick views is the best pod tip I can give. I remapped CTRL+NUM0 to just NUM0. Im gonna try Sinky's tip too

its just rotating missions ( Like on Iron Eagles Server) for the guys hosting 24/7. I guess its a good way for people to check out new missions and fly with real people if they arent in a wing. Simply no budget to make the awesome campaign engine of Falcon (Ive played it a lot). But the quick missions in A-10 are generated each time. Just read an article by the guy who made the campaign generator for Falcon 4.... very interesting read. It sure is a breathtaking thing to behold when theres 200 planes, 100 tanks and god knows what else on the battlefield all running around with a purpose.

sounds like you just want to jump in and fly ... this one isnt for you more or less. The other games you liked were basically arcade games with no real-world flight/weapons modelling. This one is an in-depth study sim... I dont think its what you're looking for,
