  1. hi ethereal (love the monty python sig BTW!) My upload space is pretty much used up (way too small here) How about i attach the .miz? its a hot pit so you can try it out quickly...taxi out to the runway, takeoff, turn around, touch & Go, then turn around and land... Blamo... blown tires . Sea Hunt.miz
  2. Ive created a mission with dynamic weather and a 4m/s turbulence setting. the landings at Sochi adler @ runway 24 were weird... every single landing, no matter how well done always resulted in 2 or 3 blown tires... But, landing at 06 resulted in no blown tires. Im sure it has something to do with wind direction but it seems to me that there is too much turbulence and crosswind activity in dynamic weather. the .trk is 32 meg so i cant upload it... there were 6 MP pilots in the session and all had the same results.
  3. Im wondering if you have to set up each plane as you want it for MP missions.
  4. try free falcon... they had an F14 in there that was simply fantastic. I think you had to add one of the aftermarket pits to it but it was amazing.
  5. bump... a hopeful bump LOL
  6. strong harm was telling me you can go into the plane using "prepare mission" from the ME and set the plane up the way you want it to be when the mission fires up. I have tried this but with all of my planes set to "client" I couldnt get in a plane but it should work if you set them as "player".... maybe. Sorry I dont have more info about it.
  7. i just started putting dynamic weather in a mission and its pretty dam cool. each time i restart the mission the weather is different. I have noticed the turbulence is more intense as well. I havent seen the "notes"... where can i fiind them?
  8. very nice fred
  9. no, you just have to move them for and aft 20 times real fast.\ heres an amazon link... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006B84X/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00006B84V&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0KFC0JBSKJEVSRW7T3YA
  10. i have noticed the "H" versions seem to launch when off-center better than the "D" models do. It seems to me the "D" models will launch further out though.
  11. very nice work eddie... Im posting this on the front post. thanks!
  12. leave it to the "X" to de-mystify another confusing thing... rep inbound and thanks !
  13. my contribution.... "upon approaching the enemy target, slew your TGP cursor, over the target, press TMS forward long, then CTRL+E 3 times"
  14. As for the lights- -the florescent strip lights are the dial on the lighting panel... useless in daytime. -the nose illumination lights kind of point out at a 45 degree angle from the front of the plane. -the steering light is the T handle toggle next to the anti-skid toggle. -as far as the pinky switch, i dont have one so i mapped lights on to "L" and lights off to "RSHIFT+L". As far as the mark points I dont think you can rename them but Im not sure.
  15. damn, 88 pages! thanks, I may bind this and beat my girlfriend to death with it LOL.
  16. Ha HA!!! thats a good one. I wonder how many guys have to do that? And while they fly their wives say " Why arent you like a normal husband that hangs out in the bars, get drunk and cheats on me!!!" they love the drama...
  17. Hi Mingo... I have likes and dislikes about my stick... The no movement thing is fairly hard to get used to... I still find myself yanking too hard on the stick and the plane bouncing up and down. I have my settings turned up so there is quite a bit of force when Im flying. when you are in the zone and flying, the stick really is a very cool sensation... especially with a lot of force.... my hand gets a bit tired after a couple hour sortie. There are a lot of hats and they are reasonably well laid out (plus you can change out the hats "heads"), but the throttle hats are a tad too far apart and requires I shift my hand a lot to use different hats. I also find the stick a bit too large for my hand. the 2 lower hats on the throttle are too close together and are easily confused... it requires you "feel" around for the correct hat while flying.. Maybe Ill try putting some tactile thing on the lower one. The biggest gripe i have is the EXTREMELY LAME plug on the stick... its basically a shitty, P.O.S, S-Video plug that slips out without really any force and is very hard to line up to get back in... HOLY CRAP SAITEK, ITS NOT LIKE THIS IS THE FIRST STICK YOU EVER MADE.... and yes, it really pisses me off. some guys on here showed me the CH lineup and frankly I wished I looked at them first... I may not have bought one, I just wished I looked at them. they are very good quality and have a ton of hats, plus they are less expensive than the x-65. no rudder built in though... still you can have a HOTAS and rudder for the same price of the x65. One thing I really like about the x65 is how you can change the amount of force used with the push of a button... very cool feature. The quality is very good overall and its cool to feel cold steel in your hands when you fire up your bird. The stick has functioned without one flaw or hiccup in 4 months of use... including the profiling software. The best stick would of course be the warthog if you have the money... I feel you can get a pretty good HOTAS for about $300 and it will serve you well for a long time.
  18. You are the man Gadroc... Thanks for your contributions and foresight.
  19. - learn the different HOTAS moves to run the systems. I wrote down the Maverick engagement process as its the hardest (IMO) - Check out this thing to help you learn & visualize them http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69610 - Get yur butt in the air and practice until your eyes bleed - Repeat as needed
  20. hey kllr, first off, what system are you looking at building? how much do you have budgeted for it? Are you gonna build or buy a new rig? -if building do you have parts to re-use? Im running a 20 month old rig (see sig) and with the latest patch its very smooth now... so the sim runs on a mediocre machine now. You may want to compromise a bit on the PC investment and upgrade it in a year. I used to build gaming PCs and the latest stuff isnt that much faster for the extreme premium you pay. If you can, get an i7 CPU... they are awesome. I would have to say that HOTAS of some kind is needed... there are a lot of HOTAS commands in the sim and it will suck trying to use a cheap, old stick. I bought the saitek x65 and I like it but I really wish I looked at CH's stuff first as Konkusson showed me. They both have a lot of HATS that you are going to need... A-10 isnt like Falcon in that department. My previous stick was an X45 which was great for Falcon but sucked for A-10 (not enough Hats). Track IR is must. Good luck Jeff
  21. oh geez... thought this one was going somewhere else LOL
  22. Oh... you can play the sim too much??!??!!??
  23. that HSI is looking great Dark! thanks again
