The patch is great... i got lucky and just installed 1.06, then 1.07 and everything is perfect... i also bumped up my graphics and its very smooth with no crashes wOOt!! the occasional lag at AGM hits and a 5 second pause when a MP player joined but thats it. great job guys!

ummm... do you have 1024 as your setting for MFD resolution in your video settings? Are you zooming in? are you using white/black hot? do you have teamspeak 3 installed?
-
Thanks Warrior! Ok... quick view (RALT+NUM0) will show a forward view of the pit... you then use the numbers on your keypad to view different instruments in the pit. The MFD will be full screen and it really helps. The wedding cake sounds like you may have made something the SPI... it usually shows up like that. When searching with your TGP, its best to Slave it to the Steerpoint (china hat back long), then start searching that area... you will also see the TGP indicator on your TAD to help you get situational awareness. The SA-13, SA-19 & SA-15 are medium altitude SAMS... you gotta be AT LEAST 20K AGL to have any chance to evade them... generally, you find them from far away (10 miles or so), turn in, get the mav off ASAP and TURN AWAY. If the RWR goes off (use it in "semi" mode) break off the attack and turn away without any delay. the other SAMs are pretty lame and wont touch you at 20K. Best to stay up high when you move to a new area so you can clear it of SAMs first. Many times Im at 22K or 24K to evade SAMs. next time I hear from you I want to see a track of you killing 5 SAMS! get to work flyboy!

oops... ya thats right, your on a 940. I would try out Red baron's profile first and see how you like it I bet its very good... Im not sure but I would imagine there are several premade layouts in the forums for you to try. After some time in the sim you will more than likely make your own custom profile suited to how you want the HOTAS to be. I found it very easy to map the controls in the sim... takes me maybe 20 minutes. I also feel it may be a tiny bit more responsive directly mapping controls in the sim instead of in the profile... just a guess.
-
Just keep practicing...You will learn to stay above 10,000 feet (AGL) or more when there are SAMs around. Fly back and forth to your enemy, about 10 - 15 miles out and keep searching on your TGP for those lil buggers. when your view from your pod gets blocked, turn 180 degrees and keep looking. Always get the SAMs and AAA first. the next thing to learn is to use quick views for your MFDs. I remapped my RCTRL+NUM0 to just NUM0 to activate/deactivate quick views. it really helps a lot. Be sure to use white hot/black hot on your pod too... it will make the enemy units show up better... usually. I bet in a week you'll be killing commie aggressors by the hundreds!

any good x65 profiles to share?
jeffyd123 replied to TeeJay82's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I mapped mine directly in game except for my Boat switch which i mapped using bands in the saitek profile. Here is a graphic map of what i did http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=63912 hope it helps. Jeff -
depending on the stick you have you can use the Stick's profiling software or map the controls directly in the game (look for "HOTAS" in the controls list). I have an X-65 with lots of HATS so i mapped them directly in the game... My buddy had an X-45 and he mapped all of the HATS in the game too but used modifiers to make some of the HATS have 2 different functions depending whether they were shifted (modified) or not. If you have a TM WartHog you are already good to go. I tried to map my HATS as close to the real stick as possible... getting a layout of the HOTAS setup in the sim will help... look in the forums. There should be some here. they will help you design your own setup.

*Hit CTRL+kpd0 then kpd6 to view only the right MFD Techinically, you use "Right" CTRL+NUM0. I use these all of the time... when you engage snap views (RCTRL+NUM0) hit the different numbers on your keypad to see the various instruments then RCTRL+NUM0 to go back to the regular view. It will really help when searching. I remapped my control to use just "NUM0" (AKA kpd0 above).... much faster and dramatically less hassle.
-
i found that using the "quick view" for the MFDs help enourmously. the bigger the TGP MFD is the better. I also switch between white and black hot a lot....Searching for them little basterds is a pain... The advice above is also very wise and mandatory... If there are SAMs in the area, you will need to be at least 10K above the ground depending on the SAM.

Ya it didnt work for me... I tried CTRL as well as ALT all i got was pics of the desktop (both of mine). Maybe Ill have to try running the ME in non FullScreen. So you can actually get a ME screenshot with OneNote?
-
hey strong... did you screenshot that in the ME or in the sim? I cant get any screenshots (including PrintScreen) in the ME.

I have been making missions on the coast and lately I made one that went up a pretty cool valley from Bzyb' ( follow the road that goes into the hills), and taking off from Sachi Adler which is located up the coast (North). the valley is very long and leads over the mountains to the russian side of the border... there are little towns along the way too. Another cool valley is where the town of Tyrnyauz is (about 60 KM at heading 250 from Nalchik airport). the valley is very long and wide... the side are 5,000 feet high at some points. fun for doing column attacks. I made a mission called operation vertical limit there. I like canyon flying... adds a lot of extra workload and its fun to keep the bird's energy up to climb out after attacks.

You dont need to make a mark point, but just make a target SPI (TMS Forward Long), then DMS Left Long will broadcast it, but, it is indeed broken in MP right now.
