Any Good Ground Object Mods Out There!
Chief Instructor replied to JOEM423's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
@JOEM423 Here's a couple of links to download some good stuff. They both work in the current beta too https://drive.google.com/file/d/11GiECtlrGhXEkoMwl_yJP00sCzeLlQGP/view?fbclid=IwAR3LWN2z6GinfzhLF2O3UL_c1yHEZGdB2OGv_cCqDEIsQ3AFxZKY4FjKVRY https://massun92.gumroad.com/l/VTreS?recommended_by=discover&fbclid=IwAR1F8tDwPibhTgNS6fTIRPSiGFt3wbBgt7m-XEcyk6cIh6LlC8ZD3pQcJKM -
Reinstallation *or* DCS_updater?
Chief Instructor replied to Chief Instructor's topic in Installation Problems
That's a very helpful reply @Rudel_chw. Thanks for taking the time to help me The following has also occurred to me though... Does the DCS_updater check and fix the integrity of the map and module files in addition to the DCS core? If not, I'm wondering that if my CTD problems are being caused by a map rather than the core DCS, then reinstalling using my existing installation as the source will copy the problem to the new installation? -
Hi, Being unable to find the cause of a number of mission editor CTD problems I've been having, I am considering a fresh install as a last resort. Question 1: Does completing the dcs_installer cleanup and repair options with the 'check all files' option selected result in an installation that is as good as a fresh installation? Or, can the DCS_updater miss items and leave problems? (Completing the dcs_installer cleanup and repair options have not solved my problem). Question 2: Can I reinstall the core DCS (current beta) and use my existing downloaded maps and modules without having to download them all again? Thanks in advance!
-
No, I have installed both, doing it with OvGME and manually. I guess the next thing to try is a re-installation of DCS
-
@Rudel_chw I downloaded and installed but most of the objects are still causing CTD if I even select them, without even placing them. I've done a dcs_updater.exe cleanup and repair, emptied my shaders, updated my GPU drivers, sfc /scannow and DISM repair for windows and nothing has fixed the problem. I'm at a bit of a loss to know what to try next?
-
@Rudel_chw Awesome, thanks! I'll download and see how it goes. Thanks
-
Ok, I've worked out why whywouldn't land at Til Saman... There was an object placed too close to the landing area. Even though it wasn't actually on it, it was just too close. You live and learn!
-
I just tried a quick test at another airfield (Tabqa) and the AI landed fine. Til Saman has an icon on the map for a "General Aviation Airfield" whereas the airfield I had a successful test with was a class 2 airfield. Could this be the problem? Can AI pilots land at GA airfields?

I know, I know, there have been a few posts on this and honestly, I've read through them all but I'm still confused! All I want to know is whether or not there is: A) a version of this that works in the current DCS Open Beta 2.7.11.21408.1 ? B) If so, where can I download the correct version and any associated fixes/patches? I currently have 0.9.4 beta unpacked in my /saved games/DCS/MODS/Tech folder and some of it works but much of it causes a CTD if I even select certain objects in the drop down menus, without even placing them anywhere Yours hopefully and a little desperately... CFI

Hi. I've just started trying to place one of these in a mission but even selecting it in the static units menu causes a CTD. I have done a DCS Cleanup and Repair but it still happens. Any advice? Thanks

Thanks - yes it is!

I can't get my number 2 to do anything I ask in the AH64... For example, I made a small mission based at Tal Siman, Syria. We take off, blow some stuff up, then RTB. However, if I ask No.2 to RTB, he just heads for the sea and keeps going. If I ask him to hold position, he heads for the sea, and so on. He is responding to my radio commands but not carrying them out. Could I be doing something dumb? Thanks

Hi. In one of Wags' recent videos for the AH 64D (Rockets 1 I think) there appears to be a C-RAM Centurion Phalanx parked at Tal Siman airfield in Syria where he takes off from. Is this available in the current open beta, or is it a Wags tease? I can't it anywhere!

Thanks - Tried that but still no results!

Replay tracks - Are they working properly for you?
Chief Instructor replied to Chief Instructor's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Thanks but I can't really fully agree... I don't have significant problems with most other modules, though I concede that some can be flaky. However, the AH 64 tracks are currently unusable for me. I know that this has been a common problem with new modules in the past. -
Each time a save a track, for example, taking off, flying to waypoint, attacking tanks... when I replay the track, everything is offset by about 1Km. The helo takes off and goes enroute but the attack in centred in the wrong place. All of my recorded tracks have the same problem. Is anyone else having track problems?

I may be going nuts... I'm sure that I was able to jettison my missiles and rockets before, but now it doesn't seem to work. I'm arming the pylons I want to jettison, seeing the "armed" green light but nothing is happening when I press the jettison button. What could I be doing wrong?
-
I have both on my rig. When I power up my G2, the default Windows WMR portal opens. If I close that, then launch WMR for SVR, just Steam VR opens, my headset is blank and WMR for SVR appears not to running, as it has the "Launch" option enabled in the Steam Library. The only way I get a picture in my headset is if I launch SteamVR, which then automatically launches the generic WMR portal. I'm confoooooozed! CFI

Something i noticed in the patch notes
Chief Instructor replied to Falconeer's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Or you could say they broke something that didn't need fixing! -
Reverb G2 - Erratic mouse control
Chief Instructor replied to Chief Instructor's topic in Virtual Reality
* FIXED * Right... I've fixed it and the answer was simple: I changed the WMR/Display Input setting to Manual and that was that. Thanks to everyone for their replies Luke/CFI -
Reverb G2 - Erratic mouse control
Chief Instructor replied to Chief Instructor's topic in Virtual Reality
Hi, yes. I have completely uninstalled Oculus. Already done that. Hasn't helped It's a wired mouse and I have no other VR related stuff installed or running. Besides, it isn't a fundamental mouse problem as it only current occurs in VR using my G2. All other scenarios are fine. -
Reverb G2 - Erratic mouse control
Chief Instructor replied to Chief Instructor's topic in Virtual Reality
Hi @speed-of-heat. Yes, the mouse 'white dot' in the UI and the mouse pointer within the cockpit do move provided that I move the physical mouse on my desktop fast enough. So, moving the pointer around the screen isn't a problem. However, when trying to make smaller movements, such as selecting individual switches, or menu items within the UI, it sticks UNLESS I move the physical mouse faster. It's as if the physical mouse movement on my desk is being ignored until the physical mouse reaches a certain minimum velocity, at which point the pointer on the screen responds. It's tricky to describe without being able to actually show you! -
Reverb G2 - Erratic mouse control
Chief Instructor replied to Chief Instructor's topic in Virtual Reality
Certainly "yes" from my end. No, 2d is fine, as is my Rift S. The problem only occurs with the G2/WMR/SVR No, none at all. Clean installation of DCS Open Beta -
Hi! I've recently got my new G2 and am gradually navigating my way through the oddities of WMR and SteamVR. However, there is one issue I cannot seem to solve... When in DCS, control of the mouse pointer both in the UI and cockpit is really 'sticky'. By this I mean that the pointer on the screen feels stuck to the spot unless I move the mouse faster. If I move the mouse slowly, the pointer doesn't move. Sometimes, it's only in one plain, i.e. vertical movement works fine but horizontal movement is sticky. Sometimes, it's the other way around. This is making accurate control of cockpit switches and using the mission editor very difficult. Is this problem unique to me? Cheers!
