Thrustmaster HOTAS Problem
Mike Busutil replied to Mike Busutil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
First I made sure I did not have any driver or software issues with my computer while all USB's were disconnected. Then I tested my TM HOTAS on another computer, it did not work on the other computer which pointed at a joystick problem. I removed the handle from the base and inspected the pins on the bottom of the handle, they looked good. (Without taking the handle apart) I then looked at the plug on the base where the handle pins go into, since I could not tell if anything was wrong with the base plug just by looking at it, I took the base apart. Once inside I could see the base plug and the wires behind it. I noticed the black ground wire was no longer connected. A quick soldering job on the wire fixed the broken wire but then I noticed the plug in the base where the handle plugs into looked low, as if the pins would not seat in all the way. I was able to push the base connector up a little bit so the controller had a good connection with the pins. I then tried the Thrustmaster firmware updater, this time with success. I believe at some point my wife plugged my controller handle into the base and screwed it down while the control stick was backwards... This caused the lower port to get pressed into the base and not have connectivity with the handle. -

Thrustmaster HOTAS Problem
Mike Busutil replied to Mike Busutil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I disconnected all USB's, shutdown and rebooted. I am still showing the Yellow alert in the device manager that says "Universal serial bus (USB) controller" (Drivers not installed). I also tried to connect my HOTAS Joystick into another computer to see if it will come up. No good there either. Same issue... -
All of a sudden my Thrustmaster Joystick does not work.... My computer is seeing the HOTAS in my "Devices & printers" but it is not allowing me to set it as a game controller. Human interface device (HID) Also if I look at properties of the Joystick in the devices and printers page it says "This device is working properly' I am getting an error in my device manager that says "Universal serial bus (USB) controller" Notice my joystick now says "Bulk" When I look at that error it states "The drivers for this device are not installed" Code 28 and no further info. When I try to update it says it cannot find an update online. When I use the Thrustmaster updater I also get an error. I installed the latest driver from Thrustmaster. HOTAS Warthog - 2014_TMWH_1 package 2014-02-18 I did a few computer reboots as well as updates from DELL and Microsoft. Still nothing... Any ideas???

All of your key commands can be found in options... If I recall the airbrakes are "Left Shift+ B" and "Left CRTL+B" The HUD color can be switched on the front dash panel Under the laser arm switch.

When I move the dial knobs to turn on or off the lights in the A-10C or Huey, as soon as I move them just a little they will go to the max position instead of allowing me to slowly adjust the knob linear. Not sure if this has already been reported.

Got it working, Thanks for the help.

What technique is best used to change the level of Specularity? I am using Photoshop for the file edits but am not seeing much change (If any at all) Is there a particular value or setting I should be using? I am looking for a dull flat look, no shine. Thanks for any help. Edit: found this from Rudel. When you look at the OEM SPEC *.dds files of the P-51D 'Bare Metal' skin, you notice the files use greenish and magneta colors to distinguish from flat & matte, to reflections. From a beginners stand-point, "The greener it is, the more matte it is; The more magneta it is, the shinier & more reflective it is.

In this example, what does the 0 and 2 reference? {"A-10C_PAINT_1-a", 0 ,"A-10C_41sqn_1-a",false}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-a", 2 ,"a-10c_41-sqn-a_SPEC",false};

Joey, This is what I'm looking for. The dull faded look instead of the shiny polished look. :thumbup:

I think the BlackHawk would be a lot of fun in DCS, including in flight refueling & Fast Rope Insertion Extraction System (FRIES) missions.

Copy, thank you.

If I look here: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\World\textures\A-10.zip I see a few files with the name "a-10c_spec_1-a.bmp.dds" Are these the specularity files I am looking for?

Negative, I am only seeing this in the description.lau livery = { {"A-10C_PAINT_1-a", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-a",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-b", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-b",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-c", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-c",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-d", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-d",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-e", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-e",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-f", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-f",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-g", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-g",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-h", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-h",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-i", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-i",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-j", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-j",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-k", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-k",true}; {"A-10C_PAINT_1-L", 0 ,"A-10C_74th FS_1-L",true}; {"A-10_Number", 0 ,"TactNumbers-USAF-Light_black",true}; {"A-10_Number_Noze_F", 0 ,"empty",true}; {"A-10_Number_Noze_T", 0 ,"TactNumbers-USAF-Light_black",true}; {"A-10_Number_Wheel", 0 ,"TactNumbers-USAF-Light_black",true}; } countries = {"USA"}
