  1. What?! Turn on the gyro reticle, that is what it's for...
  2. Hey! It's a tour not a treasure hunt :D Give me some coordinates...
  3. Diveplane, I am using your awesome P-51 sound mod and notice the engine audio gets quiet while in the cockpit if I look left or right, it will also get quiet when the gun fires. Is there a fix for this?
  4. Great, now I have to go looking...
  5. Are you saying the A models take longer to align the INS or that the C model does not require any time to align the INS? In the INS / ALIGN Sub-Page we have the option for ground alignment (R3), or Inflt alignment (R5) R3 - When first starting the aircraft and aligning it on the ground, GROUND will be selected by default. This results in a full gyrocompass alignment. The average ground alignment time is 5 minutes and is automatically started when the EGI switch is set to ON. The aircraft must not be moving for correct alignment. R5 - If the INS alignment needs to be re-aligned while the aircraft is in flight or moving on the ground, this option is used. This alignment process uses current position and velocity measurements from the INS. Before starting an in flight alignment, EGI, STR PT and ANCHR should be deselected from the Navigation Mode Select Panel or select HARS. The EGI GPS will then be used to align the EGI INS. This process can take between 5 and 10 minutes.
  6. You don't have to choose, the only right choice is the P-47D :D
  7. Attached is the flight profile. I used the Ka-50 as the default aircraft because it has the route following autopilot and it's also able to carry external fuel tanks for long flights like this one. But you can change it to any model you would like. This file starts at 0700 in the Ka-50 along with 3 other wingmen to keep you company. (No weapons and four external fuel tanks) I will update the file as more locations become available. DCS World tour.miz
  8. I have all (current) waypoints plotted on the map. I changed the order in which each waypoint is flown as to make the flight plan flow better from north to south starting from Anapa and ending in Batumi. 18 waypoints total. Route length = 608 NM Range 332 NM I am going to verify some waypoint locations in game and I will upload as soon as I can.
  9. The first page has the coordinates listed in DMS Lat Lon (Degrees minutes seconds) minus the seconds so it is less accurate. I was wanting MGRS (Military grid reference system) "4QFJ 12345 67890" accurate up to 1 meter. Or for example LAT 27.174923 Lon 78.041832 I am working on the flight plan now, I'll see what I can come up with.
  10. Yes, but I would prefer to get Lat Lon coordinates or MGRS... I am planning to build a flight plan for this tonight.
  11. "The DCS: MiG-21bis will come pre-painted in 6 liveries from different countries and eras. A paint-kit (layered .PSD files) will be included in the release version allowing you (and other community members) to create your own liveries. Leatherneck Simulations may include more liveries post-release in a Patch." Stated here http://www.leatherneck-sim.com/dcs-mig-21/ under liveries (skins).
  12. Off field landings can be done as long as you are at landing speed...
  13. Can we make this a sticky so we can have all the Mig-21 screenshots that are soon to come in one place? Cobra, You should get the honor of posting the first awesome screenshot :D
  14. Let's fix the gun smoke... I would like to see flames come out the the exhaust when the engine is starting when rich. (The Mi-8 APU startup comes to mind) Also I would like to see Ricardo make an HD cockpit :)
  15. This was my 2nd landing in the P-51 when I was still learning how to handle her. I let the rudder get away from me... After I spent some time with her in the traffic pattern and read the flight manuals I learned how she likes to be treated for landing. (landing setup at 9:00 minute mark)
  16. :megalol: For what?
  17. I am surprised that there are nearly 1,000 votes in the poll so far... Didn't know we had so many DCS pilots.
  18. I have seen my wingman's wheels spinning in the A-10C as he accelerates for takeoff. Looks like he was doing a burnout :D
  19. Essentially this is a downwind engine out landing procedure. Very easy to do with only one turn required. It's more difficult with a strong headwind or crosswinds. Also this procedure is explained in the P-51D flight manual on page 132 through page 134.
