  1. Thanks... same issue. 2.5.5 Open Beta, but couldn't find Viper in Module Manager. Updating now.
  2. I've been using the NLR platform with various sims, including DCS. Since the platform is a company asset, and not something I own personally, I was testing with DCS and the the SU-25, since I could install without using my personal copy of DCS. Anyway, by the default, the seat simply tilts to reflect the pitch and bank angle, which is far from generating realistic motion cues. Has anyone created a NLR profile that provides motion queues for throttle changes, slips and skids, longitudinal accelerations, but generally ignores the attitude of the plane? It seems that this would be far more realistic. I know the interface allows customization of the platform mapping of simulation data to the limited DOFs of the seat. Just wondering what others have tried.
  3. I picked up a 2 DOF racing sim seat for a project at work. Tried it out with DCS. Default behavior is to match the pitch and bank of the aircraft to 30 degrees while wearing VR. As a pilot, I found the motion cues confusing, as I felt like I was not coordinating my turns. I may try to implement some of the acceleration and runway braking cues with fore-aft tilt, but I prefer to not have any roll, or to have the seat roll only to simulate slips and skids. The seat is a very nice high performance piece of engineering. Overall, I was disappointed by the experience, but it is worth further tweaking.
  4. I have managed to get pretty good at catching the 3rd wire on the carrier, but when I save the replay and try watch, I never get a clear arrest and bolter into the sea. Are you aware of problems with replaying a carrier landing?
  5. Also arrow cursor sprite is corrupted.. like every other scan line is transparent. And cannot select items in lower part of display
  6. Since installing 2.5.1, by Rift no longer works... the splash screen comes up in roughly square aspect ratio, then the main screen comes up, with the right edge cut off. Theme music playing inside Rift. No image in the rift, other than Oculus saying DCS is taking a long time to start. Unplugging the rift or unchecking the start in VR mode box results in a normal 16:9 aspect window and normal gameplay. Rift works fine otherwise.
  7. The leep with Orion software is pretty darn good. Have it mounted on my Rift and testing using UE4. I think it's time for another look.
  8. I finally got a leap motion device working well in the rift. The new drivers and good calibration mad a huge difference. From the tests I performed using UE4, I believe the leep is good enough now for clicking switches in the VR cockpit. Way better than looking for my mouse with the Rift on.
  9. I've spent years developing a high fidelity aero model and ground handling model for this aircraft... Would DCS be interested in evaluating this model for potential licensing? I haven't reviewed all 21 pages of this thread, so I have no idea where they are in development. Please send a PM if there is potential interest.
  10. Same exact issue here. What to do to keep the heli's from crashing?
  11. I've been running Beta-3 on an external monitor connected to my laptop. When the external monitor is unplugged, and I attempt to run on the native display HD laptop display, the system crashes, as it attempts to run full screen at an unsupported resolution (of the disconnected monitor). Similarly, If I attempt to switch from the built-in laptop screen to the external monitor without first resetting the resolution in options, the system crashes. Just a bug that needs to be fixed before release.
