  1. Got these on Amazon, depends what size you need though https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09PBJHMND?ref=emc_s_m_5_i_atc&th=1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09PBK3L2N?ref=emc_s_m_5_i_atc&th=1 or what about using Rivet Nuts? M5 Rivet Nuts
  2. That's how I do it, open and uncompress it with 7-Zip then just open the Mission file with Notepad++ and remove any offending modules, saved a fair amount of missions that way. It has thrown a few people expecting to find a Lua as there's no file extension but just told them what one to open, least Notepad++ saves with no extension so no need to remove txt from the end. I told a few people to remember to rename it from a zip file back to a miz when packing it back up, they zipped it up and just put it back then claimed it hadn't work
  3. Managed to get 30 minutes in with version 2 before having to do some work Nice cockpit, most of my previous mappings still work so not had to do that and nice to have A/A and A/G with massive loadouts. The AIM-200A wortks fine, can't remember if that was included or a mod I installed, I know I got the AIM-174B by Currenthill. Excellent update and one of my favourite 3rd party mods
  4. You could try it on your old PC and see if it works, if it does least you know it's the current system and a conflict of some kind causing the problem. If you want to keep the module in the hopes that getting it sorted to fly and you are happy then waiting until you got a bit more time to sort it is a good option. The main thing is you have stress tested DCS, as far as I know there aren't any other issues with your system in general so it points to an issues with the F-4E and not something that is system/DCS wide. I know you aren't keen on the techy stuff but the Paging File is important, so be worth checking just to make sure it's not set too low or even disabled. Like I said, I know a few people that out the blue their Paging File was reset to "No Paging File" by Windows with no interaction by them, probably a glitch of some kind or Windows Update causing an issue. It's not a pro video as I've had to quickly do it before going out but did this just to show you how to set the Paging File. As long as it's set to "System Managed" or "Custom" it should be fine. I've only shown how to get to it and set it for a custom 32GB block (providing you got 32GB free) on the drive, should be set on your fastest drive as well. I have done this as 32GB seems to be the go to suggestion with DCS staff and testers, normally I use customs settings depending on different factors but won't get into that Bit jerky the video as I forgot to change the FPS Paging File 32GB.mp4
  5. Glad you got it sorted and it's working, shame about the F-4E Phantom II though as it's a nice aircraft, least they have a good refund policy. Just had a brief look at your logs in the zip file, say brief I only just got in and going to bed soon as I finished my coffee as I got an early start Most of the errors in the log are integrity check failures [IC Fail] and texture issues with the F-4E, I take it you haven't modded the Phantom in any way after the install. If you have could try installing it again and test it before doing any mods to it. If you haven't modded it but got third party mods installed you could try removing them, I generally just drag them into a non DCS folder then try it with DCS clean. If that works you can then drag your third party mods back over one at a time and see which one is causing the issue. Of course if you do modding and a like many use a mod manager you can just disable them and do it that way. Example of this is I had the JAS-39 Gripen third party mod installed and seemed to work fine, right up until I tried landing my F-18 on a carrier which wasn't there. Having that mod installed disabled all my carriers so had to remove it
  6. You got two things in your files, one is VCRuntime140.DLL error in dxdiag.txt which apparently crashed DCS.exe, you can try to sort that by a post I did earlier: In the DCS log there's quite a few "out of memory" errors, forget that you have 32GB of RAM as plenty of people run on that, but 64GB is better and check your Virtual Memory.
  7. No problem, it's worth keeping Microsoft Viscual C++ up to date, not just for DCS as it's widely used but DCS does require it. There has been a few issues with some people and the last couple of releases of Nvidia drivers, quite a few have dropped back to a previous version to solve issues. As for Malwarebytes that's become a problem over the last 4 months or so, DCS it started with the major patch back in August I think where it keeps removing DCS files. Normally it will remove a single DLL file out the aircraft Bin folder. Sometimes it doesn't work at all but other times you get the warning that it's an unauthorised module and will disabled in 2d 23h 59m, caused massed panic few months ago The worst offenders were Malwarebytes and McAfee, Windows Defender had the occasional issue and Norton was mainly trying to block internet access due to unsigned files. I test Malwarebytes in manual mode to see what it picks up without deleting anything, at one point back in August it disabled every single Flaming Cliffs aircraft by removing a single DLL file out each of the folders.
  8. You got a VC Runtime error in your log as well which can cause issues sometimes. As there is a new build recently be worth updating Microsoft Viscual C++ 2015-2022, if it's installed just do a repair but if not it will update. The latest Microsoft Viscual C++ 2015-2022 (x64) Build 14.40.33816.0 can be downloaded below, first is the direct link so will just download or second link you can go to Microsoft site yourself and pick the x64 version off the list at the top, which shows the direct link. https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe (direct link) https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
  9. No problem
  10. I've done a quick one, not used to DCS templates but have just noticed the panels have numbers to easier to look for things I've used the default F/A-18C Lot 20 template as I've got that module. I've added the name and callsign to both sides of the canopy. Had a quick look at your profile as it looked a little bare so hopefully got the other couple of bits right, if you don't like any of it I can remove the following easy enough. Added a small flag by the cockpit and on the tail. Added a random number '402' to the front and tail, can change that to a specific number if you want. Added a couple of air force logos along the side, roughly where I saw them in the photos I Googled. Added a matt black panel along the top of the aircraft just to break up the grey I've added some install instructions just in case you weren't sure, better to have it than not Will add the files below, was going to put them online somewhere but zipped up they are small enough to go on here, can delete them after you downloaded them if needed. Captain Lasken.zip Captain Lasken Lo-Vis.zip
  11. You could always set up snap views, it's fairly straight forward. You can set views to be zoomed in on panels using the numeric keypad and either use it in quick look mode just to view info on screen or switch to toggle if you need to do stuff. Few details on this page, expect DCS has got some info on it in the forums or help section but this is the basics, just need to look at "Default Keybindings" and "Custom Snapviews" part. I would expalin it myself but just in from work and want to go to bed https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/Cockpit_Views If you do play about with Snap Views before you start copy the file "SnapViews.lua" to another folder then if anything goes wrong you can just put the original back. This file is in your Saved Games folder, if you know where it is fine but if not just type %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games into the Windows Run Command Box and it will open up Saved Games, or use Windows Search on the taskbar and open the folder, it will open Saved Games and you can just select DCS. You will need to go to the following folder: Saved Games/DCS/Config/View and the "SnapViews.lua" file is in there. You can just right click and copy the right click and paste it into another folder on out of DCS.
  12. Have you managed to do this yourself yet, if not I can do something simple for you on the F/A-18C, name, rank and call sign as haven't got much free time at the moment. Be something like this on the side: CAPT THOLF K LASKEN 'CALLSIGN' If you need it done just let me know the rank and callsign you want
  13. It gives you a store/details page for the object but doesn't work for most things apart from ships at the moment. If you click on a ship then the arrow it will tell you how much fuel, ammo and aircraft are onboard, that kind of thing. Would have thought it would work for tankers as well but doesn't, although not tried it in air to air refuelling so not sure if it works in that scenario. Guessing if you were in a mission that didn't have everything set to unlimted it would be handy to see if a carrier had what you needed before landing on it. This is what you get if you click on a carrier, although all vessels were pretty much the same last time I looked.
  14. You tried ACES II Seat or ACES II Ejection Seat as it's sometimes called, probably not by Viperpits though
  15. Looking forward to this, one of my favourite mods to play.
  16. Was just updating my post when you posted that, another post I did reminded me
  17. Was just about to ask if you did a clean install of the Nvidia stuff, sometimes stuff gets left behind and either have to use a clean up program or manually remove it but you just ruled that out by reinstalling Windows. As you have done most of the stuff as mentioned above such as Event Viewer and it's not giving much to go on I would see if it's running any tasks when it happens, last time I looked at a system crashing (not DCS related) it was handy as happened the same time everyday so gave me a head start Next time it does it make a note of the time and have a look to see if anything is logged at that time, can do it using Power Shell or Command LIne. Start Powershell as Admin then type this command, it will sort it in descending order: Get-ScheduledTask | Get-ScheduledTaskInfo | Select TaskName, TaskPath, LastRunTime | Sort LastRunTime -Descending | out-gridview Alternatively you can use the Command Prompt but the display is a bit more basic, this way you can save it as a MS Excel file: schtasks /query /FO CSV /V >C:\Documents\tasks-list.csv You can change the C:\Documents to whatever you like, so could even create a temporary directory like C:\Temp, as long as the directory exists for it to save to. Bit off topic as well but make sure you got Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 (x64) Build 14.40.33810 installed, although updated to Build 14.40.33816 few days ago. https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
  18. MAXsenna is correct, the cockpit resolution affects the mirrors. The reason it probably looks bad is you normally don't zoom in so far that the mirror takes up most of the screen. This is a comparision I have just done in the F/A-18C sat on the carrier, one is 256 resolution and the other is 1024 resolution, nothing other than that setting was touched. This is the 256 Resolution: This is the 1024 Resolution:
  19. Takes me straight to it, try a different browser as often they can cause problems on some sites and will work for one but not another. Sometimes it's browser addons causing the problem. Get it off there GitHub site: https://github.com/Heatblur-Simulations/f-4e-manual/releases or use the direct download from there: https://github.com/Heatblur-Simulations/f-4e-manual/releases/download/v.3.5/f4e_manual.pdf
  20. I would go as suggested, motorcycle steering damper as they are small and robust. Unlike brand names that cost £250 ($325 USD) you can get new universal ones for around £23 ($30 USD) to £35 ($46 USD) on eBay or Amazon. Another alternative is boot/tailgate gas struts providing they are secured properly, get some short or adjustable on eBay or Amazon for £15 ($20 USD) to £35 ($45 USD)
  21. Yeah shouldn't be there, that's from something else I wrote down. I've only set the Y Saturation and don't use dead zones on the OH-6A
  22. Found it now, never normally bother with weather settings when I create missions but now I've had a look and seen what's in there will use it more
  23. Made a few changes on my Thrustmaster T.16000M HOTAS and finding it a lot calmer now and easier to handle, especially hovering. I'm flying using these settings, adjusting only the "Y Saturation" on Pitch, Roll and Rudder. Pitch (Y axis) - 48 Roll (X axis) - 42 Rudder (RZ axis) - 85
  24. As already suggested above and disabled Civ, Traffic and drop your Preload Radius Looking at your log I would also drop the following: Clutter/Grass has a big impact so would drop that to maybe 900 or 1000 at least, yours is currently 1240 Forest Visibility I would drop to maybe 80% or maybe 90%, you got it on 100% Not related as such but your Bios is about 12 versions out of date, been a few fixes since then. Some people don't like touching it in case they brick the system. Also you updated your Nvidia drivers recently, several people had issues with the latest drivers and had to drop back one or two versions.
  25. Can't believe I've never noticed before
