  1. I'm going to abstain from voting simply because money does not grow on trees and honestly by having the Warthog Throttle I can do just about anything I want with it. I honestly don't care if it looks like an F-16 throttle or not. I had a Cougar and I sold it a long time ago instead of spending $$$$ upgrading all the various switches and pots to hall effect sensors and new switches. I might be so inclined to spend the money and would readily indicate a solid MAYBE as an option in the poll if it were there. Seeing what TM did with the Hornet stick at $200+ USD is a little steep for me; not counting the price of the pedals at $500 USD as well.
  2. Well as a long time corsair fan and someone that ran VF-17 "The Jolly Rogers" in Ace's High 2 for years and loved flying the F4U in all its variants I can honestly say I will be waiting with baited breath to fly this in DCS.
  3. While their website always says they are in stock; when I add them to cart to order they always return a red banner that says they don't have enough in stock to fill my order of 1 for the warthog stick and 1 for the warthog throttle.
  4. We are going to pay a good bit more for that it seems. https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-VG-18-Grip-Add-PC/dp/B07H1Z3L67/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=thrustmaster&qid=1574346509&sr=8-7
  5. I currently have Dell 27" S2716DG monitors and an older Samsung 27" monitor but want to get rid of all the bezels and go down to one monitor for work and games. Does anyone have any experience with this one from Samsung and if so what was your experience? I am firmly in the VR haters camp because I can't adjust to the way it makes me feel like I am going to throw up all the time. I currently use TrackIR 5 with a Pro Clip for my wireless headset and I don't have any issues in any games with it at all from the vertigo that some people experience.
  6. Cool Jabbers...thanks for the chance to get a copy of it for free. I am buying one anyway and if I end up with a freebie then I will give it to my oldest son and he can be my wingman.
  7. Unable to preorder as they have closed all preorders ahead of the July 23rd release date. I was going to order as the wife ack had given permission to spend the $$$ for a good birthday gift but I have to wait until they open the ordering back up again. In their press release I didn't see any mention of limiting pre-orders.
  8. I think that is what you are going to end up with...we will all know more between 12 June and 14 June when E3 is happening. Guess I will need to allocate some of my commission $$$ to a new handle/stick for sure.
  9. Every item that has ever been built unless it was machined by gods from a single piece of unobtanium has a small amount of play in it; especially after some time of usage.
  10. I personally can't stand the TARGET as the software. I find that it isn't easy to work with the GUI side and is enough of a problem for me in the script side that I can't wrap my mind around how to write the actual script to make it work for me. As it stands now when I fire up DCS I tend to only fly the A-10C since I can't get the other aircraft to function as I want them to in the game with any of the profiles.
  11. Absolutely which is why we will just have to agree to disagree over my statement about CLoD being a turd. It is my opinion that the money I have spent on CLoD was wasted on a project that should have been finished years ago but for whatever reason never got to the point that was promised. I should have realized my error prior to purchasing but I like to support developers because they are few and far between. However I should have held on to my money and waited till CLoD made it to GOG.com before buying it.
  12. I don't know about the single greatest WW2 air combat games. Maybe you can stick the original one in there but the rest of them were nothing but eye candy from my perspective. You can polish the turd of CLoD all you want to but it is still a turd. I would even toss the Forgotten Battles and Pacific Fighters into the mix on the turd side as well. Someone mentioned trying to take off fully loaded with fuel and weapons aircraft off that is of the same type versus on that is lightly loaded with fuel and weapons and the plane performs the exact same way...to me that is a porked FM. Eye candy...great; all other aspects of being a "flight simulation" not so great AFTER the first IL-2 was released.
  13. Kinect is a pretty solid little device. If I can use it and make things function on my kids Xbox360 then I bet anyone can make it work and if anything I wouldn't put it past M$ to make it native in an upcoming version of Windows and a backwards compatible update to at least Vista. Just think of all the interactions you could have with a cockpit in the DCS world. No more needs for Helios, X-keys boxes or people building their own cockpit worlds for these sims since the game could support the movement and hand motions within the game allowing you to interact with the cockpit in a virtual manner by just adding more screens to see the things with.
  14. First off it can't be that hard to come up with a profile for an engine start sequence in a WW2 ride...I have seen them up close and personal in both the 51D and an F4U. It isn't rocket science like BS2 or A-10C.
  15. I wouldn't waste my time or money on this version from the franchise.
  16. Thanks for the links and information. As for the "realism" well sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do to get some virtual stick time with the aircraft that you want to play with.
  17. I thought there were some mods out there that allowed this but I can not find the downloads to drop them in. I have looked around the VNAO site which I found from some google searching but I can only find the videos of Tomcats and Super Hornets but nothing else other than the words that they have the mods available.
  18. OK I am just now getting to the point where I can get Flaming Cliffs 2 to install and run on my computer. Don't know why but it didn't want to work until I bought this last copy of Lock On Platinum and installed it yesterday. So now what do I need to do in order to fly the Tomcat or Hornet in Flaming Cliffs 2? I am jonesing for some naval air ops in jets and since I can't get the Janes F/A-18 to work on my Win7 rig I guess this is the only thing till DCS can get us a good naval update in that series.
  19. Yep I can vouch for TnDep as a good man. Always been good for anything he has done over at the boards for Aces High and has always been a good guy to have on the wing when playing online as well. Also he doesn't live that far from me so if needed I can go rough him up but that shouldn't be a need for him.
  20. Suggest a ping pong ball as the landing gear ball and fill it with the stuff called "Great Stuff" that you can get at Home Depot or Lowes which fills in cracks in walls, etc... It hardens up nicely and you can cut it or stick it on the wood and it will create a nice fit immediately that you can trim off with a razor knife.
  21. You convert the inches to millimeters by the following calculation: If you have a fractional measurement of 6 3/32" you divide the 3 by 32 which = .09375 then add that to the whole number in this case 6 to get the number 6.09375. Then you multiply that number by 25.4 to get the measurement in millimeters = 154.78125
  22. SOLD! I have a set of Pro Flight pedals that I would like to get rid of so I can get a set of the Combat Pedals. They are about a year old and have functioned great for me. I have used them in DCS: BlackShark, A-10C, Aces High 2, IL-2 series and several other flight sims of varying age and quality. Asking $60 + shipping to your location and I am willing to sell anywhere as long as you are willing to send the money via Paypal and pay the shipping.
  23. Nicely done with just an old jigsaw. Way to go bud.
  24. Thanks for letting me know Crunch.
