in the oil war campaign, when taking off from an aerodrome as opposed to a helicopter pad, my wing man says wheels up, but days nothing when taking off from a FARP.

Well I remember the manual comparing the system to ILS, and saying one of the advantages was that the PRMG system is portable, which is pretty cool, and also a bit scary! The RSBN landing system (can't recall acronym) that is similar to ILS, seems to be off a few degrees, though I'm not 100 percent sure how it works -- however, using the "automatic" SAU landing mode, which should set you up basically for a perfect landing until you get to 100 meters AGL, whereupon you manually land, instead puts the aircraft a few degrees to the right of the proper heading. Track posted. I wondered if they had modeled the pitot freezing -- though IIRC, the mission was in the summer, and around Sochi.

This might be a "feature", and not a bug -- sometimes the altimeter and speed instrument show rapidly falling values, though aircraft if maintaining speed and altitude, verified by external view data. Is this expected under certain conditions? Towards the end of the video, watch the instruments suddenly reset back to normal -- foobarl.trk

Finally, the lightbulb goes off! Indeed, should have seen that myself -- you only fly 5 or 7 km away from station before first turn, but when you make you're 4th turn, you're well past 10 km from station. Thanks!
