  1. I don't use TARGET anymore, so I've got no use for either of them.
  2. I used to use Sendenion's 120dx hack. It's easy to configure for your TM setup and up to date with all the latest devices: TQS, Viper Panel, and AVA. I have a hybrid system now and use RSMapper to program everything; vJoy is not required. But if all you are running is TM products, I highly recommend his hack. It lets you use TEMPO commands on Hats and momentary switches; all your switches are two-way. It also enables the correct programming on the Warthog throttle to run Autopilot correctly in the A-10. You can't go wrong with it.
  3. Turn off SAP. Use it only to switch settings from Axis to buttons and make Firmware changes. There is no need to run it at all. I've got a mix of WW and TM devices and stopped using TARGET to program the TM products. I use RSMapper now, and you don't need vJoy, which I hate. RSMapper sees all your devices, and it is even easier to program than TARGET, which I was pretty good at. You can build multiple profiles for all your Modules quickly and easily. I can do command on press, command on release, Tempo commands, and Chain events, which it mistakenly calls Sequence events. This is the mess I deal with every time I fly. I also have a BlackHog A panel, a K51 Trim box, TPRs, and an On your 12 Master Arm panel. Not pictured is an FFGG AH-64 keyboard. It all works flawlessly. I tore it all apart to have my office back and will start an NLR Flight Sim Pro set up after Christmas. I already have the new computer, but it's not shown either. I believe in the KISS method of component programming. When fecal matter hits the rotating cooling device, less troubleshooting is needed.
  4. I'd also like to see a two front compatible P-38 for use in ETO, and PTO, you would get more bang for your buck. An A-20G would be nice too.
  5. Agree, the 109s cockpit is atrocious. Even the mods don't make it any better. The Jug and Mosquito are very nice by comparison. But they aren't the bright shiney jets or whirlybirds everyone is sporting wood over. So I'm not expecting any upgrades to the Warbirds anytime soon. I'd like to see damage modeling on the AI made better, B-17s are comical in the way they always recieve the same damage, and are shot down way to easily. It is what it is, Warbirds are the red headed step children of this game. JMTCW
  6. VFA-94 SHWFOTS.... $hit, Hot World Famous Orange Tailed Shrikes.. call the sign Hoss... STFU Hoss
  7. The SOP for tactical and fighter aircraft is to switch the ALQ from Receive to Repeat when you fence in. There is no interfering with it; it all works automatically. When you fence out, you switch it back to Receive. Maybe one day, ED will figure out how to make it more realistic. You don't need to know the Freq ranges, deception techniques, or any other secret stuff to make it look real for a Simulation..... I deleted the public version years ago for disc space; it was as useless as tits on a boar hog for MP (Cricketville). I've had nothing but the beta installed since that time. So they just did away with the download for the public version and renamed or un-named the beta. Nothing has changed about it. I still have it named beta on my desk icon and folder in E drive.
  8. The game has not changed even if they removed the "OpenBeta" label. I only had the Open Beta on my E drive; no Public release version was installed. Call it what you will, but you are still paying full price and testing modules that are not done—i.e., they are in Beta. Potato/potatoes... it's still a beta.
  9. I can't get Discord to connect; it says it's an invalid link. Seven WESTPACS on three different carriers, two with VA-94 on the Enterprise, 85-89. Ships company on Connie 79-82 and Lincoln 93-97. AIMD/IM3 WorkCenter 64C/61D. I-Level, DECM, and Secure Comms. AIMD/IM1/Quality Assurance Rep. Retired in 97 and worked at NAS Lemoore for Boeing's Avionics Repair Facility in VFA-125, then VFA-122's Hanger Mod until I retired in June 2021. I'm still just 10 miles east of the base on Grangeville Blvd. Hoss
  10. Yep..... that's why I used TARGET when all I had was TMWH devices. But I have a mix of TM, WW, BH, K51, On your 12, and ffgg controller's, so I use a third party programmer now. Joy2key at first, but now I only use RSMapper when I need to emulate a keystroke, or build a macro of keystrokes. I see all of my devices on the gui, I can make multiple profiles, switch between profiles. Don't like Joystick Gremlin or anything else requiring vjoy. My dilemma the ffgg AH-64 keypad is not in the pic. Good luck finding one you find user friendly.
  11. You need to remember what aircraft you're in and what decade you're simulating to determine adversary Target Tracking RADAR and corresponding coalition DECM, ECM, ESM capabilities. Everyone seems to think DECM, ECM, ESM, and ECCM, is the answer to surviving a hostile environment. It is to a certain extent, but your onboard deception repeaters can only do so much. You'll need AI Prowlers, Growlers, and Ravens to actually simulate a real battle space. The devs don't need to know secret, or classified information to simulate the effects of RADAR, ECM, DECM and ESM systems. What we really need is a stable public version of the game, that the Devs don't constantly break with every update. And the beta MP servers locked from the public. With a stable public version, with MP servers where everything is thoroughly tested before release. You will be in a better position to determine whether or not if your flight plan to ingress the target area was sound or not. And if your countermeasure systems are effective or not. Like I mentioned earlier, dedicated ECM aircraft are needed in the game. Chaff dispensers on the A7, A6, and F/A-18s would also carry jammers in tandem with Chaff and flares. There are also towed jammers on the modern jets. We don't have the ALE-41 Chaff pods to stick on the AI A6, to lay down corridors like they did with window in WWII. JMTCW.
  12. Not my CAW on the Enterprise and Lincoln..85-89 and 93-97..... VF-211 and VF-24 were on the Connie in CAW 9 when I was on it in 79-82. I retired April 30, 1997.
  13. Try this...... MTSIM mouse extender on a table mount. Mine is set flush with my desk. I no longer need to lean forward to reach it on the desk.
  14. OODA Loop. Observe, Orient, Decide, Act. Rinse, Repeat. And you need to do it for both Mustangs and the TF-51, in the snap view Lua line section [13].

    Pedals?

Two boxes screwed together, slick board on top, with TPS pedals screws into the top. My heels slide nicely on the board. I still need to paint the boxes black. Improvise, Adapt, Overcome...... GySgt Highway.
  16. To your statement; yes, more than likely. I was an instructor at NAMTRAGRUDET NAS Lemoore, 12/89 - 07/93. I never had a tech from NAS Miramar (Tomcat techs) in my AN/ALQ-126A or 126B classes, or AN/ALR-67 class. I never had a F-14 I-Level tech in my workcenter on the boat(s) working on ALQs. So some CAW, squadrons may have used them because all the techs I had out of Miramar were ALQ-100 Techs. I can tell you the 167 was probably configurable through its programmable threat library EPROM, just like the ALR-45F and ALR-67. Same for the ALQ-126's. Target Tracking/Firecontrol RADARS are classified by their PRF/PW. i.e. their Finger Print. Those are in a memory library, then identified, and appropriate deception techniques assigned by priority of threat. If it's not in the library, it's classified as unknown, and just gets random noise to bury the real return in the threat RADARs reciever. No intervention is necessary by the pilot. But IRL you have a Prowler or Growler out there that can selectively/manually pick out threats of the ECMOs choice, and jam the emitters unceasingly. You put a ALQ-126A/B in repeat, it will transmit only as long as it's in the RADARS zone of lethality. Sensitivity (ingress) and Snap-down (egress) settings. It stays on a bit longer on the way out. ED/DCS/Developers, probably won't ever get any of it modeled correctly. They do need AI, EA-6B Prowlers, EF-111 Ravens or Sparkvarks, and EF-18 Growlers. IMHO Cheers
  17. That Tomcat's VF-102 tail designation is AB, that is an East Coast Atlantic F-14 Squadron. I was a WESTPAC sailor.... CVW-11 was NH on the Enterprise and Lincoln for all four of my cruises on those two boats. Not counting my first three on the Connie with CAG-9, NG, 1979-82. All in workcenter 64C DECM, shop. Like I said earlier, we never used them.
  18. We (Workcenter 64C) never issued one out of the POD shop locker on the Enterprise to any F-14, A-6, or EA-6B squadrons on the 86 or 88 Cruise. I would have been the person they needed to see to check it out. We didn't take the Pods on the Lincoln cruises I made in 93/95. The Black Lions and Aardvarks were on both boats for all four cruises. You guys believe too much of what you read online. Another boat may have issued them on their cruises, but we did not. The 88 cruise was Operation Preying Mantis when we would have needed them the most. But the EA-6B's handled anything we saw coming out of Iran. They can selectively and Actively Jam anything rotating, radiating, or communicating in RF. That POD has a very selective threat library it will respond to. You will get buddy spikes from Iranian AWG-9 and APQ-120 RADARS on the old AN/ALR-45/45F/50 and later AN/ALR-67 RWR systems, and the Deception Repeaters (ALQ-100/126) will not send out deception pulses. But they didn't have a pair big enough to come out and play with us. They left their sailors on the Sahand and Sabalan Frigates to the whims of VA-95, VA-22, and VA-94. They couldn't keep the new Sahand from capsizing in port, let alone get it out to sea to meet the same fate as its predecessor. The Iran and Iraq war lasted a good 8 years; we beat Iran twice in both wars in weeks and sank Iran's Navy in 8 hours. You have seen what the IDF did to Iran in one night. Both were paper tigers... China and Russia can't keep their boats afloat either. Remember the USS Roberts and USS Cole. Both cruised again. Cheers. SHWFOTS (VA-94)
  19. Question: Do we use the Multi Thread or regular update option with the update utility? And do we use the mt.exe to start the game or the regular dcs.exe to start the game? Every update kills my HOTAS software's ability to use keyboard emulation and macros to control certain functions in the aircraft with my setup. TARGET doesn't work, RSMapper doesn't work, nothing works. I have to go in and redo everything on that button or switch to just a dx command instead of a (RCTL+Y, LCTL+T, L) sequence to control three different switches in-game, with one switch/button on my HOTAS. To: 1. Flip up the guard switch, 2. enable the station "Left" bomb switch, and 3. Pull up the T-handle to arm the Left bomb. Inquiring minds want to know.
  20. When it's not broken, in one form or another, it's my favorite go-to aircraft. Getting my HOTAS software keyboard emulation programming to work is a royal pain in the arse. They always seem to break it every time they upgrade or release some other module. I wish they would end the Open Beta and close the Open Beta MP servers.
  21. This Pod started life as the DLQ-3B it was used to counter Iranian F-14 and F-4 RADARS. Because our AN/ALQ-100 and ALQ-126's Threat library will not respond to an F-14 or F-4 RADAR system, because it does not see it as hostile, now it's for simulation purposes as far as I can tell. We had them during Operation Preying Mantis in 1988 to put on the F-14s, A-6, and EA-6B's. Only the Iranian F-4s got airborne, the Prowlers selectively jammed them and they turned around and went home. We never used the DLQ's. AT1(SW/SW) USN ret. 1977-1997 DECM Technician.
  22. Stop buying things at full price that are 75% complete at best, and expect them to actually finish it. You wouldn't buy anything else like that so why do you settle for it here. But ED/DCS will roll out the next flashy and shiney trinket and you'll jump all over it, forgetting about how the last flashy, shiney trinket is still an unfinished and broken piece of crap. As the old saying goes, a fool and his money are soon seperated. We can bitch and moan all we want, but like a myopic jackass, locked onto that next carrot/module on a stick dangling out there. We just follow along fat, dumb and happy. JMTCW.........
  23. My F/A-18 stick works just fine on the AVA base, just like it did on the WH base. TARGET software works just like it did with the WH base... Cheers
