  1. How about a 980-mm antenna? ;) check info about Phazotron-NIIR: http://www.milparade.com/security/50/04_01.shtml http://www.aeroindiaseminar.com/Kanashchenko.htm
  2. Check this review: http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1886278,00.asp
  3. If I remember it correctly the only problem I had was my thrust slider which was not assigned correctly by default (I think this was in FC 1.1 or even 1.02) Anyway assigning the buttons and sliders with functions on your cougar with FC 1.11 setup options or 1.1 is a piece of a cake.
  4. The only new plane I can see in this training coop is the su-30. All the others have almost my age I guess :icon_kidr
  5. I think last time I have checked on the net, there was Tu-22M Backfire and tu-16 Badger in the inventory but it was not sure. Anyway, the Tu22M can carry kh-22. It is anyway scary that these folks come in range of capital cities in Europe.
  6. I didn’t know that Iran owns 6 AS-15 unarmed missiles (air-to-ground missiles kh-55 with 3000 km range and 200kT TNT equivalent/missile or which is a total capability of 1200 kilotons) They have the knowledge and the material to arm them. http://www.nti.org/e_research/profiles/Iran/Missile/1788_4967.html
  7. Then buy FX-57 or X2 instead of this dual G5 stuff! Check PC magazine article (couple of months ago). In Gaming this dual G5 was no competition for AMD FX-57 or X2 4800+ Imagine this together with the latest dual 7800GTX 512. PS. Latest G5 Mac’s comes always together with these older 6800 Ultras (which I bought already in 2004  LOL)
  8. Thanks for all the advice! My FX-55 CPU temp is about 40°C @2.813Ghz (x14 multiplier) (in summer it will be +50°C :icon_redf ) Anyway I have my warning alarm set on 60°C. I think I got about average 5 FPS extra! I guess my video adapter is now the bottleneck.
  9. Hi VMFA Blaze, Congratulations for that nice stuff you got there. My Philips 21” CRT was giving some quality trouble and after 10 years of service.I replaced it (temporary) with a 19” CRT 1600x1200@75Hz (Medion Aldi) Anyway the old screen was and still is capable of doing about +2000x1500 and 16x12 @85 Hz. The 6800 Utra still is top. It is faster than the new 7800GTX in lower resolution and in combination with lower AA/AF. (My advice is 16x12 with 2xAA,4xAF gives good results with FC) I did not yet OC my 6800 ultra because I am still on stock air-cooling and I am happy with the results: together with OC on my FX-55 @ 2.81 Ghz (Ok only multiplier set on x14 from x13) and all the stuff is hot enough in the summer already  . Anyway here you got my temp stats: http://users.skynet.be/VandenHaute/fx55.jpg
  10. After reading your post I have to say that I was lucky until now (I own it 5 months now and after many hours of flying in lomac/FC and FS2004 and yes F4 FF/CobraOne tooJ (sporadic)). I was putting the cougar system on my balance 5 minutes ago and I got 3.7 kg for the stick and 3.0 kg for the other part and this without the cables. Thus the weight is 6.7 kg which is about the weight of a modern racing bike. Anyway, I don’t think that it is a good idea to drop it even once.
  11. The Cougar-Hotas is a replica of the real thing period. Can plastic lightweight versions give you less workload for the user? Yes. This is not necessary a disadvantage because maneuvering the airplane is anyway limited by G force and physical flight model of the plane. Can plastic lightweight versions give you advantage in multiplayer online against an opponent with a heavy Cougar? Sure, but again not necessary. Known the fact that the Cougar is an F-16 hotas replica and the fact that Russian fighter planes like the Migs and Su’s need harder workload than the F-16 anyway, I would buy a Mig29 replica hotas that is even harder to handle (No modding for me) .
  12. LOCK ON: Flaming Cliffs Patch Version 1.11 Attention! Version 1.11 is not multiplayer compatible with previous versions of Lock On. All players must be using the same version of version 1.11. 13. It certainly is not the memory that increases FPS! Note also that my FX-55 is only on 90% while running a huge air battle in 16x12 (4xAA, 8xAF). For example: ”Panzers phase II” needs the double memory of FC 1.11. With 1GB you have more than enough memory. More memory increases only load times @ startup. Do the test yourself: alt-tab (go desktop) and ctrl-alt-del Choose the processes tab and click on memory.
  14. They told him that Charlie was all over the place… BTW in Belgium we have about 1500 kills a year in traffic involved in car accidents.
  15. You see I got you! That is my point. In 16x12 you can’t see the difference for certain settings: TRN PRLD was only on 50km! The same goes for water medium or high and VISIB RNG on medium (I can’t see difference) PS. I guess too high for trees.
  16. I guess not! Here you can find some fps examples of my preferred setup (16x12). (BTW my pc is 1 year old next month) http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=11147 I have also a question for you: Try to guess in what settings this mig29 screenshot was done. http://users.skynet.be/VandenHaute/locon/mig_eadf_3.jpg PS. You can wait 5 years before a system is capable of maxing out settings in 1900x1500.:icon_wink
  17. I have a solution for all this mess: Clients have to register on daily basis via email (web mail not allowed) Clients must give IP address (checked with www.whatismyipaddress.com on that day) and call sign (HL registered name only) that will be used together with this IP address. As a result the host knows the email address, the IP-address and the HL call sign that was used. If this client request was validated and accepted then the host could send back a daily mission password. Folks who were not connected with validated name and IP-address can be kicked out later. Of course cheaters are identified then via their unique email account.
  18. It were the numbers too which tricked me like 603 and 502 :icon_redf Why not 01,02,03,04,05 for the first prototypes?
  19. What is your point? If there was already another 123rd_FunnyBunny then I guess it was not possible to register another 123rd_FunnyBunny right? Anyway I am almost sure there is an explanation. 609_Vosxod was maybe using a mod or maybe the EA loadout was saved on default in the server options.
  20. Hi Tabasco, I am just wondering which multiplier you are using on that FX-57 ?
