  1. Ok still have the pit issues with the Su-27 but the others seem fine although when I selected DCS in nivida, it shows up as black shark and when a selected the launcher.exe for DCS....it's labeled as World of Warcraft......what?
  2. Hey good to see a familiar name. Yea getting back to everything is hard. I'm a complete noob now. Anyway, I'm just running this on my laptop, specs: i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz, Win 7 64 bit, 6GB Ram, 1GB GeForce GT 525M It's strange, sometimes when it comes to new games, my laptop doesn't kick in the Graphics card and it just runs on the onboard graphics. How do I go about to select DCS to run it on max performance?
  3. Hey guys, I've been gone for a really really really long time. I recently found my joystick and trackir and decided to get back into things. I have DCS A-10C and just bought FC3. First, what is the install order for FC3? I read it was: Install original Lock On, then install DCWorld, then FC3, then delete Lock On? But the main reason for this post is the strange lag I'm getting only in the Su-27 cockpit. the other planes fly fine. Even when I lower my settings down, it's still lags. Any ideas what's causing it?
  4. I'm just trying to get back to this sim and I busted out my old Saitek X-52 joystick, still looks brand new but I noticed something funny in game. My plane would roll radically to the right sometimes and I noticed it was the rudders. The rudder would spike to the right when I'm moving the joystick. I read online this is common for X-52s, is there a fix for it? Is it because of a bad driver or incompatible with windows 7, 64 bit?
  5. thats what i was thinking too because when I run the patch installer, it's pointing at:C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C But in reality there's nothing there since I installed it through steam. So the actual file location should have been here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dcs a-10c warthog I was wondering should I direct the patch installation to the steam address above?
  6. So that 4.5 gig from the website is the full game and not the patch? I just use my steam cd key when I install it? So do I uninstall the one I have from steam when I install the one from the web?
  7. Ah thanks I'll check out those links and mods. Glad to see some few familiar faces around here. Cheers! One question I had is getting up to the latest patch and what are the procedures. I just downloaded the A-10C off of steam, installed it. But I'm not sure which is my current version. 1.00...etc? And which patch do I download off of the DCS website that is compatible with the steam version?
  8. Hey guys, not sure if anyone still remembers me around here but I've been around since the very old lock on years. I stopped playing due to personal obligations with family about a year and a half ago, since then I missed soo much. I tried installing my old FC but starforce came up with an error message so I'll just skip right into DCS A-10C. If someone could just summarize the essentials for DCS A-10C, like any must-have mods. What's the installation procedures....etc. I would appreciate it. I guess I should purchase DCS A-10C off of steam? it's 19.99 right now, great price for a great game unless there's something wrong with the download copy? Let me know, thanks!
  9. A company called Corgi made some pretty nice helicopters in diecast. I would highly recommend their Sea Kings, Chinook, and blackhawk.
  10. I think I need a new display cabinet for my planes: Funny how fast a collection grows, I think I bought this cabinet a little over a year ago, and BAM a couple thousand dollars later....the cabinet is filled. So I guess I need a new one. I had to take out a few planes and store them away in boxes, but these are the ones that are displayed right now: Day/Night Shot: Looks so crowded from the top-down angle: And a few closeups:
  11. Very nice build Thor77! That's an impressive looking A-6. The only difference between the two birds was your model (tail number 155704) was actually the first one to be painted in this color. Unfortunately it was shot down by accident in 1996. It was during a live-fire gunnery exercise as part of RIMPAC 1996 that the Japanese Asagiri class destroyer "Yuugiri", accidentally shot-down the US Navy A-6E Intruder, BuNo 155704, of VA-115 Eagles. The aircraft was towing a target drone approximately three miles behind it when the Yuugiri inadvertently targeted the towing aircraft, rather than the target, with its 20mm Phalanx Close In Weapons System. The Pilot, Lt. Cmdr. William Royster and Bombardier-Navigator, Lt. Keith Douglas, ejected and were immediately rescued. The one I have was the replacement aircraft (tail number 155662) and repainted in the same color to be the "CAG bird". It is known as the "Final Flight" since it was the last one to leave Atsugi NAF in 1996.
  12. I really envy your build skills, since I suck at building, I have to resort to buying pre-built model. Although I do like the weight of a diecast model as opposed to a plastic one. Here's a few pics on my latest A-6:
  13. Yea I agree people are freaking out due to the news BS, and this in turns hurts our economy because I know some people who are stocking up on dry food because they fear the radiation would make grown crops uneatable over the next 6 months....jeez people need to chill out and the news is just adding fuel to fire.
  14. Exactly, this would mean a HUGE catastrophe. 100x Chernobyl or something. Either that or they assume all 6 reactors blows up.
  15. First I would like to say that I don't really buy into the media hype about the nuclear radiation from the fukushima plant traveling all the way from Japan to America via wind currents and still be a great danger. Especially this chart: 0-50 rads - No obvious short-term effects 80-120 rads - You have a 10% chance of vomiting and experiencing nausia for a few days 130 -170 rads - You have a 25% chance of vomiting and contracting other symptoms 180-220 rads - You have a 50% chance of vomiting and having other severe physical effects 270-330 rads - 20% chance of death in 6 weeks, or you will recover in a few months. 400-500 rads - 50% chance of death 550-750 rads - Nausia within a few hours ; no survivors > 1000 rads - immediate incapacitation and death within a week or less. Because this would mean I'll have a 75% chance of death by next week  But I do know a lot of people are freakin out over the situation and running off to the local store to buy potassium iodide and I know a lot of crooks out there are selling fakes just to feed off of people's hysteria. I try to explain to them to stay calm but I don't really have a lot of knowledge over this situation to get my point across. So if anyone who actually knows a bit about nuclear power plants/fallout...etc, could you please chime in so I can tell others the same. CNN isn't exactly helping people stay "calm" especially when they reported the USS Ronald Reagan got hit by a bunch of radiation, the Japanese embassy told US personals to stay 50 miles radius away from the plant, and radiation levels has been spiking up and down.
  16. That's an awesome pic PAKFA...how big is the Su-47 compared to the rest of those planes?
  17. Thanks guys! Means a lot Today is a busy day, not only my bday, but it's also chinese new year eve (so basically payday with lots of red envelopes filled with cash- still haven't used up last year's bundle of cash). It's also the start of the year of the rabbit, and groundhog day =D
  18. Hell yes, this is my year: the rabbit Happy Chinese New Year to anyone who celebrates it. This is basically payday for me with all those red envelopes =D
  19. That's because in India they actually get a head start in learning a career when they are very young. They would focus directly on...let's say engineering at an American high school level. While here in the U.S. we honestly waste a lot of time learning a "broad" subject like bio, english, math, science, art, music...etc. So who do you think the companies would hire....us "mediocre" knowledge college graduates who demand a higher salary or the smarter/experienced foreigner who thinks min wage is a "lot" of money. That's the sad truth to the American education system...it's also the reason why it's very hard for me to find a job right now =(
  20. Some F-35 JSF A variant B variant C variant more photos here: http://www.jsf.mil/gallery/gal_photo.htm
  21. I believe so, I just found these online so can't comment if it was photoshoped or real. But I had the same concerns as you after looking at that terrain
  22. I believe that particular euro camo on the "F-15E" was just a prototype. And I remember it was actually a converted F-15B
